Chapter 48

The ride was pretty calm and quiet which in turn caused Amaaya to have a boring time.

Amaaya hesitated biting her lips before turning aside to see Ishaan. She was doing it for the 'n'th whereas he did nothing but to go on with the drive.

Ishaan kept his eyes straight on the road so focussed as if he was participating in a car race or something. The thing is he didn't care about her existence. Or he didn't want to?

Without wasting much time, Amaaya started her work opening the dashboard. Through the corner of his eyes, Ishaan watched her only to avert it on the road again.

Amaaya let out a triumphant smile and began taking out things one by one. He really wanted to check what on earth was she doing there but didn't have the nerve to. She was busy carrying out its postmortem.

Afterwhich she was disappointed with his no response mode, she batted some of his files for sometime and looked at him to know if there was any response.

But there was none!

Few seconds later, she put on some music. To her dismay, it was a melodious one so that she changed to an irritating song. She snapped her head to take a glance at him. And ofcourse, it held no expression. Then she raised the volume drastically.

No response!

Atlast she turned off the music for the sake of her own eardrums. She breathed out before leaning over the seat.

Amaaya looked the one sitting beside her. She could not believe it was that same Ishaan who barks at her for each little things she does. Who makes her heart go crazy with his single glance. Who lets her stomach to feel the butterflies with his mere presence. Who makes that disgusted face for all those weird things she does.

Above all, he was her hot tempered phone breaker. Once!

Amaaya threw her eyes over the window blinking back her tears.

She missed him!

So much that her guilt hitted her like a sack of bricks.

All she cared was nothing but Faru. She could not even think of losing him. She gave him more importance than herself that she ended up giving up what she had ever wished for.

But it was too late for the realization.

Amaaya drove her gaze to his face. He looked all the same. Breathtaking as always. Except the frowns on his forehead indicating the tiring day he had.

After the post graduation, Ishaan turned to be a complete workaholic. When Shreya came his home, taking much care of his parents, he felt no more excuses to get away with  officeworks that he spent his days and nights over there.

Ishaan was not ready to let his Dad to work anymore as he started getting aged. He wanted his dad to take good care of him, being with his beloved wife and daughter.

That was him. He wanted everyone to be happy. Just avoiding his own.

Ishaan pulled into the driveway, bringing her back from the train of thoughts.

Amaaya was about to leave when her eyes caught someone on the roadside.

Candy uncle..

Her mind flashed light on the day when Ishaan almost gave an heart attack with his bouquet of cottoncandies.

Amaaya took a glimse of him for one last time. He seemed to be impatient, placing a hand on steering, waiting for her departure. She picked up her bag and tossed it over her shoulder before stepping out.

Candy uncle kept shifting his look from Ishaan and Amaaya, figuring out the thing.

Whilst climbing steps to her home, Amaaya wished he would be there waiting for her to get in. Just like he did the day when her phone got broken by him. But once she came to hear his car storming off, she could not help but felt a tear rolling down her cheek.

"WHat? Are you serious? This is nothing but just another prank, right?" Eby was taken aback from what he had just heard.

Not only him but everyone.

"No more pranks unless anyone's birthday is out." Farhan chukled. "They are hell serious yaar. That's why I told them to spit it out." He said, snatching the biscuit packet from Amaaya.

"How come you know each and every things happening in the whole universe?" Enquired Aju, munching his doritos.

"Afterall it's me Farhan." He served a mischievious smile to which Shreya shook her head in disbelief.

"Neil, I'm asking you. Is this all.. true?" Eby asked for the umptieth.

"Man, we are saying the truth. I, I really want to share the rest of my life with Rinu." Neil turned his right to see Rinu who was already smiling at him.

"Is n't it just 'aww'." Anjali clapped happily to which Eby shot her a glare.

"Well, did you talk to your parents?" Shreya shoot the real question.

"Nop! I have brought Elsie for this matter only. She is pretty good at it."

Amaaya rolled her eyes thinking of his dear sister, Elsie, who did not let Ishaan even to breathe, when she met her last time.

Elsie was nothing but a radio which keep ranting 'Ishaan' 24/7 or someone who made herself a wallet for him, making Amaaya to reach at the top level of annoyance.

"They won't stand against my wishes. Or else, I will seek help to Ishaan." The second he finished his line, everyone bursted out in a horrible laugh.

"Don't you just know Ishaan?" Aju passed a sarcastic chukle.

"He is only best at business deals. Not in human-being related things. Whereas I'm best at almost everything." Farhan grinned.

"And that sister of yours naa? She will be the death of Ishaan." Aju shook his head in disgust.

"Stop it yaar. She will be a nice pair for our robot." Farhan commented, trying to resist laugh.

"Farhan that's not the topic here." Shreya hissed.

"Ohh." He turned to be that obedient four year old again.

"You go and blast it to your parents. I'm sure they will agree. Because no decision taken here went wrong." Dany assured, bathing his new born baby bike.

With that, the trio took a glimse of their second home, com-villa, completely agreeing with Dany.

"Jeez, what am I hearing? You two shit-headed classmates of mine liked each other and didn't tell me about it?" Amaaya puffed out.

Farhan crossed his arms over chest as if he was expecting it. He knew well that her clock was two minutes slower than normal people.

