Chapter Fifteen: "You're so annoying."
Word Count: 27,192
Narrator's POV:
*tips hat* Readers. Pleasure to be able to tell this story once again. Today I will be telling the story of two people who have a rather... what's the word... cute? No. Heart warming tale. One of these people is a girl named Haruno Sakura.
Her hair was as beautiful and pink as the flowers she was named after. To some, she seemed like the essence of spring. Her emerald green eyes only adding to that thought. Though not many recognized it. She was naturally beautiful. Her figure was strong yet feminine.
Sakura's personality was... unique. She was kind, understanding, and caring. However she could be rather hot-headed and could lose her patience rather quickly with certain people. Like a certain ramen loving blonde.
She was born a single child. To two loving parents. They were a fairly average couple. However their daughter... Did I forget to mention her hobbies? Sakura not only was on Konoha High's archer team. But she participated in boxing and martial arts.
She was very active. And because of her hobbies, she started to work out in her sophomore year. This ended up giving her a nice figure. However she only saw it as a bonus to her becoming stronger.
Moving on, Sakura had a best friend. Her name was Ino Yamanaka. You'll learn about her later. They had the most adorable nick-names for each other. Ino would call Sakura Forehead and Bill Board Brow. Sakura would call Ino, Pig and Ino-Pig. Adorable, no?
Anyway, by the time you all entered the story. Sakura was in her senior year of high school. She had turned 17 in her junior year, making it 8 months since her birthday. Since it was November and Thanksgiving had just passed.
However I'm sure that's not what you want to read about. Her love life would be much more interesting no? I think so as well. The pinkette had been in love with a boy named Sasuke Uchiha since the second grade. Then again, as were most girls. But unlike most girls she love was real. She didn't like him only for his looks. In the third grade she was assigned a seat between Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, for the whole year.
During this time her and the two rivals became rather close. They were her best friends besides Ino-Pig. In this time, Sakura learned a lot about the young Uchiha. And no matter how cold or distant he became, she would always be able to pull him back. She gave her whole heart to him. And many times he would break it or leave without a second thought. However, she would recover. Every time. Even if he made it so very clear he wanted nothing to do with the pink haired girl.
"Sakura..." Sasuke glanced back at the hopeful girl who had just confessed her feelings to him for the millionth time it seemed. "You're so annoying."
There was a good ten feet distancing him from the pinkette. They stood in the middle school hallway. The sun was lowering in the sky, sending beautiful pinks and oranges across the sky. It was nearing 6:30. She would be home late. But she didn't care about that right now.
Sakura's heart shattered. She felt like she couldn't breath. "Wha... what do you mean...?"
He didn't even turn around to look at her. "I mean your annoying. Your always following me. Calling out to me in that irritating voice of yours. Just leave me be already."
Tears pricked the Haruno's eyes. She didn't understand. She just wanted to be with him. But... to stop being around him all together... she couldn't.
"Is that really what you want Sasuke-kun?!" She sobbed. "You want me to leave you alone completely? I- I can't do that! I can't be happy without you! I just want to understand you... Please.. Please just give me a chance to understand..." Her legs started to wobble, her emotions pouring out of her like a waterfall. Her shoulders shook with her sobs as they filled the silence between the two.
"You can't understand, Sakura." The Uchiha started to walk away.
Sakura's eyes widened in panic. Before she knew what she was doing, she was running. Sprinting. He couldn't leave. Not like this. She grabbed his hand as soon as she was able. He stopped walking and looked back at the crying girl.
"Sasuke-kun please. You don't even have to return my feelings! But I can't leave you alone! I- I love you! Please just let me in..."
Sasuke tugged his arm out of her grasp. He clicked his tongue and continued to walk down the hall. Sakura fell to her knees as she watched him go. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when he stopped at the corner. Wasn't he leaving her?
"Sakura... You really want to understand?" He asked her, his bangs hanging in his face so she couldn't see his eyes.
"Y-yes."
It was silent. Sakura thought he was just going to walk out of her life. Right there. As a final goodbye. However his next words shook her yet warmed her heart at the same time.
"I'll see you on Monday. Ja," with that he turned the corner.
Sakura sat stock still for what must've been four minutes before a smile tugged at her lips and she wiped away her tears.
"Ja."
(A/N "Ja" means "See you" or "See you later".)
After that, Sasuke slowly let Sakura in. They grew closer and closer. However, as they entered their junior year of high school, this angered many of his fan girls. One in particular, being a girl named Karin Uzumaki and her followers. Now Karin was... different to say in the least. She only liked Sasuke for his looks, and she was just about as shallow as it gets. I like to this that deep down Karin is a nice person... But maybe not.
You see one day her and her followers apparently had enough of Sakura being close to "their" Sasuke. They decided to confront her about it.
Sakura was grabbing a few textbooks out of her locker when she heard her least favorite voice.
"Hey, you pink haired freak." Karin spat. Sakura sighed and closed her locker before turning around to met the gazes of Karin and her followers.
She gave them a bored look, "Yes Karin?"
