2018 Ends and 2019 Begins...
This was a year of growth for me. I learned so much this year, and I've become an adult. Usually, I just talk about important milestones and such, but I think this year, I'll just give a month by month recap of the year.
January:
My family was still adjusting to my mom's husband and his two sons moving in.
Three of my siblings and I went to Discipleship Now. I absolutely hated the social aspects of it because my social anxiety and self-esteem hit rock bottom.
Because of the stupid actions of one of my siblings who will remain nameless, my mom took the internet away until she could figure out how to protect us from certain content.
I got to see The Last Jedi in theaters, and that was the first Star Wars movie I had ever seen in theaters.
February:
The Olympics were in South Korea.
We finally got the Wi-Fi back. I don't remember much of anything else about that month, other than the fact my brother and sister and I bought our tickets for prom.
I'm also pretty sure I joined The League of Spammers that month. If not, I did in March.
March:
I got to see Black a Panther.
The homeschool prom was that month. My sister and I went to a friend's house the night before, and we got to hang out with our friends and get ready for prom together. We also got our pictures taken at the university campus, then headed off to prom! My brother didn't get to go because he had been grounded.
April:
That month, my dog, Aspen, had killed a chicken. My Mom's husband had shot her and then turned around and lied about her running away. Even his own mother said she'd kick his you-know-What for that.
Infinity War had been released in theaters.
May:
May was a pretty big month for me. Firstly, I delivered my speech on mental health care for my English class. I ended up winning the Ethos Award because I brought a judge to tears and because I included my own personal experience in the speech.
Secondly, May was the month I spent the most time with my friends this entire year. I had a sleepover at my friend's house and two of our friends were there, I attended their graduation and got to hang out with my best guy friend a few times, like after my friend's' graduation ceremony, at my church's youth party, and on his birthday.
Lastly, I myself got to graduate that month. A long time family friend got to come down from Alaska to attend my graduation "ceremony." She's known us since I was a baby, and we were all living in Germany.
Oh yeah, I also got to see Infinity War in theaters.
June:
June was fairly uneventful. That is all.
July:
On the Fourth of July, I went to see Solo. It was actually a lot better than I had expected it to be.
I went to see Ant-Man and the Wasp with my sister, her best friend, and her sister who was my classmate. I hyperventilated at the mid credit scene so hard while they laughed and hyperventilated.
I also had my first mission trip in Louisiana. I ministered to a little girl in the art camp and she gave her heart to Christ.
Then, Twenty Øne Piløts announced the coming of their new album, Trench, and they dropped two songs: Jumpsuit and Nico and the Niners.
I also joined the stronggirlsclub as an admin.
August:
I went to the local Comic Con! The first day, I was there with three of my friends, and I had cosplayed as Padme in the battle arena costume. I got two FUNKO Pops and a Harry Potter Gryffindor scarf. The second day, I went with my best guy friend and we had a blast!
Two of my siblings started public high school, and my five-year-old brother started public kindergarten. Thus, a quieter existence began for me.
September:
It was the first time I ever had an airplane flight alone, and I went to North Carolina to visit family. It was fun for the most part, except for the hurricane, and I feel like that trip marked the beginning of my adulthood. It was definitely like a coming of age thing for me.
October:
Twenty Øne Piløts released their latest album, Trench. Series 11 of Doctor Who started.
I turned eighteen. It was kind of an uneventful birthday, but it was still good. My mom and I went to lunch and she took me to the bookstore so I could get some books.
November:
I participated in my third National Novel Writing Month. I started and completed my latest novel, The Revolution of Oz.
As much as I wish I had a life, no, I do not have a life.
December:
I failed my first driving test.
I had a sleepover with two of my friends, which was actually a lot of fun, just that fun was somewhat stilted by what my mom's husband had done. I had been so stressed until my mom finally picked my up the next evening, especially since she had a court mediation with my dad. The following days were a trip, since the next two days my siblings and I had to go to our neighbor's house because my mom wasn't sure what the heck her husband would do. The second day, his family came to get his and his sons' stuff.
Then, it was Christmas Eve and we got a new router and we went to the Christmas Eve Service at our church.
Finally, it was Christmas. I got my mom a few presents for Christmas, and my siblings and I got great presents. We also worked together to make dinner for Christmas so our mom wouldn't have to cook.
We also got to see the Spiderverse movie yesterday.
