"I am... Inevitable"
"Well guess what asshole? I'm Peter Stark"
*snap*
** (Present) **
Tony smiled sadly at the memory of that snarky remark made by his son. He could still see so vividly how Peter was crouched down in his Spider-Man crouch, holding his hand up as the power of the stones coursed through his body. It almost looked like it didn't faze the teen.
Now, all that was left of that moment is a gravestone. So many flowers, blankets, dolls, even a sandwich from a man named Mr. Delmar. The man put it down saying it was Peter's favourite.
Peter Benjamin Stark
August 10, 2001-April 26, 2019.
A friend, a brother, and son, a hero.
"With great power, comes great responsibility"
Tony would be lying to himself if he said that just standing here didn't give him some sort of peace. For some reason he always felt as if Peter's soul is right there with him. Telling him that he's okay.
"Hey there kiddo. I decided to make a quick trip down here to say Happy Birthday. Mom and Morgan are in the car. They wanted to give me a minute to talk to you myself. I probably look beyond insane talking to a gravestone. It's weird buddy. You'd be 18 years old if you were still with us. My kid finally an adult. I'm sure you'd be happy to know that the Avengers have gotten back together. Since Steve is now old, he's living with us. Is actually really nice having him around. Morgan loves him to no end. We all spend the weekend at the newly built compound.
Morgan wanted me to tell you that she wants to be the new Spider-Man. She wants to follow in your footsteps. The girl never met you yet admires you to no end. That picture that we took before you were adopted now sits on her bedside table. I hear her talking to that picture like she's talking to you. I just really miss you bambino. As much as I want my son back I know I can't always get what I want. Who knows, maybe some miracle will come. Heh, I can't even convince myself to believe my own words".
Tony started crying as he stared up at the blue sky. Tears slowly falling down his face as he pictured his son's smiling face. His laugh, his eyes, his smile, his curly hair.
"Don't cry. I want to see you smile".
Morgan slowly walked up next to her father and grabbed onto his hand. Tony looked towards the small girl who just stared at the gravestone with a large smile on her face.
"He's watching over us daddy. He's our guardian angel" Morgan told her dad connecting their eyes. Small tears falling from her eyes. The same eyes that reminded Tony so much of Peter's.
"I know he is bambina. He told me he would. I wish you could've met him" Tony sighed kneeling down to hug his daughter tightly as he cried softly, laying his chin down on her head.
"I'll always... protect you. No matter what".
"I have met him. In all your stories. I'd like to think I know him quite well" Morgan retorted letting out a weak chuckle.
"In that case, you must know him very well. You both would've gotten along amazingly" Tony cried as his tears started to get heavier.
"I love you 3000 daddy" Morgan mumbled holding her father tightly trying to give him some kind of relief.
"I love you to the moon and back".
"I love you too Mo" Tony whispered placing a kiss on her temple.
Tony slowly stood up pulling Morgan into his arms. Tony's breathing was a bit staggered as he stared at the gravestone a bit longer. A small hand placed itself on Tony's shoulder massaging it slightly.
Tony sniffled looking at his wife who was also lightly crying. Pepper moved into Tony's hold letting her husband hold her as well.
"He's okay. I'm sure Peter is happy no matter where he is" Pepper mumbled kissing Tony's cheek.
"I know he is Pepper. He's our son. He's an angel watching over us now" Tony replied as his tears slowly came to an end.
"Live on for me".
"Peter would not have done what he did, if he didn't know that you were going to be here after he was gone" Pepper consoled Tony and Morgan who was slowly falling asleep from crying too much.
"I know Pepper. I see his face everywhere I go. I just really miss him" Tony responded kissing Peppers forehead.
"I know. I miss him too" Pepper sighed rubbing her tears with her handkerchief that Peter had made for her.
"I do too" Morgan yawned trying to get as close to her father as she could.
"Watch over everyone for me. Love you"
"Goodnight"

"Kid"
"Kid"
"Peter"
"Yo Spidey wake up"
Peter gasped as he jolted up from what he thought to be his soul leaving his body. He looked around frantically at the white space filled with what looked to be think long holes. Almost like tears.
"You're awake. That's good" a very light blonde haired man sighed kneeling in front of Peter.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Peter asked getting up and into a defensive position.
"Me? I'm Pietro. Welcome to the void. It's the place between life and death" Pietro said throwing his arms out.
