Its okay...I got you/22
"Hey, Pete, I want you to meet Jacob. He's a new intern!" Tony smiles brightly at Peter who was tinkering with some gadgets for the Iron Man suit.
The boy, Jacob, stood next to Tony with an overconfident smile. He had blonde hair and hazel eyes and was quite tall. He wasn't particularly muscular or skinny, like he stood in the middle ground between the two. Jacob had a quiff at the top of his head. He wore light, ripped jeans and a unbuttoned red button down with a gray shirt underneath. He looked to be about 19.
"Hi Jacob. I'm Peter." Peter smiled gently, extending his hand to shake it. Jacob rolled is eyes.
"Yeah. Whatever." Jacob didn't shake Peter hand, instead he kept his arms crossed. If Tony cared that Jacob was being an ass, he didn't show it. Instead Tony smiled. Strange.
"I'm going to show Jacob around, alright Pete?" Peter nodded and turned back to his project. "See you later Underoos."
"See ya." Peter waves his hand dismissively and carried on tinkering. Peter hoped Jacob wouldn't get really close to Mr Stark since Peter doesn't want to have to put up with that kid.
~~~~~
"Hey, Mr Stark. I need a ride home from school Uh, call me back if you can. Uh, bye." Peter frowned as he put his phone away into his pocket. Usually Tony isn't this late. It's been a half hour since school ended. Peter noticed the black car that pulled up to the school. Happy Hogan to the rescue.
Happy rolled down the window. "Sorry Peter. Boss told me to pick you up." Peter shrugged and opened the car and hopped in, closing the door behind him.
Silence before Happy decided to break it.
"Jacob and Boss were in the labs and lost track of time. They're uh, messing around with the suit." Peter really wishes he could ignore the ache in his heart.
"Cool, cool." Peter nodded.
Happy decided maybe the car ride could be done without talking.
"Well, he was supposed to be here a hour ago, Ned I don't think he's coming. It doesn't matter anyway. I can do it without him." Peter huffed to Ned. Ned wasn't confident that Tony not being here wasn't affecting Peter.
"Are you sure Peter? I mean, you told him a million times over about this." Ned tried.
"No, no, it's fine. He's a billionaire. He's got better things to do than to come to some stupid high school decathlon meet. It's okay." Peter reasoned out. Ned frowned.
"I don't want to alarm you or anything, but you know how you told me about Jacob? What if Tony's with Jacob or somethin'?
Peter opened his mouth but no words came out. Peter took a deep breath. "If he is, then good for Jacob." Peter nodded at that like that was it. That was the end of the conversation.
"Are you su-"
"I'm sure."
"Alright..but-"
"I am sure, now let's go win." Peter pressed. Ned gave up and nodded confidently.
"Alrighty."
"This is Jacob, my...new intern here at Stark Industries. He will be helping you guys, he has a very bright mind, with new ideas." Tony smiled proudly, holding Jacob's shoulder.
The scientists looked uneasy, but smiled anyway.
"I'd say even brighter than Peter's." Tony looked at Jacob with fond eyes. Jacob smiled gently, like he was all innocent. As if.
"You'll grow to really like this kid, I mean, I have." One of the scientists rose their hand.
"If I may ask Mr. Stark, where is Peter? We haven't seen him in awhile."
"Oh, Peter? Off doing...whatever he does... back to Jacob. He's a really nice kid."
The scientists weren't all that fond of the boy when Tony left and his ego inflated. What nobody knew if that Peter was going to go into the lab when he heard Tony talking about Jacob.
~~~~~~
Peter tapped his pencil against the table of Stark labs. He was concentrated on solving this equation needed for coding on the Spider-Man suit. He bit his lip, and stared at the problem. Suddenly it came to him. Peter quickly scribbled down the answer and quickly typed in the coding. Peter then sprinted to the suit that was hooked up to many wires and presses a button on the suit. Suddenly the suit got bigger with a foam type thing. For emergency purposes of course.
Pete breathed out a sigh in relief, knowing that his injury rate would go down. Peter gathered his notebook and pencils around and even grabbed his laptop. He exited the labs, going to the kitchen for a snack of some sorts. Peter was really hungry.
Peter entered the kitchen not really paying attention to the fact that there was a movie going on and Jacob and Tony Stark were watching it together.
Peter grabbed an apple and nearly exited the room before he heard something from the duo.
"Thanks for the movie, Dad." That...was Jacob's voice...
"No problem, son." And that...was Mr. Stark's voice...
Peter hurried into his room, feeling bile rise in his throat. Did Mr. Stark replace him? Did Mr. Stark not care about him anymore? What if Jacob replaces Peter and Peter has to move out onto the streets? These were all the thoughts of an anxious teenager with anxious thoughts.
~~~~~
Peter scratched his arm mindlessly. He was in deep thought, debating whether or not to leave.
Peter heard the whoosh of his bedroom door and he snapped his head up to look at the intruder. It was Tony.
"Hey, Pete...I was wondering...well Jacob wants a room here and wants this one..so..." Peter took a deep breath.
