19.The Elves

Kíli's POV

As me and Ellie carried my brother through the thick trees I saw more blood seeping through his stomach wound every time we moved.

"Ellie we need to hurry."

I said looking around trying to find any way out of the thick foliage. As the light started to fade slightly Ellie and Anja seemed more restless and kept glancing behind us.

"Ellie we need to make it to Rivendell before nightfall."

Anja said holding onto Ori's hand tighter with her free hand holding a small knife.

"I know, if only we had Oin..."

She whispered the name as a sharp pain shot through my head and the image of a wise yet pained face appeared.

"Ori!"

I heard Anja shout but it sounded like I was underwater as the pain in my head increased and a flood of images filled my mind.

"Fee! Kee! Ori! What's happening."

Ellie shouted but she, like Anja, sounded miles away.

"Pictures, after you said Oin's name, I saw him in my mind, like I knew him..."

I managed to say before collapsing on the ground holding my head.

"Not pictures, memories..."

Ellie said in what sounded like a whisper.

"Halt, what business do you have on our land."

I heard a new voice say as the sound of hooves filled the air and the pictures were replaced with pitch black.

Becca's POV

I danced through the golden rays of sunlight piercing the ceiling of autumn leaves with a confused yet awestruck Thorin following behind me.

"How long until we get to Rivendell."

He grunted catching up to me.

"Thooorriiinnn I already told you, I have no idea I've never been here before."

I said feeling the slight breeze blow my now curly hair away from my face.
I took a strand of hair in my fingers and started giggling.

"What are you laughing about."

Thorin said finally smiling as he put his arm around my waist.

"I finally have hobbit hair!"

I said giggling again, running my hand through the dark brown long curly hair.

"I wonder if I would be a Baggins..?"

I whispered, but a second later Thorin collapsed in pain holding his head.

"Thorin? Thorin!"

I said falling to the ground beside him.

"Th..that name, I..I remember."

He said his voice shaky with pain as his eyes screwed shut and he reached out holding onto my tunic.

"Thorin, breathe. Stop trying to remember."

I said frantically whilst his heart beat increased almost to the point of being able to hear it.

"Thorin, look at me you stubborn dwarf!"

I yelled in desperation as he finally looked up with glassy eyes.

"I remember..."

He said before passing out in my arms.
I pulled him closer into me and looked around, the sun was setting and we were nowhere near Imladris.

"Oh Mahal help us."

I said carrying Thorin off the road, he was heavier than he looked.

"Stubborn, dwarf."

I said bitterly under my breath.

"Never listens."

Wrapping Thorin in my jacket smiling at the fact elves don't feel the cold.

"Let's hope the Shire is still safe."

I said to the unconscious Thorin, trying to reassure myself.

*time skip to the middle of the night*

Thorin was still unconscious and the dark had settled leaving a thin crisp mist hanging in the air.
I heard a screech in the distance which made my blood run cold.

"Orqu."

I whispered in elvish as my brain started to panic.

"Oh god please Mahal make sure the others are safe."

I prayed, slowly drawing my long swords from their sheathes and standing protectively over Thorin.

"If you want him, come and claim him."

I whispered laughing under my breath at the reference.
The screeching got closer and closer until I could just make out small shadows from my right.

'Come on Thorin wake up.'

I thought as my heart fluttered rapidly in my chest and my hands grew slightly sweaty from fear.

"Lookie what we 'ave 'ere boys, two nice looking snacks."

A venomous voice sneered as almost 10 shadows approached where Thorin and I were.

"Orc filth."

I snarled turning my swords in my hands.

As the first three orcs ran at me I crossed my swords and blocked their dagger blades, spinning around I managed to slice ones neck and I caught another's shoulder.

"A little help here would be great."

I said gritting my teeth as another three rushed at me, now having to fend off five orcs.
Killing another two I managed to look back and see two more approaching Thorin.

"Oh no you don't."

I shouted moving to block them from getting to Thorin who was still unconscious but somehow looked close to waking up.

"Stand aside."

One hissed throwing his dagger at me just missing my shoulder as I moved round to try and kill the other Orc.
Once I managed to slice his neck the other orcs had gathered around Thorin and me, cornering us against the tree.

"Now would be a good time to wake up Thorin..."

I whispered hoping by some miracle he would wake up and help.

I screamed in pain as an Orc dug his dagger into my leg causing me to collapse to the ground.

"Forgive me Thorin."

I said turning to him before raising my swords trying to fight off five orcs on my knees.
As one re-opened the cut I already had on my cheek I dropped the sword in my left hand.
My head dropped in tiredness from fighting and blood loss and another Orc hit me in the side of my head.
Laying on the forest floor bleeding I tried to look for Thorin but my vision blurred.

"Thorin.."

I croaked out, my throat dry with fear and pain.
I saw three orcs come towards where I had fallen and lay helpless. One had his dagger outstretched towards my face grinning evilly, but just before he stabbed a sword appeared protruding from his chest. The others turned but not before one kicked me in the head and the world turned black once again.
