Ever since Peter was little, he always admired his aunt and uncle's relationship. He was glad to have them, they were a team, they always seemed to be able to read each other's minds and know what their spouse was thinking. They didn't have to take him in when his parents died, but they did, and he was extremely grateful. The two of them weren't that much into PDA, but had little ways of showing affection. Ben's love language was acts of service, while May's was words of affirmation.

She encouraged him to be the best version of himself every day, and he gave her bear hugs whenever she needed them. Peter was amazed at how much two people could look at the other like they were falling in love all over again. One day, Peter wanted to know how his aunt and uncle met, he realized he had never heard the story before. Although, he has looked through the wedding photos a million times. "Hey May, how did you and Ben meet?" He asked.

May turned away from the stove to make eye contact with her nephew, while Ben took a sip of his decaf coffee. "Why do you ask sweetheart?"

The twenty one year old shrugged his shoulders, grabbing an apple slice and taking a bite. "I realize neither you nor Ben have told me your epic love story." He said with a dramatic tone.

"You sure you wanna hear this, Pete? It's a pretty short one." Ben replied with a smirk.

Peter nodded his head, insisting them to continue. "Alright then, it was the year 1989. I was about 19."

A tall chocolate haired gentleman closed the driver's side door of his pickup truck, making his way towards his favorite bookstore. There was a reason he was going, he had a novel to return, and a young, pretty, brunette to see. It was shallow, sure, but if any other guy saw her they'd agree with him. He swung the door open, hearing the sound of the bell ring above his head, altering anyone of a new arrival. The young man waltzed up to the counter, seeing the girl wearing her round rimmed glasses, she greeted him. "You here to return a book?" She asked.

He nodded his head, sliding the book towards her, "Yep, and I'm going to pick out a new one."

She saw the title, "The Catcher in The Rye. That's a good one, I haven't read it in a while."

"Yeah, it definitely brings a tear to one's eyes." He answered.

She set the book to the side, adjusting her glasses, "I can give you a recommendation for a new read."

He chuckled, "Hit me, I don't have a particular book to grab this time."

"Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen, it's a classic and will keep you busy, it's got four hundred and thirty two pages." She said.

"Is it your favorite?" He got a 'mhm' in reply, deciding he'd get that one.

"Okay." Once he finished returning the novel, the girl behind the counter walked with him, going and finding Pride & Prejudice. They found it and went back to the cash register, the man pulled out a twenty dollar bill, handing it over to her. He looked at the corner of her shirt, seeing a tiny pin that read: May. It must've been her name, he couldn't believe he didn't know it until now, he'd been going to this shop for months!

"Thanks for the recommendation, May."

She gave him his change, "No problem... I totally forgot to ask you your name."

"Ben, my name's Ben." The two smiled at each other, as time went on Ben continued going to the shop, reading all of May's favorites, she caught onto it. Telling him to just ask her out, and he did, a couple years later Ben proposed, the first time May said she wasn't ready, so he waited a year and asked again. She said yes, the two married in 93'.

Peter grinned from ear to ear, he found the story incredibly lovely, call him a hopeless romantic. He didn't care, his aunt and uncle had a relationship he'd hope to have someday. He was still young, there was still time to ring someone soon. "You guys are adorable."

May raised an eyebrow, "Really? You used to tell us to get a room even when we'd give each other a kiss on the cheek."

"Yeah, well, I was a naive child." The three of them laughed and enjoyed a quiet family breakfast.
