(A/N) Kinda really depressing *cries because third years* sorry

The breeze lifted the leaves, filling the silence between them with the rustling of trees and the scraping of leaves against the cement. Their clothes fluttered in the wind, their hair shuffling about their heads.

When the sudden soft blow of wind disappeared, Akaashi finally could move his lips.

"W-What?" He stuttered, his normally half-lidded eyes wide and bemused. He bit his lip gently, glancing down at his toes, gripping his binder in his hands tighter. His eyes and nose burned.

"I said, this is my last day. My last few minutes, really..." He said softly, reaching out for Akaashi.

Akaashi stepped back, evading his touch. Tears welled in his eyes. "Why are you telling me this now?" He hissed, shaking his head.

Kuroo sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. "I don't know Akaashi, I didn't want to face you. I don't want to leave home, I don't want to leave you."

Akaashi bit the inside of his cheeks, and Kuroo crept forward as if Akaashi were some small, helpless, jumpy animal. But, despite the tiny flaming blaze of anger igniting in his heart, the wetness of his cheeks continued down to douse the flames with sadness. Akaashi searched Kuroo's sympathetic eyes, and Kuroo placed his coarse palms on Akaashi's soft cheeks.

Kuroo pulled Akaashi closer, hunching his shoulders and touching their foreheads together. His hazel eyes bore into Akaashi's, the intensity grasping onto Akaashi's gaze.

"I-I know that you don't want me to leave. Hell, I don't want to leave. Everything, everyone, I love lives here, and I'm leaving them all behind. But it's okay, alright, Akaashi? You'll be okay. We will be okay." Kuroo's voice cracked. "You wanna know why I think that? I think that love triumphs all. I know you aren't that kinda guy, but I am. We will see each other again. I promise." Kuroo lifted his head, pushing back Akaashi's hair and placing a bittersweet kiss on his forehead.

His surprisingly smooth lips lingered, and Akaashi blinked, startled by the kiss and a tear that splashed onto his nose.

Kuroo stepped back and turned his back quickly. His steps were brisk, and he lifted a hand and scrubbed at his face.

"Kuroo-!" He called, and lurched into motion, dropping all his possessions before sprinting after him.

He rounded the corner, frantically searching. around for Kuroo's form, but the bell rang, and uniform-clad students exited their classrooms.

Akaashi caught a glance of his jacket, but it vanished in the crowd.

"Akaashi... The lights green." Yamaguchi said softly, touching his shoulder.

Akaashi leaned forward to see the light, cursing as he sped forward.

"I'm sorry, Yama, I was just thinking a little too much."

Yamaguchi smiled. "I get it, but I hope you don't zone out like that while you're driving!" He teased.
