6- the one and only
Millie's pov
"Happy Monday everyone!!! This week isn't going to be a normal week, this is why we have you all in the auditorium." The principal said. I leaned back in my seat, ready for a long speech.
"Okay, so every year, like always, we have a week where we partner you up with a person, but the person is either complete opposite of you, you don't have good history with, or you don't like each other. You will do this for the whole week, and by the end of the week, you should be friends with them. We try this every year to see what the outcome will look like, and we hope to find a good outcome. We have already picked your person, in your homeroom, there should be a sheet with your name on it, and the person you have for the week next to your name. Now, there are rules to this. First..." he continued, but I didn't listen. I was anxious for who my person was gonna be.
"Okay, you are all dismissed, go straight to homeroom, then 1st period." He said after the long speech, and everyone made their was to their homerooms. I got into mine last, and everyone looked at me. They all started to leave the classroom, and random people kept coming up to me, wishing me good luck. Oh no. I finally went up to my name, and saw who I was partnered with.
The one and only, Finn Wolfhard.
I walk to 1st period, and Finn has that class with me. I walk in, and I don't see Finn. I start to walk to my seat, but then I feel hands on my hips. They push in, and I scream, falling to the ground. I turn around, and it was Finn.
"Let me help you." He said, walking so where I can see him, and grabs my hand. He lifted me up, and I put faces got close together. He had to look down at me a little, because I was shorter than him. We kept our gaze, and he was still holding onto my hand.
"I'm glad you are my partner." He said, smiling. I looked away, breaking our eye contact. I felt my cheeks get warm, so I let go of his hand and walked to my seat. I smile slightly, and sat down.
"Okay guys, we are doing something completely different since this partner thing. So, get with a partner of your choice, and I will hand out a poem, and you guys have to figure it what goes where, according to Shakespeare We will be doing this the whole class period." She said. Everyone started to move around and get a partner, but I didn't move, because I usually don't go with a partner for these things, and my teacher doesn't mind. While I was doodling a flower on my paper I had put, I saw someone sit in front of me, but didn't look at them. I looked up after a second, and it was Finn.
"Let's be partners." He said, and I rolled my eyes, and went back to drawing. I felt him lightly kick my foot, then I set my pencil down, and looked at him.
"Okay. Fine." I said, before the teacher handed us the papers. I got up and sat next to Finn, so we can see each other's papers. He watched me as I did so.
"Okay, so we have to find the ridge of when you are supposed to spike the word up, making it louder." I said, and he nodded, looking at me. I started to do it, and circled each word that we were supposed to use. I stopped when I noticed he wasn't doing anything.
"You can stop staring at me and do this worksheet now, Finn." I said, looking over to him. He smiled as he started to work on the worksheet, and I just shook my head and smiled. After a while, we finished the worksheet, and I realized we still had a half hour of class left. Everyone was still working on it.
"So, I guess we are going to hang out all week, then." He said.
"I wonder if I can switch my partner." I said, and he laughed.
"You're stuck with me, better get used to it." He said, looking over to me. I rolled my eyes and got up, and went back to my seat. He was across from me now, looking at my arm. I noticed my sleeve was up a little more than usual, then quickly pulled it down.
"Why do you always wear long sleeves?" He asked me.
"Why do you always wear long sleeves?" I asked him.
"I asked you first." He said, leaning back in his chair.
"No reason." I said, leaning onto my desk, putting my elbow on the table and resting my chin in my hand.
"Me too, but I think there is a reason behind it." He said.
"You always think there is a reason behind everything I tell you." I said, which made him smile.
"Is that bad?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Maybe." I said, looking over to the teacher.

"So who did you guys get for partners?" Sadie asked, as we all sat down at lunch.
"I got Noah." Grace said, rolling her eyes.
"I got Gaten." Maddie said, having an annoyed face.
"I got Caleb." Sadie said, with a normal face on.
"Who did you get?" Sadie asked.
"Finn." I said, and they laughed.
"I like how we got stuck with the group that we hate, and the group that hates us." Sadie said, and she laughed.
