Chapter 16- Starting over

I slowly open my eyes, waking up from my peaceful slumber to see that I'm held tightly in Shawns grasp. Sighing I try to move but Shawns hold prevents me from going anywhere, instead I give up and settle back down, trying to not get too close to him. This is sort of awkward, I mean I just broke up with who I thought was the love of my life and now I was being held tightly by the person who I thought hated me.
I look at Shawns facial features as he lies there peacefully asleep, and feel my mind wander off. He truly is handsome, like the people you only imagine to be in books, with flawless defined features making up the piece of art that is Shawn Mendes. I think I could definitely argue that he was a lot more handsome than Noah, which I think I'm only admitting now because I'm not being blinded by the love I had for the person I now called my ex and with us no longer together I could see clearly.
I try to move again, not wanting to sit here for too long. Yes I know, many people would think I'm crazy but I only just met the guy! I fail again miserably and instead of getting out of his grasp I just end up waking him up altogether.

He sleepily opens his eyes and gives me an adorable smile, one that I couldn't not return so I beam back at him.

"You okay?" He asks in his sleepy voice

"As good as I can be," I reply referring to the events that happened last night.

"You know my offer of beating him up still stands,"

"Mhmm,"

"Talk to me Eva, what's up?"

"Nothing Shawn, I'm fine."

"No you're not Eva, I understand if you don't trust me but I want to help you."

"It's just that, Shawn should I call him?"

"Are you actually crazy...?"

"I have been told that I am,"

"Why would you go running back to the guy that broke your heart? Trust me, if you do it's going to be a huge mistake," 

"Oh like you would know about it,"

"Actually yes I would, you wanna know why?" He hesitates for a second before telling me, ad closes his eyes almost as if he's thinking it through and deciding if its a good idea, "Because the same happened to me with Laur and also you know what I was the one that stayed with you last night, and comforted you while he was probably busy making out with this new girl, you know as well as me that it's true,"

"Oh Shawn, I'm sorry. I had no idea about Lauren, are you okay? How did you find out? And yes I know and I'm sorry again but thank you for being there for me it meant so much to me. I know you're right, it's just difficult to admit, we were together for two years and-"

"And you thought he'd be the one? And to answer your question,Laurs history, I'm over her. I found out because it was the summer and there was this party so we went together, halfway through I went upstairs to use the bathroom and i'm sure you can guess the rest. Eva, you don't need to thank me, whenever you'll need me I'll try be here for you, and from now on I'll try not be a complete douche at the same time! I am really sorry about all the times I have been rude to you, I guess I never gave you a proper chance which was wrong of me."

"Thanks for finishing my sentence! But I didn't know if he was the one but I thought we had something special, it must have just been me I guess. And summer? Is that where your song came from? No but seriously that must be terrible, and I'm sorry. Shawn, thank you that's so sweet, I think I never gave you a proper chance either! How about we start again?"

"Now thinking back at it maybe, Camilla and I just made it backstage one day but your idea makes it seem a lot more cooler so i'll go with that! Yeah, that's a good idea lets start again!"

"Okay, so hi Shawn! I'm Eva, it's a pleasure to meet you!"

"Hey Eva, I'm Shawn, but you already knew that-um," he chuckles and scratches his temple "Oh and- the pleasures all mine,"

"What made you change your mind?" I randomly ask him.

"About what?"

"About me,"

He sighs and runs a hand through his soft, curly and morning messy chocolate brown hair.
"I realised that you're only human,"

"I'm only human, I bleed when I fall down you know? I'm only human, I crash and I break down,"

"Okay Christina Perry!"

"Shawn, how the hell did you guess the song?!"

"It's like you're forgetting that I'm a musician, you genius."

"Thanks for the sarcasm, and carry on with what you were saying please."

"Like I said, I realised you were human. I really could relate with you last night and I felt sorry for you."

"So this is like a pity friendship?" I ask feeling my heart sink at the fact that he was only doing this to be nice, only because he felt sorry for me.

"No, definitely not. You have an awesome personality and we have a bit in common,"

"Shawn, we've spent the short time we've know each other arguing and plotting one another's murder. How do you know we have anything in common?"

"Ah my dear," he says making my heart skip a beat and gives me his famous smirk "I think you also forget that you have a YouTube channel, I watched some of your videos."

"Oh god..." I say burying my face into my hands feeling extremely embarrassed.

Shawn gently removes my hands from my face and tilts my chin up so I'm facing him,

"Don't be embarrassed Hun," he gets up from his place next to me and starts to walk towards the bedroom.

"You're beautiful and have an amazing personality, Noahs an idiot to have let you go." He calls over his shoulder leaving me sat there grinning like a fool. When he wanted to be, he could be super sweet.
