After calming Marinette down which took a few hours, Alya and Chloe decided to have a sleepover at the apartment. Marinette gave her friends a smile full of gratefulness. Without her friends she will probably still be crying right about now. 

They ate dinner early since Alya wanted to start the movie night. Even though Marinette didn't feel like watching a movie but if it would make her friends happy then she would. Alya chose the movie and they started to watch the movie in silence while munching on some popcorn.

ALYA'S POV

I knew Marinette had to get her mind of Adrien. Every time she thinks of him she starts to feel guilty and cry again. Maybe seeing a movie would take her mind of some stuff I thought to myself.

"Hey, you girls up for a movie night?" I asked them. 

"Yes, great idea Alya" Chloe replied excitedly but Marinette face looked like she was hesitant.

"Come on girl, maybe watching movies will help you relax a bit" I said to Marinette. 

Marinette looked up and gave a small nod and said "okay Alya if you say so"

I smiled at her in return and went to choose a really funny movie. Chloe and Marinette joined me on the couch after making popcorn. Halfway through the movie Marinette's phone rang. I recognized it because I set up that ringtone for her. I paused the movie and waited for Marinette to finish her call. Suddenly I heard a thud coming from Marinette's room. 

Chloe an I shared a glance before getting up to go to her room. I knocked on the door but she didn't answer. "Hey girl you okay in there?" I asked starting to get worried. No noise was heard from the other side. the door was unlocked so we barged in to the room and saw Marinette fallen to her knees with stoic expression. 

MARINETTE'S POV

I picked up my phone and was greeted by my mother's voice on the other side of the line.

"Hi Marinette, how are you" 

"Hey maman, i'm fine"

"Marinette, i'm sorry to tell you this in such short notice but.." she paused 

"Maman why did you stop? Are you okay?" I asked starting to worry about her.

"I'm fine Marinette but we are moving to China the day after tomorrow. Your grandmother is not feeling well so we have to go and take care of her"

I went silent after hearing the news. My mind was blank but I could hear my mother's voice telling "I'm sorry honey, the decision has already been made. There is nothing we can do so I hope you understand. My phone slipped out of my hand and I fell to my knees.

No this can't be happening, what did I do to deserve this I thought to myself. I didn't hear Alya calling me or that they barged into my room. Alya and Chloe started to question what happened but I was to busy in my thoughts to answer. Without looking up I told them something I knew would surprise them.

"I'm moving to China the day after tomorrow" I said still couldn't wrap my head around what my mother just said. I could hear gasps coming from both of them. We did a group hug. Trying not to break into tears was the hardest part. All of us had no mood to continue the movie night so we fell asleep.

-The next day-

Marinette walked to the hospital with Alya and Chloe. It was the last day to see Adrien. Marinette was walking behind the Alya and chloe. Her head hung low for the whole walk not bothering to look up. Alya and Chloe shared a glance, they was also sad about the news but decided to not show it for Marinette sake. They didn't want her last memory with them to be an unhappy one. 

They entered Adrien's room and was shocked to see the people standing in front of them. Marinette looked up and gasped at the sight of seeing Gabriel Agreste and his assistant Nathalie inside the room. Marinette was frozen at her place. She always tried to avoid meeting them, not after what she had done to his son. She guessed that today was not her lucky day.

"Good morning girls" Gabriel said 

 Alya replied "Good morning Mr. Agreste"

"I hope you are all doing fine but may please speak to Marinette privately?"

 Marinette went pale after he had asked that. This is what she dreaded the most. Lots of scenarios came into her but none of them had a good outcome. She stared down at her shoe. The door to the room had closed. Everybody was out, she was now alone with the one and only Gabriel Agreste. 

"Marinette, I believe you know why I wanted to speak with you?"

Marinette cleared her throat to speak but nothing came out of her mouth so she nodded instead.

"Marinette I know you blame yourself for what had happen so i'm here to tell you -" Gabriel's words were interrupted by Marinette.

"I'm sorry I know your son deserves a better person. Don't worry after today I will no longer be a pain to you or your son. I will always love him but I know he deserves someone better...someone who does not hurt him like i-i did" Marinette said fighting the tears that were going to out.

"Marinette don't cry because I think you have  misunderstood what I wanted to say"

Marinette looked at Gabriel in disbelief. She was sure he was going to blame her because of Lila's story but she doesn't blame Lila. Even Marinette had blamed herself.

"Yes Marinette, I don't blame you" Gabriel continued saying probably sensing her confusion.

"My son had told me once that he loved you very much and that he would sacrifice anything for you, I think this is what he meant but he also told me about Lila on how she lies to everyone mostly about you. Marinette you have made my son happy, the happiness he feels right now is like the ones he felt before his mother died. I am forever thankful to you" Gabriel said.

Marinette was feeling a little better after hearing that from her idol. But her heart still ached that she had to leave all this behind. Marinette gave Gabriel a small smile. 

"I'm grateful to be the cause of his happiness but it was still my fault. Thank you for not blaming me or forbidding me from seeing Adrien. I came here to actually say goodbye. I'm moving to China with my parents tomorrow." Marinette said 

"I hope you recover from all that has happen when you go to China. Also I heard you want to be a fashion designer. Adrien often told me this. Take my advice Marinette don't ever let the past stop you from being who you are. Don't let Lila get to you." Gabriel said to Marinette. He silently hopes Marinette becomes a fashion designer in the future.

"Thank you" 

Gabriel stood up and left with Nathalie trailing behind him. The girls came in and bombarded Marinette with question but Marinette could only say two words to them.

"Everything's alright"