"Usually this is supposed to be like the worlds horrible version of purgatory" Loki blurted our making both Peter and Pietro jump at his sudden appearance.
"Nobody knows how people end up here. But there's seems to be something wrong" Natasha growled making her presence known as well.
"Before all of you showed up. It was just me. I was stuck in this large empty space. I do not know how long I've been here. Then all of these tears started showing up just as this boy appeared with us" Pietro explained crossing his arms.
"They're almost like tears in the universe. Something must have messed with the space time continuum" Loki added using a bit of magic, that faltered slightly, to show many tears appearing in the universe. Yet, not really obstructing anything.
"He who set the world back in balance may control the powers of the universe" an eerie voice came through creating a sense of panic.
"WHO'S THERE?!" Peter yelled looking around for the source of the voice.
"We are the infinity stones. Our keeper has been chosen when he put the universe back in order" the voice, apparently the stone, replied echoing through the room.
"Is anyone else seeing the numbers above the tears?" Peter asked approaching one with a red 616 above it. He almost felt attracted to it.
"No? What are you seeing?" Natasha questioned looking at the same spot as Peter.
"Wait. Look at the child's eye" Loki butted in pointing a dagger as Peter's right eye making him jump backwards into Pietro.
"Holy shit" Pietro asked looking at Peter's eye.
His left eye was still it's usual hazelnut brown, while the other was a multitude of different colours. Like one big rainbow.
"What? What about my eyes?" Peter stressed putting his eye over it.
"It shows that he is the keeper of the stones. The stones are not physically on his, yet the powers are still there" the stones said making the small group gape.
"Does that mean, I'm the keeper of the stones? Didn't I die?" Peter asked as his eyes started to water because of the sudden anxiety.
"I guess it does" Natasha replied running her hand through Peter's hair.
"Does that mean we can leave?" Pietro asked helping Peter and himself up.
"Yes. But which one?" Loki inquired looking around at the many tears.
"616. I feel it. This one is ours" Peter responded sternly staring at the tear once again.
"Are you sure?" Natasha questioned looking Peter directly in the eyes.
"I'm sure. My gut sense says go this way. We're going this way" Peter said nodding his head.
Each person let out a small sigh as they walked into the tear. They were each yanked inside as they touched the tear. The next thing they knew was they were standing in front of a large body of water.
"Who are you?"
Peter knew that voice.
"Sam?"
"PETER?!"
*****
Sam held the shield up in defence staring wide eyed at the small group in front of him. Each person was supposed to be dead. Though he didn't know who half the group was.
"We don't want whatever you're selling. Disguising yourself as fallen heroes will not fool me. Now get out of here before I get the white wolf" Sam threatened as his eyes started to waver.
"Sam. I'm serious. I'm Peter. Remember? I commented on how your wings were carbon fibre during the airport battle. Please you have to believe me" Peter begged clasping his hands together giving his signature puppy dog eyes.
Sam was about to respond when he heard the revving of an engine. He turned quickly to see Tony's black Audi speeding itself down the road towards the front of the building.
"Clint. Get everyone outside to the lake now, tell them not to bring their weapons. Though it is urgent" Sam sighed talking into his earpiece.
"On our way" Clint replied before the line was shut off completely.
"You're lucky nobody can ever pull off those puppy eyes as well as you can kid" Sam grumbled smirking at Peter who smiled widely and ran forwards to hug his friend.
*****
Peter held onto Sam as a wide smile was on his face. Small sniffles were heard from Sam which only made Peter hold him tighter.
"You idiot. Even when we get out of the Stone you're still doing stupid things" Sam mumbled in Peter's ear.
"Sorry Sam. Didn't mean to disappoint you. But I always do stupid things" Peter joked leaning back to do a quick handshake with Sam.
Peter laughed quietly as they did an intricate handshake. Just like how Peter has one with Ned, he has one with Sam and Bucky. They created the weirdest but the best bromance while together in the soul stone.
"What's the matter Sa— NATASHA!" Clint screamed as he came up with the few others there with him.
Peter moves back to stand with the small group of those who were "dead" to stare at the other side.
Peter smiled widely at everyone he was staring at. Bruce, Sam, Bucky, Clint and his family, Thor, Wanda, Quill, Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Nebula, Drax, Mantis, Scott and his family, Carol, Steve, Stephen, Rhodey, and finally. Peter's family.
