"I don't do night shifts."

"I know I'm well aware why you avoid it. But still if you just keep going like this. I don't think then you will be able to live a normal life like human."

Jerzy has been trying to convince me for doing night shifts, but I don't trust myself enough that everything will be fine.

"...I can't live a normal life like a human after all"

I somehow want to accept this but at the same time there's a hope, especially because of Jerzy. I always run away from reality, always deny it.

Every night i suffer a terrible pain in my head Which feels like I'll completely die.

my body starts to change. The veins on my face become more prominent, my eyes turn a deep red, and my canines extend into sharp fangs. I keep myself in control always but in night...It's not easy for me. I have been trying to know why this happens with me. Is it any side-effect because I'm infected? Why?

"Huh...You won't listen to me. Okay then I have something for you."

He takes out a small box made of some hard Matel. He puts the thumb on it and it opens after identifying him. There were some tablets which doesn't seem like a normal drug.

"I met Suzy some days ago. I asked her to find a drug so You can control yourself in night-time too. It's a special drug which doesn't exist among humans 'Eternam-G48'. "

Eternam-G48... I've heard about it. But to my knowledge, it's merely a rumor that such a discovery has been made, as there hasn't been a single vampire encounter where someone claimed to have tried that drug.

Jerzy continues "You will not lose control and won't transform until you want it. Even You will not crave blood. I had a doubt that this drug was just a rumor or actually exist. But Suzy found it."

He pauses "But there's one drawback"

"The duration of this drug is unknown... Sometimes it'll work for 5 hours but sometimes only 2 hours. But however, you will become aware when the drug ceases to work as the transformation begins. At that moment, it's best to distance yourself from others."

I stay quiet. "I know you're worried and still afraid you will hurt others but trust me Rin... You can live as a normal human too. It just needs time, Try it." He hands me over the drug.

"By the way... are you and Suzy still in love?"

"AAH... come on! It's nothing like that. It's over and there's no going back. She just wanted to help you as you are like BIG-BROTHER to her"

I smirk and leave the room.

I open the box and eat one tablet... I can't tell the taste though. I feel kind of uneasiness in chest but after some seconds I feel normal.

I pick up my coat and car-keys and start to drive. I'm still afraid that It'll work or not.

I'm standing in front of the hospital.

It's the first time I've ventured out at night, and I wasn't sure where to go. I found myself driving to the hospital without any particular reason. I have no idea why i came here but still I step inside. I don't intend to be seen by anyone as It's first time and if somehow this drug doesn't work on me, I'll be locked somewhere where no one can see me and get hurt.

I take the back door and try to find a room which is distant and quite from the staff and patients.

Suddenly, a shadow passed from behind, yet there was nothing there. I am certain I was not mistaken. I decide to ignore it but then I saw blood. And it's not human blood. FUCK!

I run and check all the rooms at that floor but There was nothing.

A sharp scream hits, and it sounds familiar. It's...

"Elina!"

I press the elevator button, but it takes so much time. I run all the way towards downstairs.

And here it is, A man holding Elina's throat and holding a syringe in other hand. SON OF A BITCH. I notice he has long nails and sharp canines. It's the same vampire who tried to kill Elina in the elevator before. I run and kick him from aside. My fist connects with his jaw, causing him to stumble back a few steps. His dark, leathery skin glistens with sweat as we begin to fight, each of us using quick movements and calculated strikes.

His dark eyes are narrowed with pure rage as he brandishes the syringe in one hand, and he lunges towards me. His skin is a deep, inhuman shade and his teeth are sharp and glistening. As we struggle, his veins seem to pulse with adrenaline and fury.

I held his hand and twist it. He cries out of pain.

I hear Elina's sobbing and I get distracted by her watery and innocent eyes... SHIT!

I see his arm swing towards me with incredible force, his fist connecting with my belly and then my face, causing me to stumble backwards and fall to the hard floor. His face is twisted in anger, his features contorted and his eyes burning with intensity.

𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘵. Now it's the time... It's the only option.

My once human skin twists and warps, black veins pulsing beneath the surface. My eyes turn from boring brown to gleaming red, the pupils elongating into narrow slivers. My teeth grow into sharp, menacing fangs, and my nails extend into long, pointed claws. I throw my coat aside and Glare at him. I could see him hesitating. But He doesn't know what he got himself into...

I grasp his hand tightly, my fingers digging into his skin as I forcefully pull him closer. Our heads collide with a loud thud, causing stars to burst in my vision. But I ignore the pain.

He comes to attack me with full strength. He falls on the ground. I punch his continuously... The more I think about Elina's innocent eyes being scared and threatened by him... harder I punch him. blood comes out of his mouth, I'm sure I broke his teeth...not only one or two but at least 10.

I slam his head against the wall with savage force, not once, not twice, but three times. On the last impact, I release my hold on his collar, sending him crashing to the ground in a crumpled heap. His body lies motionless as blood trickles from his battered head, the only sign of life being shallow gasps for air. I come forward to kill him but suddenly Elina's caught my attention.

She knelt down, her eyes wide with fear and surprise.

I look at that body lying in front of me once and ignore... I step towards Elina. I transform back myself into a normal being and pick up my coat. I kneel down in front of her, she tries to stand up and run but her legs gave up. She starts panicking, I hold herself in my arms and try to calm her. She struggles, trying to push me away, punching my chest with her small fists but failed.

At last, she calms down. Let herself close her eyes and rest. I don't move... letting myself look at her properly. Memorizing every detail of her face, fully taking in every angle and curve of her face.

Her eyes are like shimmering pools of honey... Lips like petals of beautiful pink rose...nose, which is dainty and straight, sits perfectly centered on her face. Her eyes lashes are long and beautiful like a bird's wing. Her cheeks are rosy naturally.

She is a canvas of an Angel...or maybe an Angel itself. A Sinner like me shouldn't have a right to even look at her. what an Irony.

Hesitantly, I allow myself to wipe away her tears, her mascara is messed up and yet she looks so beautiful. SHE.IS.PERFECT. I look at her for more few seconds then make a call to Jerzy. I don't know her address so It's better to take her to my house. After all whatever she saw... We need to deal with it.

"Urgent. At the hospital in 5 min. Come late and I'll kill you" I don't wait for any answer and hang up.

"You're 23 min and 45 seconds late." I remind Jerzy.

"Hello Mister. It's you who is a vampire not me. You can run faster than the light, but I have to follow traffic lights on road."

Tsk.

I keep Elina at the back seat...covered in my coat so she won't be cold. I look at her time to time to make sure she is okay...Or maybe because I want to look at her.

"Do you know who he was?" Jerzy asked. His eyes fixed on the road.

"No. I have no idea." Exactly who he was...and why did he wanted to kill her. And it's not only a normal human but a vampire. If he wanted to use Elina for his mere hunger, He could have just drunk her blood. But he tried to kill her...not once but twice.

AH...Elina...
