Finns pov

It's been about a month since Millie has gotten out of the hospital.

Everything is back to normal, but she gets a couple stares in the hallway now and then.

We've talked a lot, kissed a lot..the usual.

I'm sitting in Language class watching what she's doing, talking to Sadie, laughing and smiling.

I don't sit next to her, I sit across the room.

But I can still keep an eye on her.

This week has been weird. I've had a new feeling for Millie. I'm still trying to figure it out.

I'm in love with Millie.

-

We walked to lunch together, and she held her arm out to hold mine. She was wearing a long sleeve, because she doesn't like when people look at her arms.

"How's your day been?" I asked.

"It's been good, thanks." She said, and I smiled.

"Millie, can you come over tonight? I have something that I want to tell you." I said, and she smiled and nodded. Then, her smile dropped.

"Is it something bad?" She asked, and I widened my eyes and shook my head.

"No, not bad at all." I said, and she smiled again.

"You're so cute, Wolfhard." She said, and placed her lips onto mine, as I could taste her strawberry chapstick that was on my lips now.

We pulled away, and walked into lunch.

We sat down, and everyone was talking. Plans for summer.

"So, I think we should all on vacation together." Gaten said, and we all agreed.

"But where?" Noah asked.

"I was thinking California." Gaten said, and people nodded.

They all kept talking about that, and I saw Millie drift off, zoned out.

She does that a lot.

"Mills," I said, and she looked at me and smiled.

"You good?" I asked, and she smiled and nodded.

She finally told her mom about Jacob, and what he did.

He's facing juvy right now, but it didn't mess up their parents friendship. Which Millie had a tough time dealing with for the past month, because the only reason she stayed with him was because of the threat that their parents wouldn't be friends.

She cried a lot, but I was there to help her through it.

"So, what do you want to do tonight?" She asked, winking. I laughed, and she did too.

"Well, we can watch a movie that just came out on Netflix that I think you would like. Then I need to tell you something." I said, and she nodded.

"Okay." She said, and I smiled.

-

I was sitting on my bed, listening to music, when I heard my mom knock on my door. She opened it, and looked at me.

"I'm leaving for work for the night shift, won't get back till about 9:00 tomorrow. Will you be okay by yourself?" She asked me, and I nodded and did a thumbs up.

"Okay. Bye sweetie." She said, and I said bye.

I heard her car pull out of the driveway, and I looked at my phone. It was 9:00.

Millie's should be here any minute.

I walked downstairs as I heard a knock on the door, and I went to open it. It was Millie, standing there, smiling.

"Hey Finn." She said, and I smiled.

"Hey." I said, and she took her jacket off of her, and she's just wearing a T-shirt.

"So what movie did you think I would like?" She asked, and I smiled.

"It's called the kissing booth." I said, and she gasped.

"I saw the trailer for that, I really want to watch it!!" She said, and I laughed. I took her hand in mine, and we walked over to the couch and sat down.

I put it on, the lights all off except the tv light.

I looked down at her hand as she intertwined her fingers with mine. She just got her stitches out of her arms last week, and she has big scars there now.

I felt her looking at me, so I looked up at her, and she was smiling at me. She looked down to my lips, and she set her hand on my cheek. She leaned in and placed her lips against mine, and I didn't pull away.

She pushed against my lips, making me lean back a little. We both pulled away, resting our forehead on each other's.

"We should watch the movie, then do this." I whispered to her, and she smiled and whispered okay.

We watched the movie, and it was good, but I think Millie liked it more than me.

-

"And then when he came back oh my gosh I was so happy," Millie was explaining, about her favorite part in the movie. We were laying in my bed, our hands still together.

"I was there Mills." I said, and she laughed. She sat up, and I sat up with her.

"So what did you want to talk about?" She asked, and I looked in her chocolate eyes.

"This is a serious thing to talk about, before I start." I said, and she nodded, paying full attention.

"Okay, well...I don't really know how to start. I wasn't really planning on telling you yet, but I feel like I should. When I'm with you, I act different. In a good way. I smile more and laugh more. I don't have to pretend everything's okay, when it's not. I don't feel hurt or alone when I'm with you. I feel safe. You're easy to talk to, and you listen to what I have to say. I don't have to worry about holding back with you. I don't feel self conscious, and I don't feel insecure or sad. You show me that you really do care, and you're not just pretending. We've been through a lot together. When we first knew each other, we hated each other. But I got to know you, and turns out you're way better than what I thought you were in my head. When we first started secretly dating, it was all fun, but it got more real when we told our friends. It felt real. I'm always here for you when you need me, and you're always here for me when I need you. We both need each other, and we both have each other." I said, and she looked at me, tears forming in her eyes.

"And that's why I love you." I finished, and her mouth hung open. She looked into my eyes, then smiled.

"I love you too, Finn." She said, which made me smile.

"Really?" I asked, wiping a tear from her face. She nodded, and we both smiled.

We leaned in, and our lips connected.

Narrators pov

And that was the story of Finn Wolfhard and Millie Browns first loves.

In the end, it wasn't just love and it wasn't just friendship.

It was friendship and love.
