Chapter 7
YOU WERE IN Jake's hut cutting up some vegetables for the soup that you're making. You and Jake were laughing at an inside joke he made. Its been raining all daylong so you decided to make a warm soup for everyone. You've officially moved into the Sully's mauri after mating with Jake. Tonowari was so happy for you and Jake when you spilled the news, you were so elated that he accepted you and Jake together.
As you were adding the vegetables to the pot, you heard footsteps outside of the mauri. You and Jake looked up to see Tonowari, but he had as sorrowful look on his face. Your smile dropped. Jake got up from the floor and approached Tonowari.
"What is it?" Jake asked with worry. There was a moment of silence before Tonowari spoke. "Sky People. They're looking for you Jake Sully. South. They have a human boy who speaks Na'vi." Tonowari replied with frustration.
Your heart sank, and your ears dropped. You felt empty. Jake told you about Quaritch and that he was still looking for him, but you didn't think that he'd go this far. You held onto Jake's arm, seeking his comfort. He held you by the waist, pulling you closer. "Did they kill anybody?" Jake asked as his voice cracked. "Not yet." Tonowari replied as he turned to look at you and Jake.
"They threaten, but the villagers will not tell them where you are by my order." Tonowari continued, looking out into the sea. Jake looked down as his ears dropped. Soon Tonowari left after delivering the news, leaving you and Jake in total silence. You walked back inside the hut, you continued to cut more vegetables in a harsh manner, you were scared for your people, for your family. "We must hunt this demon, trap him, kill him!" You exclaimed as you looked up at Jake with teary eyes.
"I know, but we gotta be smart baby. If we hit them they'll know where we are and they'll come straight to here with no hesitation." Jake replied sighing. You closed your eyes as more tears began to fall. Jake notice this and he pulled you in for a warm embrace. "Shhh, it's okay baby. Everything's going to be okay." He cooed in your ear softly. You nuzzled your head into his neck as more tears fell. You had this feeling in your gut that something terrible was going to happen, you didn't want this to escalate.

Two days had pasted since Tonowari told you and Jake about the Sky People. You were in your hut braiding Neteyams hair. Loak was in his hammock fiddling with his bracelet, Kiri was weaving a top and Tuk was making a necklace with some shells and diamonds. "Mom when can we go out, I'm so bored." Loak said as he groaned. Ever since your father told you the news about the Sky People you didn't want your kids out of the mauri for too long, you just didn't want any harm to come towards your kids.
"I'll let you guys go out in a bit my son, I'm not risking anything." You replied softly. Loak sighed as he turned the other way, his back facing the wall. "Mom can you tighten my braids a little bit more please?" Neteyam asked in his gentle voice. "Of course Ma'Itan." You replied smiling.
After you finished braiding Neteyams hair, Jake came back from training with Tonowari and some other warriors. Lately Jake's been training with some Metkayina warriors and Tonowari in order to prepare incase anything else happens with the Sky People. "Welcome home Ma'Jake. How was training?" You asked getting up from your hammock. "It was good baby, we've been using different weapons other than knives and spears." Jake replied as he gave you a peck on the lips.
"Dad, your home!" Tuk exclaimed as she ran up to Jake and hugged his leg. Jake smiled as he looked down at Tuk before picking her up and playfully spinning her around. Tuk giggled at Jake's antics. You smiled as you looked at Tuk, you loved seeing your kids happy. You let the kids out to go and have some fun, you felt bad for keeping them in too much.

IT WASNT LONG before you found out about Roa's death. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see your mother's spirit sister gone including her beloved baby tulkun. You gasped once you saw Roa's deceased body, your ears dropped. Ronal let out a shaky breath as she swam towards Roa's body.
She sat on top of her fin as she let out a pained cry. Tears began to fall from her eyes uncontrollably. "She was my spirit sister, she was the composer of songs, much revived, we would sing together. She waited many breeding cycles to have this calf, the clan was so happy for her. What is this Tonowari? What is this?!" Ronal exclaimed with complete sadness and grief.
You got off of Tíli and swam over to Ronal, embracing her in a comforting hug, she wrapped her arms around you as she let out sobs. You began to cry too, you met Roa when the Tulkun returned, she was so sweet and loving. You knew how much Ronal cared and loved Roa deeply. It broke your heart to see your mother this way. You couldn't imagine losing Ni'alu. Seeing your mother in this condition pained your heart. To the Metkayina they're Tulkun's are very important to them, it's like losing a member of their family.
Eventually you all went back to the village to gather everyone up and announce what has happened. "Everyone join at the village center! Right now!" Tonowari exclaimed. Everybody immediately rushed to the main hut as soon as they heard Tonowari. You and Jake made your way through the crowd. "Go look for the kids, stay with them baby." Jake said as he pecked your lips before leaving to stand in front of Tonowari and Ronal with the tracker still in his grasp.
You quickly started looking for the kids. Once you spotted Kiri and Tuk holding onto each other trembling in fear, your heart clenched at the sight. "Tuk! Kiri!" You yelled for them through the chatter of the people. They immediately turned their heads at the mention of their names and your voice. They rushed towards you as soon as they saw you.
"Mama." Tuk said as she tucked herself into the crook of your neck. "Mom.." Kiri said while hugging you tightly. "It's okay my loves I'm here now. Mama is here. You're safe now." You replied as you caressed their heads softly. You pulled them closer for comfort.
You made your way to the front of the crowd while holding Tuk by your hip and Kiri stood on your right holding one of your hands for reassurance. You looked around frantically, you felt relieved once you saw Neteyam. He looked back at you with a smile, glad to see that you were safe. But you grew worried when you couldn't find Loak. You spotted Tsireya and waved her over to comfort her once you saw her crying.
Ronal began to speak with pain in her voice. "My people! My spirit sister and her baby have been killed by the Sky People!" Everyone gasped in shock and horror. "This war has come to us! We knew about this hunting of our Tulkun people, but it was over the horizon far away! Now it is here!" Tonowari added as he let out a war cry. The tension grew high, you looked around and sighed in relief when you saw Loak walk through the crowd of people.
Loak had no idea about this until now, he's been with Payakan these past few hours. Loak rushed to your side. You kissed the top of his head lovingly. "Are you alright Ma'Itan?" You asked softly. "Yeah I'm okay, thanks mom." He replied nuzzling into you. He walked over to Tsireya and held her close.
War. This is what you feared and it's here. At this point your mind was going haywire. Too much was going on. Something bad was going to happen, you just knew, you could sense it, you could feel it. You grew nervous as the chatter became louder, the crys of your people, the tension was intense and it was increasing. War is about to start and you were scared.