Peter couldn't help but laugh with Natasha, Loki, and Pietro at their gobsmacked faces. Although that quickly stopped when Tony's face went from shocked to furious.
"Who do you all think you ARE?!" Tony screamed clearly not having it.
"What are you talking about Stark?" Natasha asked raising an eyebrow.
"Who do you think you are impersonating fallen heroes? My son none the less. Get out of here before I blast you across the lake" Tony growled raising up a gauntlet at the surprised people.
"You aren't serious?" Pietro questioned letting a frown appear on his face.
"Now I may not be able to do much. But I believe what you all are doing is highly disrespectful" Steve responded speaking up from his spot next to Sam.
"Now I hate to break it to you. But they aren't lying. Well unless someone can perfectly remember what Peter had said to me during Leipzig and pull off his puppy eyes" Sam butted in making everyone turn to him.
Everyone started to argue with Sam in the background except for one small girl.
Morgan slowly walked away from the crowd towards the fallen heroes who either looked confused or slightly dejected. But they didn't blame them for thinking that way.
Peter left the group and kneeled in front of the girl who stopped just short of Peter's reach.
"As much as I would like you to be my brother, daddy told me that it's not possible. Please don't pretend to be my brother" Morgan mumbled making Peter's heart shatter.
"Sweetie. I promise you. I'm not lying. I'm actually not lying. You see that locket around your neck. That used to be mine. I gave it dad right after I snapped my fingers. On the inside should still be a picture we took while at Disneyland I have ice cream on my nose while dad has Cotten candy stuck in his beard" Peter tried to persuade the girl who took the small pendent in her hands.
Morgan slowly opened it up and stared deeply at the picture on the inside. As everything turned out to be true, the small girl slowly started to cry. Both in happiness and relief.
"You're my Petey" Morgan gasped before jumping on Peter who responded quickly by wrapping his arms around her and picking her up as she cried into her shoulder.
Their was silence as every watched their interaction. Pepper quickly moved to stand next to Peter who looked up at Pepper with so much emotion. The small smile made Pepper's heart swell as tears started cascading down her face.
"My baby" Pepper cried wrapping her arms around her son trying to hold him as close as she could.
"Sorry I made you wait so long mom" Peter whispered kissing her cheek.
"No apologies. You being here is enough" Pepper responded before pulling back and pulling Morgan into her arms letting Peter be fully exposed to the the one person who was frozen in his spot.
Peter turned his head as he wiped his eyes gently to stare at his father who simply couldn't move.
"Hey dad" Peter said quietly, but loud enough that Tony could hear him.
Tony stood there taking a good look at his son who had somehow risen from the dead. To Tony, Peter looked almost as he did when he left to go to that field trip many years ago. The same dorky outfit and everything.
"Peter..." Tony breathed out as emotions hit him like a tsunami.
Peter had barley any time to react before Tony crashed into Peter holding him tightly. Peter stood there shocked and Tony started to violently sob into his shoulder. Peter let himself slack and he grabbed onto the back of his fathers sweater to hold him just as tight.
"I'm here. Honestly I don't know how but I'm here" Peter whispered silently crying trying to calm down his father who was still sobbing.
"You're here. You're here" Tony hiccuped pulling back slightly to cup his son's face.
Peter smiled and leaned into the touch letting Tony wipe his tears away. Tony quickly pressed a kiss onto Peter's foreheads before holding him tightly again.
Tony locked eyes with Pepper who was standing close by with Morgan in her arms. Both were smiling at the reunion between father and son. Tony reached out and pulled Pepper and Morgan into the embrace.
"You're eye is very pretty Petey" Morgan said breaking the tear filled silence.
"Care to explain how you got it?" Tony inquired finally calming himself down enough to stop crying.
"It could take a while" Peter replied chuckling softly which made Tony smile widely.
"We've definitely all got the time for it" Pepper said running her hand through Peter's hair.
"I'm sure we all do" Steve put in making the family look up.
Peter smiled happily at his other fallen friends. Natasha was practically being held by everyone. Loki was simply being held by Thor, Loki kind of looked happy in his brothers arms. Pietro was holding onto Wanda while Clint had his arm around him. Peter then looked towards his family before stopping at Tony who smiled right back at him.
"Well... it starts like this.."
