As Dawn Eases In    

I wake up in bed

A dream of you in my head

So real it brings a smile to my face

I reach out to see

If you’re really here with me

But instead of your warm touch, I feel empty space

I reach for the light

Pretend everything is alright

But the emptiness reminds me you’re gone

The tears in my eyes

The aching so deep inside

Tell me it’s time to move on

As dawn eases in

I awake once again

To feel your body warm, close to me

I look in your eyes

I see no more good-byes

And the words I love you mean for all time
