If a Bible verse, especially one of Jesus' commandments, makes you upset or angry, it's a sign that you need to get your heart aligned with Jesus.

Being a Christian isn't about following your own personal convictions, it's about following what God says. 

So, one evening before I went to bed, I was flipping through my Bible and came to 1 Timothy 2: 4. 

The verse struck a chord in me and I haven't been able to forget it or just brush it away. In fact, the verse made me reexamine my heart. 

For almost two years now I've honestly flat-out refused to forgive my dad. I didn't think I would ever, or could ever, forgive him. 

I still haven't forgiven him, yet, but 1 Timothy 2: 4 has definitely set me on the path to forgiving him. 

So, lesson learned- if a verse strikes a chord in you and you can't get over it, that's a sure sign that you need to reexamine your heart and align it to God's will. If you don't, you aren't being the Christian that God calls you to be.
