They are watching.

Steven Grant Rogers stood in front of the desk of Stark Tower, now called Avengers Tower. All he had was a single box with files inside. He had left everything that SHIELD had given him in that small, dark, cold apartment with a handler watching his moves. He knew the apartment was bugged but he didn't care. At least the bed had been soft. Now he was moving to the new place he had been ordered to go to. He could do this. The secretary had called and told him that Stark would be down momentarily. He stood in the corner, almost completely overlooked. Once Stark had entered the Lobby, the smile he had on his face vanished for a moment. A smirk flew up a few moments later.

"Capsicle! Glad you accepted my offer! I'll call and have movers bring the rest of your stuff! Did you park in the garage?" Tony Stark motioned as he spoke, glancing at the box. Stevie wasn't stupid. He knew this was a test.

"Yes, sir. I was directed to a parking spot. This is all I have. Everything else was provided by SHIELD." Steve simply stated, shrugging his shoulder just the slightest bit. Stark snorted as he nodded in acknowledgement of what He said.

"Let me give you a tour of the Tower. Starting with the special elevator all the Avengers will be using." Stark led the way to a private elevator. "We don't have to worry about security for this elevator as Jarvis will be supervising everything! We'll head to the training room first as it's the lowest floor of all the Avengers floors. If you need anything or want to decorate your floor, just let him know. He can't tell anyone about you or your health unless you grant him permission. I can access your floor but not your room."

The elevator doors opened as stark led him to the locker rooms. Indicating which locker was his and showed off the training area.
"Three to five stories of the best and cutting edge technology is available to help us improve our training. Along with personalized areas for each of us. The next level is medical.  Then there are the labs, which I'm sure you aren't interested in. I'll show you the common floor and the common kitchen. All the food there is for the team. It's free for everyone and you can eat anything you want!" Stark sounded very proud of that. Steve was shocked by the shear amount of food in the fridges and pantries and the massive walk in freezer that kinda creeped him out. Tony Stark nodded as he let Steve process that for a bit.

"What are the sizes of the rations we are allowed to eat?" The lost look in Steve's eyes made Stark uncomfortable.

"There's no more rationing on food. Eat whatever and whenever you want." Stark stated. Stevie couldn't read that expression but Howard's son had sounded annoyed. It was the same tone Howard had used when the experiment of withholding food and water had happened and Stevie knew he couldn't risk making a Stark mad. He still remembered that punishment.

"Thank you." Stevie tried to keep his voice even but he knew he had failed when Stark narrowed his eyes at him.

"No problem. I know SHIELD explained that to you already." That tone made him nod immediately. He knew it was pointless to challenge Stark, especially when that tone was used.

"Sorry. I forgot that." The persona was back in place. SHIELD never explained anything. They gave him a piece of plastic and a box with files about how everyone and everything he knew was gone or forever changed. He knew Stark was informed of him. It didn't matter what Stevie knew though. It didn't matter that he didn't know anything about this time. Stark showed him his floor.

"This is your floor. It only has a few pieces of furniture and you just need to ask JARVIS to order a bed you like along with anything else you need or want." Stark stated, sounding done with the interaction. Steve nodded, thanked him again, and watched as Stark left.

The eyes were back a minute later. It was different than SHIELD or whatever/wherever Jarvis was watching from. It was confronting in a way. His room had a glass wall facing a big, abandoned building. Stark said that the glass was bulletproof so he was fine with it. He didn't bother turning the lights on. There, sitting in the closet were the biggest, fluffiest and softest comforters he'd ever seen. They were the exact shade of blue that was his favorite with soft pastel stars.

It was hidden, along with a weighted blanket and a big stuffy that was infused with lavender. It was a soft pastel green and had spikes. A single footed pajama with small rocket ship patterns on the thick, cotton set was hidden in a zipper at the bottom of the stuffy. He made a small pile on the floor of the barren room and drifted off, still feeling the eyes watching. He slept soundly for three hours. When he woke up, he changed into his clothes from earlier and explored the empty floor. Each room was sound proofed. There was a strange black box sitting on the wall across from a sofa that was probably worth more than his life was. He was never going to sit on it. He couldn't afford to replace it if he broke it.

He went back into his room and folded up the blankets and the stuffy and put them back. The eyes disappeared once he was heading towards the elevator, muttering about food. The elevator took him to the common floor where he spotted Dr. Bruce Banner holding a metal pad.

"Hello, Captain Rogers. How are you?" Bruce Banner wasn't looking at him but he waved anyways.

"Good afternoon, Dr. Banner. I am fine. I was surprised that there was a set of sleepwear in my room and the blankets were so much better than anything I've ever touched before! . How are you?" He accidentally slipped into the Irish accent he had before the USO persona and was rambling, his hair messed up and it was clear he hadn't been awake for long. He probably had a concussion from the mission he had completed before moving into the tower. He didn't notice though, hesitating to grab a few protein bars. Dr. Banner was staring right at him, an unreadable expression on his face.

Did he do something wrong? He immediately placed the protein bars back and retreated/raced to the stairs and was back in his room before Banner could process it.

Banner grabbed three of the boxes and took the elevator down to the Captain's floor. The door to Captain Rogers' room was locked. He couldn't hear anything. He placed the boxes on the coffee table and headed up to the labs to talk to Tony. It was disconcerting to see the legendary man in a state that wasn't pulled together. When he got to Tony's lab, he wasn't surprised to see Tony Stark replaying the encounter over and over.

"I didn't know he could move that fast." Tony murmured, concerned. Banner nodded.

"Did you really get him pajamas and blankets?" Bruce asked, a bit more curious than concerned.

"No. I think Nat or Legolas did. Or Thor, who was able to send a message. Point Break will be back on Monday. SHIELD lied to us. Capsicle was thawed a week before the aliens showed up. They told me it was three months. They also probably lied about everything they told him. I didn't want him to freak out so I didn't introduce JARVIS to him and JARVIS won't tell me what he was up to since I showed him around. I know JARVIS will alert me if he's hurt himself but I also don't want to overstep. I only know what my dad and Aunt Peggy told me. I don't know what to believe about him." Tony restarted the video again.

"I know. Everyone has learned about him. We've all looked up to him as the prime example of how to behave and the propaganda has to be based on the truth. He's already lost more weight than is recommended. You said he only left his apartment for the gym or missions only. I think we should let him set the pace for non-mission related activities, schedule, and socialization." Banner offered. "Did you listen to the audio fully?"

"No. JARVIS had subtitles. Let me listen." He was shocked at the soft accent the Captain had. "Huh. Why'd he loose it?"

"It probably wasn't conscious on his part. I wonder why he was faster in that run than during the invasion." Banner started taking notes on his tablet. Tony helped him look at footage of the invasion, for science. The entire uncounted forgotten and wouldn't be remembered by either genius.
