Chapter 8- Road trips

I walk back to the mini van, carrying all my unhealthy goods in my hand and luckily it wasn't parked too far from the shop so the walk was short and fast. When I got there, all the seats were taken and the one that remained  for me was in the middle row, next to the window and directly in front of Shawn. Everyone had settled calmly, either listening to music or watching a movie or  talking to one another in hushed tones. I clambered in, getting myself comfortable and putting my seatbelt on. Throughout the entire time I felt Shawn's gaze piercing me, watching my every move. We had set off by now so I decided to get my phone out, I needed to keep myself busy somehow. When I reach into my bag, I see that Shawn's twenty dollar note was still placed there which reminded me to return it to him. Grabbing it with one swift move, I turn in my seat to face Shawn who had busied himself with his phone, his eyebrows knitting in concentration as he looked down at large screen that somehow looked small in his hands with a small frown forming on his face. He must have sensed that I was looking at him because he broke the silence, and said without looking at me

"You know, you really don't have to stare. I already know I'm gorgeous," he said it so quietly that everyone remained undisturbed and only I heard he of course said it with his famous smirk on his face. Gosh he was so annoying.

"How did you know I was looking at you? I mean you haven't stopped looking at your phone,"

"There's this thing called a peripheral vision kid, I used it."

"Fist of all, okay fine good point and second of all I wasn't staring at you, I don't wanna damage my eyesight and lastly I'm pretty sure I'm older than you."

"Hmm what if I didn't mean kid in that way after all you are the gorgeous goats bum after all, get it? Because kids are baby goats or whatever" he says finally looking up from his phone and shooting me a wink that made my heart flutter- wait what?

"Okay whatever, here take this." I thrust the money back into his hands, and reluctantly he takes it back. He opens his mouth to say something, probably rude or offensive against me, but before he can I shoot him a triumphant smile, put my headphones in turning the volume up blocking myself from the rest of the world. I guess I'd won this time, in your face Shawn!

Half an hour into the journey, as I listened to give me love by Ed Sheehan, my phone screen lights up making me smile. There weren't many notifications that did that, and currently the one I had was from some of my favourite people. It was the group chat, made up of my parents, my brother, Noah and I. Yup I know, we're pretty close, it only really came about when I was close to going on tour so we could all keep in touch.

Mom; Hey guys 👋

Dad; You left for work literally ten minutes ago, how boring can it get? 😂

Mom; I'm sorry that I'd like to talk to my family Darren

Dad; You should be Claire, besides i'm sat right across from you. We work in the same place remember?

Broooo; GUYS STFU IM TRYNA SLEEP 😴

Me; Heeeyyy fam! I miss you all so much! ❤❤❤

Broooo; Eva hey! Hope you're great, singin and all that but seriously LET ME SLEEP

Me; Omg, then leave if we're disturbing you that much? Or theres this great invention, it's called 'do not disturb' 🙂

Mom; Eva honey, we miss you too! ❤How's everything there? And your sassiness has definitely been missed😋

Dad; Hi there stranger!

Me; Dad, I've literally been gone for like a day!😂

Noah; Hi guys!😁

Me; Noaaaahhh❣️❣️

Noah; Hey princess! 😘

Broooo; Okay just let me get a sick bucket...  😷

"I agree with your brother," a voice, which happens to belong to Shawn, says interrupting me as he looks over my shoulder

"Ugh, what do you want?"

"Well, I was just gonna tell you that we're stopping soon."

"Are we here already?" I ask peering out the window, without sounding rude we were still near the city so it seemed really unrealistic.

"Nope, some people need to pee."

"Oh"

Shawn settles back into his seat, I return to my phone and back into the messages app to see what I had missed in the short amount of time

Mom; Just because you can't get in a relationship don't be jealous of your sister😂

Dad; He might actually find someone if he wasn't such a pig 🐷

Broooo; HEY! I'M STILL HERE YOU KNOW😒

Me; Yeah unfortunately😑

Mom; Okay, your father and I have a meeting now. Have a great day my lovelies 😚

Dad; Ditto, peace kids ✌️

Noah; Aw, bye, have a great day! Also how are you princess? ❤️

I smile at how close we all are and how sweet, and annoying, but mainly sweet the people I call my family are. 

Me; I'm okay thank you, I didn't sleep much though because your ugly face haunted my dreams. 🤡 the clowns you btw😂

Noah; pfft I think you mean drop dead gorgeous. 😉

Me; Why thank you, I know I am☺

Noah; Well, you know I can't argue against the truth

Me; aww I shall quote my father "ditto"

Broooo; OMG WHERE IS THAT SICK BUCKET, I NEED IT NOW.

Me; Shut up

Broooo; Rather not thanks, and Noah when you coming round today?

Noah; I dunno, maybe like an hour or so?

Broooo; K

Noah; DUDE 😒

Me; YOU DID NOT JUST

Noah; 'K' ME

Broooo; You're all so weird, stop the weird couple sentence thing

I see Andrew tap me, motioning that we all had to get out for a small toilet break. I quickly text back letting them know that I had to go and I might not reply. The truth was, I probably could but I didn't want to disturb them and they're plans. I felt bad enough that I had just left them all, I didn't want to stop them from their everyday plans or whatever. I step out of the car and head inside where everyone was, so far this road trip wasn't too bad. But then again none of us had even talked

soooo this sucked but...hey guys, kinda a different chapter idk what did you think of it? There is gonna be a part two to the road trip I think haha and I'll try make it better than this (or at least as good as it can get, I mean I'm writing it so it'll probably be really bad haha) also I'm super happy that I remembered that I put 'mom' instead of 'mum' you know the whole British American thingy😂😂 I know I'm weird
