Ok, who had natural disaster on their 2020 bingo card?
Peter
It had gotten dark about an hour ago and not long after it started raining. If it wasn't for a very messy bank robbery I would've already been home. Now I was definitely getting grounded for staying out late on a school night. I swung up on the roof of the tower and entered through the door. As I walked down the stairs I couldn't help but notice how the lights were off. I pulled off my mask since everyone on the top floors already knew who I was.
"Hey Friday can you turn on the lights?" I asked
But no answer. That wasn't very calming. Not only was it so dark I could barely see a thing, but Friday was off too. Something was very wrong. When I got down the stairs to the penthouse I started sneaking towards dad's lab. He'll know what's wrong. As I sneaked through the hallways I started to get a very bad feeling in my stomach and I felt myself grow more prepared for a fight. My brain started imaging people coming out of the dark to try and hurt me. I ignored my scared brain and continued towards dad's lab. The imaginary creatures didn't stop coming and I hated it. I've always had a fear of the dark. Luckily when you live in a fancy penthouse in New York there's often a lot of lights. But not this time. The light that normally shined through the windows was gone. The sky was clouded so the moonlight didn't reach the tower. As for the street lights and other buildings, there must be a power outage since all of them were dark. My spidey sense suddenly went off but before I could even react I felt someone grab my wrist and call my name. I screamed. It was a natural instinct. Tears started falling down my cheeks because of the overwhelming fear. I looked behind me and saw dad's shocked face soften as he pulled me into a hug.
"It's okay kiddo....calm down...It's just me" dad said and started comb through my hair with his fingers to calm me down.
"I-I'm s-sorry I screamed" I apologized with my eyes closed so I wouldn't see the dark hallway.
"It's alright, I know you're scared" dad said and I felt him pulling me away from him. "Open your eyes kid"
"Dad....I don't...."
"It's alright. I'm right here with you. Just open your eyes for me" dad said softly.
I nodded and took a deep breath before I opened my eyes. Dad was in front of me but his face was slightly light up be the arc reactor in his chest.
"Not so dark anymore, is it?" He smirked.
I smiled and shook my head as I dried my tears.
"C'mon, let's get you something to eat. Don't worry about the dark. I'll be your very own flashlight man" Dad said and started leading me towards the kitchen.