"You know what Tony? Let him have everything I own. I won't be staying much longer, so no point. I'll take some of my stuff and go. Don't want to ruin anything here, you know?" Peter smiled bitter sweetly. Tony frowned.
"That's not what I meant, Pete-"
"I mean, come on Mr. Stark. Bright mind, right? Brighter than mine? What's the point of keeping me around when there's someone better?" Peter stood up from his bed, and slung his school bag around his shoulder.
"Pete-"
"It's fine. You still have a son, Jacob."
"Peter I-"
"It's fine Tony." Hearing Peter say his actual name instead of Mr. Stark struck a cord in side
of him.
While they had been talking, Peter was gathering all of his stuff including clothing, money, his phone and charger, books, his school work, and even his laptop. Peter did not want Tony nor Jacob snooping into his stuff.
Peter rolled up his sleeve to reveal his web shooters. Peter opened the window and stood up.
"Peter please-"
"You have Jacob. You don't need me."
Peter disappeared into the blackness of night.
~~~~~~
"A teenager who goes by Peter Parker-Stark is missing. He was reportedly seen in West Manhattan last week. Peter has brown hair and brown eyes and looks like this...if anyone has any leads on the missing teen, contact the police station and or Stark Industries. I'm Becky Hartman, and this is CNN."
The tv clicked off and there was Tony Stark in the couch, with his head on his hands, staring at the black tv screen. He messed up. He really messed up.
He sighed and picked himself up. He had to do something that made him feel like he made an effort. It wasn't like he was opposing to find Peter, he just didn't know how he would apologize. Tony was really scared that Peter would hate him forever. Scared to meet Peter's eyes and only see hatred. The same hatred in his eyes when he swung out the window. Tony hated that disgusted look on Peter's face. It didn't fit.
"Tony?" Tony snapped his head up to meet the baby blue eyes of Captain America, the man he's least expect coming to willing talk to him. Although on peaceful ground with each other, there always was that tension that was never released when they made up.
"Steve." Tony acknowledged with a nod of his head as Steve sat on the couch with Tony.
Silence hung between the two, and only a chainsaw could cut through the uncomfortable tension.
Steve took a deep breath. "When I lost Bucky...I was lost for short of words. I didn't know what to with myself, knowing he had probably died, and I couldn't...I couldn't do anything about it. I felt like..it was my fault. Like I was the reason he had 'died'. When I had more time to think about the incident...I realized I wasn't the one at fault. If I hadn't released that burden, I would've...heh..died of stress..." Steve sucked in another deep breath. His eyes teared, but he wiped them away before they could fall. "When I had realized it was Bucky that was the Winter Solider...I didn't know what to do... I mean.. it was Bucky... the guy I owed my life to and my best friend, why wouldn't I feel that ache in my heart? Bucky recovered from his time at HYDRA and we...we made up...we talked...we argued and laughed...but most of all... we realized, we were inseparable. We were bonded together..." Steve smiled fondly at his twiddling hands. Steve looked up from his hands and stared at Tony with a warm smile. Like Steve finally took a chainsaw and sawed the tension in half. "I feel as though maybe you Peter are like that as well. Bonded. Maybe not in the sense Bucky and I are..." Steve blushed. "But, in a father-son sense. Peter loves you, Tony. Just like Bucky loves me as a best friend.."
(Ahah, lmao, Stucky 4 lyfe)
Tony sat there, the stress in his shoulders, relaxing. He knew Steve was right. Peter and himself were bonded. Father and son, dear god, they were bonded. Tony composed himself before standing up.
"Thank you Steve, I needed that." Tony nodded thoughtfully. Steve's eyes glistened and he stood up as well, facing the billionaire. Steve fathered Tony in a tight hug.
"You can talk to me anytime, Tones." Steve held Tony by the shoulders and earnestly gazed into Tony's eyes. Steve's eyes didn't hold hate or love, just the simple look you'd give your best friend.
~~~~~~
Peter shivered against the alleyway wall, curling into himself, trying to gather as much warmth as possible. His cheeks were flushed and his nose tinted red. The cold teen took heaving breaths, trying to suck in as much oxygen as he could.
Peter held his knees to his chest and kept his backpack between his knees and his stomach, trying to see if warmth would somehow appear.
"Peter?" Peter didn't bother to look up to who was talking to him. To be honest, he didn't care. He was focused on being warm and breathing. Why did today have to be snow, snow, and snow?
"Peter? Is that you?" Peter didn't respond. He curled up into a ball.
"Oh Peter, I'm so sorry." Peter looked up at the dark figure, who had open arms, reaching out to gather Peter into their arms.
"T-T-Tony...." Peter said faintly. He exhaled softly and closed his half lidded eyes. Maybe he could finally rest.
"It's okay, I got you..."
A/N: Autocorrect loves to correct "talk" to "y'all" Ugh, it's gonna be the death of me someday.
No, I do not ship or condone Petony or Toneter. (TonyxPeter) That is horrible and very illegal. I wrote Stucky in here and platonic Tony and Peter. I will never ever write stuff like that ever. If you can't take the hint, here it is.
Also, guys, just a reminder for y'all(not trying to say t a l k) I love you guys with all my heart, and remember you are loved.
