Chapter 233: Chaos Walking REVAMPED
Ever since what the government called the Avengers Civil War, Tony had been trying to get Ross to leave the rogue Avengers alone. He made a deal with him to get the team back. All charges dropped, in exchange for them to take a break from missions. But today Peter is meeting them, well as Peter Parker, not Spider-Man. So that should be interesting... right?
"Good afternoon Peter. Should I inform Mr. Stark of your arrival?"
"No Fri, I'm good. Also good afternoon to you too!" Peter walked in the elevator, and pressed the button for floor number twenty three. As Tony asked him to come into the council room. The teen saw Tony pacing back and forth outside the room before stopping when he saw Peter.
The man greeted his pupil, "There you are Underroos, I thought you wouldn't make it."
"I wouldn't miss it Mr. Stark, you need me, so I want to help."
"Okay, you ready?" Tony asked.
"Yup, are you?"
"Alright, c'mon." They walked in seeing everyone sitting around the table. "Hello everyone." Tony greeted. They didn't say anything, just stared, seeming suspicious of the kid. But Peter wasn't intimidated in the slightest. "Who's the kid? One of your charity cases, Stark?" Sam asked.
Peter rolled his eyes, 'Hostility right off the bat huh?' he attempted to stifle a laugh, it was hard, because of the audacity these traitors had.
"No, this is Peter Parker, my intern." Tony sighed, replying back.
Clint made a snide remark, "What, does he get your coffee?"
Tony shook his head, "No. Peter is ridiculously smart, probably smarter than me and Bruce."
"I thought you said you didn't want kids interning because they would 'screw everything up'?" Natasha quoted.
Tony crossed his arms, "Well a lot has changed since you all went rogue."
Steve turned to Peter, questioning, "Let me guess. Peter, he spends all day in the lab and belittles you for doing something he doesn't think is right?"
"No, Mr. Stark is my mentor. A good one at that." Peter explained.
"You're just saying that to cover him. He's selfish and only worries about himself." Peter once again rolled his eyes.
The teen was ready to let them have it, "I don't appreciate you insinuating I'm a liar. As you lied to Mr. Stark knowing your best friend killed his parents."
"Sure, protect your mentor all you want." Wanda retorted.
Peter laughed, 'oh the irony', "Mr. Stark didn't brainwash me, but I'm pretty sure you've done that plenty of times."
"You have no idea what we do everyday! So how about you leave and let the adults talk." Sam replied, annoyance lacing his voice.
Peter shook his head, "That's where you're wrong. I know exactly what it feels like, winning and losing battles."
The adults gawked, "How? You're thirteen years old."
Peter sighed, these people weren't all that bright were they? "Actually Katniss I'm fifteen. I'm also someone you've met before just with a mask fighting at an airport."
They didn't get the hint, he sighed again, fully exasperated. "I'm Spider-Man."
"I dropped a hanger on this kid?!" Steve exclaimed.
"I've been through much worse Star and Spangled you're not exactly truth and justice."
"Ha, what have you been through? The rest of us haven't?" Clint asked.
Peter chuckled darkly, "Let's see, my parents died when I was six, my uncle died when I was fourteen. I found out my crush's dad was a super villain, he dropped a building on me and I almost died."
The room went silent, "Wow, that's actually really depressing."
"I know, there's a thing called therapy. You should try it sometime." Peter said sarcastically.
"Why don't we stop dancing around this? You were immature and prideful to admit your faults. Instead, you left Mr. Stark to clean up your mess."
"You really think you know everything?!" Wanda shouted.
Peter kept his tone steady, unwavering and not shouting. "I do, believe me, I witnessed it. Mr. Stark was doing everything in his power to get Ross off your backs. But what do you do to repay him? You cause more chaos. You made a fool of yourselves and started trash talking me and my mentor because you can't go play superheroes."
"So unless you want to get thrown out of here. And have Ross hot on your trail, then listen and pay attention cause I'm not repeating myself. You don't have any authority, I do." Tony smirked, because the reactions on everyone's faces were priceless. 'that's my boy.' The two of them walked out, leaving the rogues in disbelief.