"At least look like you wanna hear what I'm gonna say!" The red head fumed. Sakura tilted her head, "But why would I pretend?"
Karin growled. "You little-"
"What do you want Karin?" Sakura asked, cutting her off. She was annoyed with her already and she had only been in her presence for a minute.
"I want you to stay away from my Sasuke." She said smugly.
Sakura's eye brows furrowed in irritation. "First of all. He's not yours, he doesn't belong to anybody. Second, don't tell me what to do. I'll do as I please." She eyed the Uzumaki for a second before turning on her heel to walk off.
However, Karin wasn't gonna let that happen. Sakura yelped at the sharp pain in her scalp. Karin had a fistful of her long pink locks, keeping her from leaving. Karin yanked her hair and Sakura grimaced in pain.
"What do you think your doing?!" Sakura screeched. "Let me go!"
Karin tugged her hair again and smirked. "Tell me Sakura, have you heard the rumor that Sasuke likes girls with long hair? Are you growing yours out for him?" Karin looked back at her followers. "What do you guys think Sasuke would think of Sakura if we gave her a little trim?"
Sakura's eyes widened and she started struggling more despite the horrid pain in her skull. "Karin don't you dare!"
She watched in horror as one of Karin's followers pulled a pair of scissors out of their backpack, and handed them to Karin.
Tears filled Sakura's emerald green eyes, "Karin please!"
Karin grinned. "Hold her down."
Sakura squeezed her eyes shut and let her tears flow.
Snip.
Snip.
Snip.
It seemed like hours until they finally stopped. Her head felt lighter, and her chest felt empty from all the crying she did. She slowly opened her eyes only to met blood red eyes.
"What do you think girls? We did a good job, no?" Karin laughed and her followers joined her. Sakura brought a shaking hand up to her now short hair. She fiddled with it for a second before looking back up to the burning gazes that were staring at her.
"Leave me alone..." She muttered shakily.
Karin brought a hand to her ear. "Huh? Sorry what was that?"
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" Sakura screamed. Karin took a startled step back. She was not expecting that.
"Sakura?"
All eyes landed on the sight of the infamous Sasuke Uchiha who stood at the end of the school hall. Sakura's face flushed in embarrassment and she turned away, not wanting him to see her like this. As Sasuke made his way towards the group Karin's followers made a run for it, leaving behind Karin and Sakura.
Karin let out a nervous laugh. "Sasuke! I thought you went home! You usually would have left already since it's a Tuesday..."
Sasuke ignored her and kneeled down next to Sakura. He moved her hair out of her face, trying to look at her. Sakura skillfully avoided his gaze. His gaze traveled over her face.
'She's been crying.' He thought.
"Sakura," He whispered. "Sakura look at me." When she didn't he turned to Karin.
"Karin, what did you do?" He growled. Karin squeaked in fear. "I-I found her like this! Yeah! Me and my friends did. So we-we stopped to ask her what was wrong."
Sasuke glared at her, clearly not believing what she was saying. "Why is there a pair of scissors in your hand then?"
The Uzumaki quickly hid her hand behind her back. "Wha-what do you mean?"
"Leave."
"B-but-"
"Leave!"
Karin sniffled and took off running down the hall. Sasuke sighed then turned his attention back to his friend.
Sakura was now wiping her face with her sleeve. She sniffled and turned her head to the side, trying to hide her face from him the best she could.
"Sakura," Sasuke called again. "She's gone." Sakura nodded in response, still not looking at him. "Look at me, Sakura. Please."
The pinkette slowly turned her head to look at him. Her face was flushed and her emerald eyes were bloodshot from crying. He slowly cupped her cheeks and brought her face up more. Her eyes widened and heat rushed up her face.
Before she could properly react, he was kissing her.
(A/N YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS)
Sakura forgot the current situation and melted in the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. They stayed like that for awhile. Only parting when a teacher found them and demanded they separate immediately.
After that Sasuke and Sakura entered a secret relationship. Only secret as to not upset Sasuke's fan girls and have another horrible thing happen to Sakura.
Now, that's as far as I'm allowed to go since its now caught up to our main story. However I can still tell Sasuke's story.
Uchiha Sasuke was born into a wealthy family, and as a younger brother as well. His older brother, Uchiha Itachi, was the pride of their family. Their father, Uchiha Fugaku, would constantly compare Sasuke's accomplishments to those of his older brothers. Because Sasuke didn't accomplish all that Itachi did before him. Fugaku would spend little time with the younger Uchiha.
When Itachi noticed the neglect Sasuke was receiving from their father Itachi tried to step up for his younger brother. He often tried to be the father figure Sasuke lacked. However because of his busy schedule, doing so was difficult.
Sasuke often ended up alone when at home. Either that or spending time with his mother, Uchiha Mikoto. Mikoto was a kind woman, patient, and understanding. However, like most mothers, scary when made mad.
Now when it came to looks, you can say Sasuke was blessed by Kami himself. He was, in the least, gorgeous to most of the female race. And to quote his mother, "The most adorable kid in the world!"
