I woke up in the middle of the woods. I lifted my head and looked at my paws...wait, paws? They were a burgundy color. I looked at the trees, for they were a different color than green. They were almost grey. I took in a deep breath through my nose, smells overwhelming my senses. I could smell the pines, a fire, and somebody's, body odor?

I sneezed. My ears perked up when I heard a car pass by. Wait a minute. We are in the middle of the forest! I grinned at that discovery. I could hear more than I could in my human state! And smell, of course. I took a couple of steps forward, just to get used to walking on all fours. After a while of walking forward, I took off running. I ran at the speed of light! I kept running and running until I got exhausted.

While I was panting, I heard a stick crack. I looked north, the direction of the crack. It was a squirrel. I was a bit hungry I guess.

I crept up to it, the innocent thing not knowing I'm there. Finally, I pranced on the animal, biting the head with my powerful jaws. I ripped the flesh off, eating it all in one swallow. Raw meat tasted almost sweet, like nectar, yet bitter at the same time.

I started running to burn the meal off when I could hear somebody behind a tree. I stopped in my tracks. I saw a figure walk out from behind the tree.

He stopped when he saw what I was.
