Nandini and Mukti were walking down the street on the way to their home which was just opposite to each other's house and just 15 minutes away from school. It was a pleasant weather without sunlight and cold refreshing air was blowing.
There was pin drop silence and as usual Mukti broke the silence and said," So Nans, what are you wearing tomorrow for our school's farewell party to which nandini replied, " yar mukti we are childhood friends and you know na i don't like parties and all that rubbish stuff. Parties are soo yucky all dirty people are there dancing like monkeys. Mukti said," Yar nandini just stop the crap, its not any sort of that rubbish party which u hate its our farewell dude! Last day in our school! Its so important how can u miss it nans" she said it altogether without even breathing and added i dont know but we are not missing it do you get that!!. Seeing Mukti panicking a lot, Nandini said," Ok fine baba we are going tomorrow okay now calm down and relax, take a deep breath and after listening to it mukti shouted, Aaaaa..... i knew it u wouldn't deny... thanx a lot nans i love u.... And Nandini said, slowly mukti people are staring us and dude, i said yes bcz i know u won't let me deny okay!! So don't act smart okay to which Mukti said, arey ab smart hoon toh smart act kyun nahi karu(winking) and after seeing at her wrist watch she said omg nans tum kiti batein karti ho its 3:30 pm comeon now lets go humko kal ke liye outfit bhi finalized karne hain so rush. Both rushed towards their house and directly went to their room (both stayed in same house, same room) and started looking for dresses and mukti said that we will wear same kind of dresses okay, and further added chal pehle apni dresses dikha jaldi se. Nandini took out all long suits and said to mukti, le dekh choose kar inme se i think yeh pink suit is awesome hai na? Mukti boli ohh man jst shut up kya suits nikal ke rakh diye chal hat mujhko dekhne de and she rushed towards her cupboard and takes out the pink coloured lehenga annd said le pakad isko pehenegi kal tu samjhi. Nandini started crying after seeing that lehenga and said,"mumma.... papa....!!" . Mukti realized and whispered, oh shit! this was gifted to her by her parents just few days back on her 17th birthday and i took it out, how fool am I, how could i do it!! And she turned towards Nandini and said," arey yeh nahi yeh wala pehen golden color looks pretty awesome on you". Nandini's footsteps started moving in backward position and sit on her bed like she was in a shock and all the old memories are in front of her, suddenly she sat down on floor and started crying and said, wiping her tears, what was my fault Mukti why they did this to me? Why they left me along at your parent's house and took my brother with them just after my birth. What have i done to them? Were they ashamed of me or they don't wanted a daughter that's why they took bhaiya with them and haan mere name pe just vo ek empty bunglow kar diya just to show that they were rich, and left me behind aur aj tak peeche mudkar ek bar bhi nahi dekha??...
Aur every year mere birthday pe yeh ek gift bhej dete hain just to hurt me or to make me realize that they aren't ready to accept me now also. The parcel doesn't even have any address or anything just so that i can't find them, (she stood up angrily and rushed towards the cupboard and took the lehenga out and threw it)
and said, jab unko mujhse koi matlab hi nahi hai toh yeh dress kyun bhejte hain vo, mujhko kuch bhi nahi chahiye unse, i hate them!! I just hate them mukti!!, she sat down on floor and begin crying by hiding her face in lehenga!
Mukti was so dissapointed because she unknowingly took out that lehenga and was cursing herself for doing it.
