"Don't worry. I can handle it." I was standing at the side of the counter, watching Dr. Rin suggesting he could handle this case. No one tries to argue and Dr. Rin looks at the patient again...I could see he was up to something, He was kinda...worried and suspicious.

He takes that patient to the ward and orders everyone not to get inside until he calls someone. Ordered them not to even step around that ward. And as always...No one questions.

I don't know why but I was quiet too. I was only an ordinary nurse maybe that's why?

"Is he going to be okay..." I murmur.

It's been 4 hours.

I was busy taking blood samples of patients but still, the image of Dr. Rin being alone and the way he was looking at that patient was different... I can't stop thinking about it. It's not my job to think about it but I am. And I have no clue why.

Why is he taking so long? Is he capable that he can handle surgery without any help?

It keeps lingering in my mind "It's done, Sir. You can leave." I smile at that old man and place the sample on the tray.

How about I just go to check the floor...I won't peak or come near Just check? Yup of course! Checking won't harm.

...Here I am, Standing in front of the ward straight. I decided to only check but..."Oh god..."

I heard a sound from the inside but I couldn't identify what it was...I guess something just dropped but it wasn't any object... It sounded like a heavy thing or person was thrown.

Suddenly a loud thud comes from the ward and I try to open the door.

 "Shit! It's locked!"

My shoulder throbbed from the impact as I tried to break through it, But it didn't work...

I bring a chair from the next room. The chair's impact reverberated through my bones as I struck the handle once more. This time, the door yielded And beds overturned, curtains torn, and the air thick with an unsettling tension...I noticed a window whose glasses were shattered on the floor... and aside from the bed, Dr. Rin was unconscious.

I rush towards him and try to wake him up "Dr. Rin! Are you okay?"

"Dr. Rin!" I call him so many times but he doesn't wake up.

I bring a stretcher from the corner and struggle to lay Dr. Rin on the bed.

I fix all the tubes and monitor the vitals.

I place the cardiac monitor and... The heart's monitor beeping was flat...

"Is he dead..." My hands shiver and I don't know how to react... He can't die.

I move my hands on his chest and press his chest. The rhythm of chest compressions matched the beat of my racing heart.

There was no sign of his heartbeat...I decide to remove his clothes and properly consider him as a patient.

I notice a deep cut on his hand so I push his sleeves up. There was a wound.

Suddenly A skull tattoo comes into view on his arm...I tried to think more bout it but It was the same... It is the same.

The skull the ink the view everything was the same...

I'm a Vampire. No, it can't be...

The syringe...The attack...The fight...

Suddenly his phone beeps and a text message appears on his lock screen.

Jerzy

The test results are out. Elina...

I saw My name so I dared to open the chat. There was no lock...and It made me question everything...

I didn't want to believe it...No, it's not true...There must be a misunderstanding...He must be joking.

I looked at his forearm and that wound disappeared but The blood was still there.

"Uhh..." His moans echoed through the sterile room, a haunting melody of pain and awakening. His eyes fluttered, struggling to focus on the harsh fluorescent light above.

One thing was certain: he was alive.

I hear footsteps...everyone must be here by now.

I step out of the ward. "Dr. Rin is unconscious inside and the patient is gone. I checked upon him...He is..."

I was arguing in my head about whether should I tell them or not...

"He is just unconscious. We just need to take him to a proper bed so he can rest."

Everyone rushes towards the ward except Dr. Lee. "Is there something you wanna tell?"

"What...do you mean?"

Dr. Lee stares at me suspiciously "Nothing. You were just looking like you had something to say. But it's alright if you don't."

I shake my head and He also leaves. After some min, I look at how everyone takes Dr. Rin on Stretcher.

He is unrealistic...

After all of that, I take a cab to my friend's place Olga. I avoid going to Feli because she will notice my mood and will force me to spill whatever happened.

Olga compared to Feli is very calm collective and sweet. We don't speak often but our bond is something that can't be described in words.

"Your smoothie." I smile and take it from Olga.

"I'm sorry for bothering you out of nowhere...I just didn't have somewhere to go."

"Don't worry about anything. Just relax yourself as long as you want."

I think that's the reason why boys chase after Olga so much. If I was a man I would like her as well.

She gave me a blanket and headed inside her room to study.

My emotions swirled like autumn leaves caught in a tempest. It was as if reality had donned a carnival mask, mocking me with its absurdity. Whatever He was saying was true...

I'm not sure if should I get involved with him so soon.

I take my phone and notice a text from Dr. Rin.

Dracula: where are you?

Dracula: Show up in 5 min

I need...some time.

I typed my reply and sent him.

Me: I'm sorry Dr. Rin. Something came up so I can't move in with you now...

Me: I'm very sorry...Please take care of yourself.

I restrict his number so I won't be able to see his texts again.

I'm not sure what I have to do now...

He is like a book Whose cover is very strange yet so persuasive... I don't know whether Should I open it, unravel its mysteries, and risk altering the course of my life. Or should I leave it untouched...Forget whatever happened...Ignore its existence.

                                                                                                            ---

I stretch my body and realize How restless my sleep was.

My mind was only thinking About Dr. Rin...His secrets...His mystery.

"Breakfast is ready, Elina. You can have it."

I give Olga a smile "Coming sweetie!"

It's been so long since I've tasted her cooking. No one cooks better than her. She is the best!

Suddenly as I take a seat and rub my eyes, We hear a knock at the door. Who could be visiting at this early hour? We look at each other who it might be.

Olga insists on opening the door and letting me eat.

"Elina...It's your brother. Jeremy..."'

How come Jeremy knew where Am I and why would he come here?

I take a look at Olga "Ah... I told Jeremy about you. He was worried and said he won't tell anything to your Dad."

I glare at Jeremy assuring myself he will be a loyal brother.

"There's nothing to react like that. Come on. I just came to meet you." He never visited me like this. Yes, he called me before too when I used to go on trips and training but He never tried to meet me in the middle.

He was holding a polybag through which I could see "Anyways, You brought something to eat?"

"Ah... yes." He spreads the Russian delicacies—blini with caviar, borscht steaming in a clay bowl, and pirozhki filled with mushrooms.

"Wow...How come you bring this all? I never saw you bringing this much to eat for me!"

Jeremy shifted uncomfortably, avoiding my gaze. "Well, you see, There's nothing to try and after all, It's a nice dish."

I don't ask much and invite Olga to join us. It's a surprise he brought this. Plus point is It's Olga's favorite."

I invite Olga to join us. She sits beside me and across from Jeremy.

Throughout the whole meal , I noticed His gazes landing upon Olga again and again. I couldn't help but notice the warmth in his eyes. I never saw this warmth in his gaze towards anyone.

I decide to take a little advantage.

"Jeremy," I said, My voice gentle and devilish, "Let Olga eat. You will make a hole in her if you stare at her like this for so long."

Olga's face got red and she stared at her smoothie like It was the most beautiful book she was reading with so much focus.

He looked away, his fingers tracing the rim of the coffee cup Olga brought for him. "It's nothing like that! Why would I look at her? I have more important things to do."

"Then why did you bring this here? You never brought it for me at home but you chose to bring something Olga liked?"

He panicked "Don't think so far! It's just a coincidence. Eat this fast so We can talk about examinations and tests for university entrance."

I give him a teasing look "Okay! Okay! Let's say that the reason you came here and brought it."
