These Words

I wrote these words

So many years ago

I didn’t have anyone in mind

I was a lonely man

Giving all he had

To find something to do with his time

I took my pen to hand

And wrote these words so sad

They always make me cry

And every now and then

I look back and then

I almost wish that I had died

Because living isn’t so easy

When you are only pleasing

Nobody, but yourself

No it isn’t easy

To find the peace your needing

When you’re alone, all by yourself

Then you came along

I wrote a brand new song that

Made me want to live again

All the pain and sorrow

Gone until tomorrow

Please won’t you be my friend

It was then you told me

You would never let go of me

You needed me like I needed you

So onward together

Through all kinds of weather

I’m not alone now I have you

Now living is so easy

With you girl, believe me

I don’t need anybody else

Baby you and me

So young and free

It’s better together than by ourselves