"We should do things as a group too, since we are all friends and they are all friends." Maddie suggested, and we nodded.
It's only Monday, this is going to be a long week. Especially the fact that I have to hang out with Finn all week. After about 5 minutes, I saw the group of boys walk up to our table. They sat down. Finn sat across from Caleb and next to me, I sat across from Sadie and next to Grace, and Grace sat across from Maddie and sat next to Noah. Noah sat across from Gaten.
"What are you doing here?" Sadie asked the boys.
"We are partners, we have to." Caleb said, and all the girls groaned, except me. The guys laughed, and started to talk to each other. I put my lunch box away because I finished my lunch, and then I got my phone out. I was on Instagram, just scrolling through, when I felt a stare on me. I looked up to Finn.
"Stop staring at me." I said, rolling my eyes.
"I'm not staring at you, I'm waiting for you to make conversation." He said. I didn't respond back, and I felt my phone in my hands get taken away.
"Give me my phone back." I told Finn, as he stretched his arm away from me so I couldn't reach it.
"Talk to me." He said.
"Fine." I said, and he slowly gave my phone back to me, and I put it in my pocket.
"So, since we are all a group, we should all do something together, so it doesn't have to be just you and your person." Sadie said, and we nodded.
"Like what?" Gaten asked. We all were putting ideas out, and they decided on going to the movies, since we all like to watch movies. We are going tomorrow, after school.

The day finally ends, and I get home. My mom is getting home at 5:30, so I have the house to myself for a while. I decide to do something, because why not. First, I go upstairs and change into some joggers and a cropped short sleeve shirt. I don't wear short sleeve shirts much, because I can't look at my arms. I get disappointed in myself when I do. But nobody was home, so I just put on a T-shirt for the time. I grabbed my speaker and started to blast my music. I grab one of my moms 500 piece puzzles, and set it down on the living room table. I sit down in front of the couch, and spread all of them out. After a while, I have all the edges connected, and then I hear a knock on the door. Assuming it's my mom, and she forgot the keys. I walk over to the door, and open it, and see that it's Finn. He looks at me and smiles, and looks at my outfit. Shoot, short sleeve. I quickly shut the door, but then open it up a little.
"Hold on." I said, shutting the door. I go upstairs and put on a cropped hoodie, and then go back downstairs. I open the door and he's still there. I turned my speaker down, because it was really loud. I let him in, and he walks in.
"You didn't get my text?" He said.
"No, what was it?" I asked him.
"I said I was gonna come over, because I wanted to talk." He said, sitting down in front of the couch where I sat down.
"Oh." I said, starting to work on the puzzle again.
"Why did you change when I got here?" He asked me. Ummm, shoot.
"Uh, no reason." I said, looking back down to the puzzle.
"There's obviously a reason." He said, looking at me. I looked at him, and he leaned in and gently took one of my arms in his hand.
"Finn, let go of my arm." I said, looking at him straight into his eyes.
"Why?" He said, not breaking eye contact.
"Because I said so." I said, still looking at him. He started to slide his hand down to my wrist, and he flipped my arm over. He took his other hand, and started to pull my arm of my hoodie up, but I slapped it, and pulled it down.
"Finn! No." I said, and grabbed both of his hands and took them off of mine.
"You're hiding something." He said, interested in me.
"I'm always hiding something. You don't know anything about me. I'm not an open book, you know." I said, mumbling the last sentence. There was silence for a while, but then we started to talk more. We worked on the puzzle, and after a while, someone came inside. It was my mom.
"Hi Mom, Finn is over by the way." I said, watching her walk in the door.
"Hi Finn!! So are you two dating or just friends?" My Mom asked us.
"Friends." Finn and I said at the same time, a little too quickly. My mom started talking to us a little bit, then went upstairs. I checked the time, and it read 7:30. My mom got home 2 hours late, I guess.
"Okay, I guess I should get going." Finn said, standing up, I stood up with him, and I nodded. We walked to the door, and I opened it for him.
"See you tomorrow, partner." He said, smiling at me. I just playfully rolled my eyes and smiled.
"Bye Finn." I said, before closing the door.
