Divided

Third Person POV:

A large gust of wind blew through Ninjago City causing Jay to shiver and wrap his arms closer to himself. He exhaled a sigh, his breath coming out like steam. He was walking through Ninjago City and he cursed at himself for not being smart enough to grab a jacket or something before he left.

The sun had set no less than an hour ago and Jay didn't even recognize what part of the city he was in. He didn't care though. His mind was on a constant repeat of what had happened. It played the scene over and over again, and each time Kai's words filled his head, Jay grew angrier. It was just a game. There was no need for him to overreact. But then again, why did Jay expect everything to go back to the way they were before?

He shook away the thought and began looking around. If he didn't find anywhere to warm himself up soon, Jay was sure he'd die of hyperthermia. Not like anyone would care, He thought. Jay sighed once more and quickly began looking for somewhere to warm himself up. While he was looking around, something caught his eye. It was high above Jay's head and it admitted a bright red glow. As Jay walked closer he realized that it was a neon sign. On it read the words "24-hour motel! First Right!".

"That'll work," Jay mumbled to himself heading off towards the motel.

The Destinys Bounty was usually a loud and joyous place but at the moment it was quiet and tense. Nya had come back moments ago claiming that she couldn't find Jay, Zane was unable to find Cole, Kai hadn't said a word, and Sensei Wu just watched quietly. The room was quiet for a long time, each person waiting for someone else to say something.

Sensei Wu sighed, "What exactly happened?" Nya and Zane immediately began speaking. "One at a time."

"Okay," Nya began. "We were all playing a video game and we had to restart several different times. The last time we were doing the mission, Jay died after getting into a small argument with Kai. After that, Kai kinda blew up on him and Jay left. Then I went and chased after him."

"While Nya was chasing Jay. Cole and I were explaining to Kai that the argument was uncalled for. That sparked another argument and then Cole left. Where I then went after him." Zane explained.

Sensei Wu nodded. "And Kai?" Kai didn't look up.

"Yeah. Yeah. I overreacted. I know." He mumbled.

"Is that all you have to say?!" Nya exclaimed. Kai finally looked up, glaring at everyone in the room.

"What did you want me to say?!"

"Oh, I don't know! How about an 'I'm sorry for dividing the team...again!'"

"Guys. Now is not the time to fight-" Zane stated.

"You know just as well as I do that the first time wasn't MY fault!" Kai interrupted.

"It might as well have been!"

While everyone was busy arguing, they were unaware of the fact that Vick was nearby listening. He smiled to himself as he turned towards the glowing armor. "That was smart. Tearing them apart from the inside." He whispered as he opened the bottom drawer. The staff glowed brighter. "Now, back to fixing the balance." With that, Vick took the staff, jumped out the window and landed in the helicopter he'd taken to get there. "Let's go."