She but suddenly came out of the guilty mode and sat down on the floor just in front of nandini and kept that lehenga aside wiped her tears and said, nandini tum bohot selfish ho yaar tum bas apne bare mein sochti ho mera kya, haan? Tumne apna toh bata diya ke tumhare parents tumko yaha chod kr chale gaye but yeh nahi dekha ke vo tumko mere pas chod kar gaye hain, agar tum mere sath nahi hoti toh mera kya hota kon sambhalta mujhko mere is over-talkative version jo kabhi kabhi on ho jata hai usko kon dekhta haan, mera homework kon karta mera cupboard kon set karta haan aur subah subah mujhko uthata kon haan aur aur haan..... Nandini stopped her in between and said, " bas bas chup ho ja, Jyada butter lagane ki jarurat nahi hai haan". Mukti said, arey nahi poori bat toh sun, mera room koi aur cheen leta toh mera kya hota main kaha rehti, nandini said, wait wait room cheen leta matlab kya bol rahi hai tu? Mukti said, arey tujhko nahi pata kya yeh bada sa room islie hi mila hai mujhko because tu mere sath soti hai nahi toh vo bhai ka chota sa black and white room pakda dete mujhko so thank god ke tu hai mere sath nahi toh main mere hi room se nikali jati yaar!! Nandu tune bacha liya mujhko pta hai kya, nandu said shutup yaar aisa kuch nahi hai okay arey aisa hi hai and suddenly she started shouting, aaaaaaa.... nan... nan.... Nandini....vo...vo...vo, nandini said kya nan nan kar rahi hai bol na kya hogaya, mukti said, vo....cccc....cock...cock...cockroach and nandini started laughing waah yar tu cockroach se dar gayi matlab had hai mukti, And mukti said, yar ab meri kya galti hai tera cupboard hi itna ganda aur badbudar hai ki cockroach ajatey hain!! AB tu usko bahar nikal na chup chap, nandini said acha bachu mera cupboard ganda hai rehne de tune khud ka cupboard dekha hai 4 saal purani insects ki deadbodies nikalti hai usme se jb bhi main saaf karti hu okay? She stood in angry mode keeping her both hands on her waist. Mukti was thinking till now chalo atleast yeh cockroach ke karan she forgot about her parents and i am glad about that bcz i was responsible for it. Nandini picked up cockroach and threw that out of window, and till that time Mukti was standing on the bed, along with her eyes closed and face covered with her hands, after seeing mukti like this shee said, arey yar mukti you r 17 but still afraid of cockroach, comeon yar grow up to which mukti replied yeah nans as if u aren't afraid of mouse right!!. Nandini said ok fine come down now the cockroach is gone, Mukti comes down of the bed and said thankyou nans tu nahi hoti toh kya hota mera, chal ab tera golden lehenga final ho gaya toh mera bhi lenenga final krte hai, to which nans said rehne de maine pehle hi decide kar liya tha okay teri sari dresses ke bare mein pata hai mujhko okay (along with talking with mukti she was heading forward towards mukti's cupboard which was just next to her own cupboard), here it is you will wear this one and no arguments to which Mukti said okay yar i know i never say no to you. The door knocked and Mukti's mom said,"Mukti come out for dinner aur nandini ko bhi le ao and she entered the room, till then all the messed up room was cleaned by mukti and nandini ran towards washroom to clean her face so that Mukti's mom doesn't come to know about nandini's crying thing because she will not like it. Mukti's mom, Nyonika said coming inside," Kahan the tum dono school.se wapis aye aur ek bar bhi mujhse milne nahi aye bataya nhi nahi ke tum school se agye, 4 bje school se atey ho tum aur abhi it's 8 o' clock i mean atleast inform toh kar dia hota, i was so worried and maine kitne call kie tum dono ko, call tum uthatey nahi ho(she said all that in one breath, meanwhile nandini came out wiping her face) and said,"offo mom( nyonika has said nandini to call her mom) ap kitni tension lete ho ap apna phone dekho maine apko text kar diya hai ki we have reached home and i know apne vo check kar liya hoga its just that ap humse bat krne ke liye excuse dhoond rahe the, to which, Nyonika replied arey nandu tum bhi na kabhi bhi mukti ko apni responsibilities ka ehsaas hone nahi dogi toh kaise chalega, tumhi ne sar pe chadhaya hai isko, to which nandini replied, aisa kuch nahi hai mom mukti ne hi mujhko remind karwaya apko msg krne ka!!. Mukti said,"Arey bas karo yar ap dono shuru ho jatey ho main bhi hoon yaha pe! Mom dinner ka kya hal hai? Nyonika said, "arey haan main toh bhool hi gayi main tumko dinner ke liye hi toh bulane ayi thi chalo chalo jaldi se ajao tum dono...... Mukti and nandini went outside the room and came down the stairs and sit at the dinning table to eat food, all started eating food silently and mukti to break the silence asked," mom where is dad?", to which Nyonika said as usual he is having a meeting so he is in that meeting and he said that he'll come late and also will eat outside only... Mukti said, ohh yar dad ke pas kabhi hamare liye time nahi hota always busy in his business!. Nandini said,"aisa nahi hai mukti vo just abhi busy hain islie so tum dinner karo and chalo hum walk pe chalte hain. After having dinner, all three went on the terrace for walk for half an hour and came back on 10 pm and nandini and mukti went to their room and talked till 11 pm about whatever happened in whole day and just begin gossiping and at 12 pm Nyonika again knocked the door and came inside the room and said them to drink milk and go to sleep, after drinking milk they both slept very quickly and were excited about the farewell.....