Despite belonging to a wealthy family, Sasuke attended a public school. This is where he met Naruto Uzumaki. Instantly he took a disliking to the boy. He was loud, obnoxious, and always getting in trouble because of his pranks. Naruto couldn't help but feel the same way towards to quiet, cold boy who attracted the attention of every girl in their class. Even his beloved Sakura-chan.
Ah, yes. This is also when he meets Sakura. At first he thought nothing special of the girl. She was just another fan girl to Sasuke. But the next year when he was assigned the same group as her for the entire year. He noticed that the way she looked at him changed. Instead of just looking at his facial features like most of his fan girls did. She focused more on his eyes, and little habits.
Very slowly, he noticed that the way he perceived her voice in his head changed. Instead of getting annoyed upon hearing it, he would get a warm feeling in his chest. Pink suddenly became his favorite color (very much against his will). Every time his eyes landed on the pink haired girl, that feeling in his chest would return. As they got older this never changed. Sasuke didn't understand why he was feeling the way he did whenever he was with the pinkette. Nor did he understand what it was in general. Instead, he simply deemed the feeling 'annoying'.
When they were in middle school, Sakura hit puberty. Which turned the heads of quite a few of their classmates. This, for some reason, infuriated Sasuke. Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew the feeling was actually jealousy. However he dismissed it and deemed it untrue.
Without the Haruno's knowledge, Sasuke threatened every boy who looked her way. The only person he never threatened was the dobe himself. Despite Naruto's constant tries at the girl, she would constantly turn him down. Whether it was nicely or with a punch to the head. Either way, he knew she had no interest in Naruto other than to be his friend.
When high school rolled around, Sasuke and Sakura grew much closer. She was the closest friend he had besides the dobe. But they were both something entirely different to him. However, the dobe eventually gained enough of Sasuke's trust for him to tell the him about Sakura. In fact, his cover was almost blown when he told him about it.
The bell rang loudly and Sasuke quickly escaped his sophomore math class. He took a deep breath as he walked to where he usually met up with Naruto before getting lunch. The Uchiha had decided that today would be the day he told Naruto about his feelings for Sakura. It took him a while, but he finally realized he liked her. A lot. To sum it up his feelings towards her were strong.
When Naruto noticed Sasuke walking towards him he waved at him. "Teme! Over here!" When Sasuke got over to him, he rolled his eyes. "I could see you already, dobe."
The blonde rolled his eyes back at him. "Yeah, yeah. So what did you want to tell me?"
Sasuke started to walk off towards the cafeteria. "Let's get lunch first." Naruto jogged up beside him. "Yeah! I was starving, dattebayo!" After getting lunch they chose a table off in the corner of the cafeteria away from everyone else.
"So, what did you want to tell me?" Naruto asked before biting into his burger. Sasuke stared down at his own burger as he contemplated whether or not he was actually gonna tell him.
"I..." Sasuke trailed off. 'I can't do this.'
Naruto gave him a confused look. "You...?" Naruto gasped and Sasuke rose an eyebrow at him. "Oh my kami, are you gay?!"
Sasuke's eyes widened in horror. "No way! Shut up dobe!"
Naruto laughed. "But seriously, what's going on?"
Sasuke gulped. "I- I have... feel... feelings for- for Sa..." He grew silent before quietly saying, "Sakura..."
"You WHAT?!" Naruto yelled. Every head in a ten foot radius of the two turned to look at him. Which unfortunately included Sakura and Ino who were just passing by with their lunches. Sasuke watched in horror as Sakura got that concerned look on her face.
'She's gonna come over here. No. No. No.'
Sasuke quickly looked back over to the now standing Naruto. "You- for- SA- mph!" Sasuke speedily stood and placed a hand over his mouth. "Keep your mouth shut!"
"Sasuke-kun?"
The two friends slowly looked over at Sakura and Ino. They stared at each other for a second before they pulled away from each other and sat down. Sasuke returned his attention to his lunch, while Naruto tried to play it off cool.
"Sakura-Chai, Ino! Sasuke and I were just messing around. Right teme?"
"Hn."
Sakura and Ino glanced at each other. "Uhhhhh. Okay?" Ino gestured to the empty seats across from them. "May we sit?"
"Sure thing Ino!"
"Hn."
After that Sasuke heavily regretted telling Naruto anything. Sasuke could always keep his cool when around Sakura. But occasionally he would crack just a tiny bit. And if Naruto was there, he noticed. And Sasuke would hear about it for weeks.
Otherwise, life for the Uchiha teen was good. After an incident in his junior year, regarding Sakura and a bully. Sasuke finally made Sakura his girlfriend. He was content with his life.
That is, until his senior year of Highschool. In the first month of school. Sasuke started receiving college letters. Since he had always had fairly impressive grades, they started flowing into the Uchiha mail box. Much like they had for Itachi.
This.... is as far as we can go for now. I apologize. The Author could not finish my script due to lack of sleep so this is where this chapter ends.