"Calm down Ainu. Who told you we don't want to tell you? And you know how many times I tried to tell this freaking thing to you? But every time I tried, that robotic cousin of mine would get in the way." he paused shaking head.

"And I can't deny the fact that I'm a bit scared of him. Just a bit, okay? And you know what? The way he looks at me whenever I get closer to you is like that I'm gonna eat you or something." Neil whined making others to laugh out loud.

Amaaya hid the smile planted in her lips, "Don't say that your letters were all for her."

"Well, uhm, yes if I say the truth." Neil smiled.

"I flew it in the air hoping she would get it. But it got stucked with your little head. Then I thought it was better not say the truth that I could see her reaction."

"And I was all happy like a santa claus, right?" Rinu completed him letting out a small laugh as Neil pursed his lips.

"Whatever the situations, the potato one is Ainu by the end." Farhan commented giving way for a group laugh.

"Shut up!" She stood up and walked inside the home.

Amaaya was upto take her bag lying in the couch, when her eyes striked him. She could hear her heart beat getting wild at the sight.

Thinking for seconds, she took slow steps to kitchen where he was making his favourite thing. Yeah, the coffee.

She didn't care how he would react anymore. She was going to hear her heart.

And it sounded nothing. But him.

Just him..

Ishaan took out a new packet of coffee when she came in. He turned back to see who was it but went on with his work once he came to know it was her.

"Ishaan.." She began but he was too busy to hear.

"Ishaan?" She moved closer, hoping a single response.

"I'm.."

"What?" He asked without paying a look.

"Why you.." She sighed in frustration. "Why you are not even looking at me? I'm talking to you and you are busy over something else."

"What is there to talk huh?" Ishaan went on stirring the coffee.

"Ishaan, I'm..." She made up her mind to speak, holding back her tears.

Out of a sudden, his phone rang, letting her to loosen the thread of patience.

Ishaan picked up the call, "Yeah, Elsie."

Her face got changed at the mentioning of that name.

"No! I'm not home."

She waited for him to hang up, already getting irritated by their convo.

"Okay, I will tell her once I reach there."

One minute..

"No, it's okay. See you later."

"Now what?"

Two minutes..

"See Esliee, I mean.. Elsie, you can bring your friends to our guest house. But not our home, okay?"

"Stop it! Let me speak damn!"

Three minutes..

And it was too late for her to wait anymore.

Amaaya snatched his phone and slammed it to the ground where it shattered into a million pieces. Before he could figure out what had exactly happened, his phone had undergone its autopsy.

"What have you done? Are you gone mad?" His voice rose upto a level, thundering at her.

"I'm here to talk to you and what you are doing?" She heavied a sigh pausing.

"Making coffee, speaking with that eslie, oh, whatever her name is! As if I care correctly naming that cake face." She went on muttering.

"But I do care." He finally spoke up.

"Huh?" She blunted.

"I do care when someone intervene my personal matters." Ishaan moved closer to her making her to walk back and slouch against the counter.

"And when that someone is dare enough to throw my phone." His voice turned husky as he observed her now-turned-pale face carefully.

Amaaya would have jumped at the news that her typical Ishaan was back. But not in the moment when she was already freaking out by his close posture and deathly glare.

"Uh, ywuu, mm.." She already prepared a mental note to kill herself once she got home, for being dare rather stupid to break his phone.

Ishaan smirked. "Seems like you don't forget those chinese words of yours."

He looked her, expecting for a bold come back.

"I don't." Amaaya whispered, getting lost in his intense gaze.

"I don't forget anything Ishaan." For some odd reasons, he became uncomfortable with those words of hers.

"Ofcourse! You don't. You don't forget to dip biscuits. You don't forget to annoy Farhan on a daily basis. You don't forget to say the stupidiest things. Everything is the same. So what's with this now?"

"I don't even forget you, to love you. And I don't know how to. And even I don't want to." Amaaya stuttered as a helpless tear ran down her cheek.

Ishaan could not help but look into her eyes and get lost in her passionate gaze.

"I can't bear with this anymore. I can't bear with your change. I want you to shout at me. I want you to complain me. I want you to look at me the way you do. I want you so desperately." She admitted with a wound in her tone.

"But you left me. You left me Amaaya." He paused gulping. "Just as my parents did." Her heart skipped a beat as she could see the depth of hurt in his eyes.

Amaaya reached for his arms, without leaving his eyes. "Ishaan, I'm--"

"Please Amaaya." He swatted her hands away, looking down.

"I can't let you go again Ishaan. I, I want you. I want to spend each seconds of my life with you. I love you Ishaan." She took hold of his face, caressing. His heart stood still as he gazed up into her deep dark black eyes.

"I don't want to lose you." She burried her face down, still afraid of losing him.

Ishaan tilted her chin up letting her to face him. "You won't. I won't you give you any chance." He smiled his million dollar smile.

Her face lit up at his words as she found herself getting lost in his ever charming smile. Before she could speak, he hauled her into a hug. She kept smiling, taking hold of his tee.

Ishaan released her for once to leave a soft kiss on forehead before hugging her again.

"My biscuit girl.." he whispered smiling, making her to giggle.

Well, I know it's crazy but I'm gonna change the book title. Not now but only after the end. I had this feeling since long time but thought it would be better to change after the end.

If you have any suggestions, you can feel free to share here or just p.m me.
