CottonJones Yes, that's why, as one of my teachers wisely told us, "never believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see." In this simple statement, he supports your point, that reality changes and is intangible.

How many innocent people around the world have been put to death or imprisoned in eye-witness accounts? If you knew the truth of this realm, you could walk through walls, travel to any point in time or space by merely altering your perception. Few on this planet have reached this level, though. Jesus is quoted as saying, if you have enough faith, you can say to the mountain jump into the sea and it would do as you say (paraphrased). In science, it is possible to blot out the entire universe at certain wave lengths (another example of quantum strangeness). There are only waves, not particles. In the beginning, there was a shove or push that started the waves, nothing more and nothing less than that; waves of force or energy. Everything you see is only one observation; move your perspective; and it changes (a toggle switch) if you please of on or off, ones or zeros and observation or no observation. The implications of the video is that the universe is aware when you (or anything) observes and when you do not. It is like look it is there, turn your head; and it is not, and the very definition of magic or illusion. To do this, the universe must have consciousness. Perhaps we are merely avatars in a huge Sims Universe. LPF, Olan (A/N: To see the above mentioned video, go to my acrostic poem link above; there you will find it.)

I think everybody is familiar with Tolkien but I am not too familiar with his philosophical views. I do believe that, since the universe is infinite to us, then if it can be imagined (reality depends on observations), somewhere in the vastness it is so. The mind allows us to travel to many realms by mere thought, including fairies, gnomes and all types of fantastic beings. I have seen many such beings (as have most) in dreams. It is through the mind's eye (in meditative thought) one can actually explore this world in depth, as did Tolkien, Lewis and many other imaginative minds. We are only limited by our imagination and the framework within the mind functions. If for example you tell yourself that hobbits don't exist, then if you see one you would call it a delusion, run to the psychiatrist and put yourself on strong medication because it is not within your framework The open minded poet, artist, composer, inventor see something new and tries to incorporate it into a new worldview. Thus, for Edison impossibility becomes reality and the world then adjusts to a new world of incandescent light bulbs, instead of gaslight and candles. Other minds such as Einstein, Galileo bring new ideas to the world, but it takes decades for the world to accept them. Einstein watched a clock and wondered if time is relative while others just noted time passing. Galileo wondered perhaps the Earth was not the center of the universe and much later, others accepted the notion. Progress is measured by those who see outside the book.

@CarolinaC Quantum is us. Smile. We are quanta. Everything is made of quanta, just waves of invisible energy vibrating. The fun part about it is its strangeness. If it is conscious of observation and it changes according to what is viewing it, it makes you really think about what we are. By definition, the two-dimensional world of SimCity is as real as we are (we are 3d Sims). Perhaps we are simulations with awareness. We just can't pin down the substance that is us. Each time science gets closer, the subject moves. Reality is as elusive as a dream, trying to grasp a mist or keep a snowflake from melting in the hand that holds it. The inner eye of the mind is the only eye that sees reality, but unfortunately, the third eye is mostly calcified in adults and unseeing. Most religions refer to a third-eye, even Christianity when it says, "The light of the body is the eye: If your eye is single, thy whole body will be full of light." If we depend on our outward sight, then we walk in blindness, walking in an illusion. LPF, Olan

@BillTemple @CarolinaC @hughena, Lisaner. I thank you all (or as we say here, y'all) for your comments. I hope y'all watched the YouTube video as well that gives the scientific explanation of this delusion we call reality. My father, much smarter then I gave him credit at the time, said to me as a teenager. "It is all a dream; god dreaming us," as if, as the video suggests, science has proven on the quantum level [the quantum level is the core of all matter] what is seen with two eyes is dependent on an observation, even that of a machine; then this reality is no more that observations by anything that has eyes to see and mind to interpret it. Reality is intangible (it changes) and trying to grasp it is like holding the wind in your hands. We know we have a third eye; all animals do. It is called the pineal gland and that gland has photo receptor cells in it. But in most humans it becomes calcified as we become adults, and the vision of youth is lost. Our invisible playmates disappear and only the seers and visionaries are left to guide us in this two-eyed dream of observations. We were designed with a third-eye for a reason, to guide us to the real realm of pure free energy. Unfortunately, the oracles of our age are demeaned; if they speak out they are drugged, hospitalized or called crazy. I tell you seeing is not believing if you only use two eyes to see. Follow the person who uses three eyes; otherwise, you are following a partially sighted person.
