He's My Intern
Also someone said they wanted more of this, so they're getting more.
The team being confusing on who Peter is.
~unedited~
Team:
Natasha, Steve, Clint, Sam, Bucky, and Scott; have finally made terms with everyone and everything and is now moving back into the tower. Wanda had decided to stay elsewhere.
They were told they would have their own floor in a span of two weeks. Tony didn't know they were officially moving back in until a last minutes notice, so the rooms wouldn't be done by the time they got there.
With their luggage, they loaded into the elevator.
"Do you think he's gonna forgive us?" Clint asked.
"He already did." Sam said.
"I mean actually forgive us, not say that he does."
The elevator dinged and they got off, surprised at what they heard.
"Shit! I forgot they were coming today!" Tony's voice was heard and some shuffling around, before he came to great them.
"Hello, sorry for the wait. Friday will tell you where your rooms are, is that all?" Tony was rushing his words and was clearly ready to leave.
"We were hoping to spend time with everyone, not just as a team, as friends." Steve said.
Tony sighed. "That would be great, but, I can't do that right now."
"Why not?" Sam asked.
"You interrupted me while I was watching a movie." Tony said, holding up the popcorn bowl in his hands that no one had paid any attention too.
"Cool, we'll watch together." Clint said, everyone already moving to the living room.
"Wait- shit." Tony followed them in, waiting for the questions, but the living room was full with everyone sitting on the couch.
Tony looked around, confused.
"What are you doing?" Tony looked over at Natasha.
"Oh nothing, let's watch the movie."
"Star Wars?" Natasha asked.
"Very good movie series." Tony said.
Clint smiled, "Almost all of us are back together again!" He threw confetti up in the air.
"Where the hell did you get that shit!" Tony said, surprised.
"It's been in my pockets for days, I was waiting for the right time to use it."
"You're cleaning it up." Tony said, pointing at him.
"Achoo!" A baby like sneeze was heard. The team looked around to see who it was.
"Uh, sorry." Tony said.
"That was you?" Natasha asked.
"Yes." Tony said.
"Achoo!" The sneeze was heard again, but it obviously wasn't Tony.
The team pulled out their weapons, ready to face an intruder.
"Woah, woah! Put that shit up." Tony said quickly.
"Uh, why?" Clint asked.
Tony sighed. "I swear. Come on out, you blew your cover."
"Sorry, the confetti made me sneeze."
Everyone turned to look behind the couch to see a short teen with brown hair and eyes.
"What happened to staying under the blanket like I said too?" Tony asked.
"They were coming in here, so I rolled behind the couch." Mysterious Kid said.
"Who are you?" Steve asked.
Mysterious Kid looked over at Tony, who gave a response.
"My intern."
"What's his name?" Sam asked.
"Ah, questions, questions. All will be answered in time." Tony said dramatically, then turning to Intern Baby.
"Alrighty kiddo, lab time?"
Intern Baby smiled brightly, bouncing over to Tony.
"Yes!"
The two walked out of the living room, talking about someone named Ted or Ned or Ren.
"Friday, who is that?" Steve asked.
"Information classified."
"What the fu-"
Steve:
Steve hasn't seen Intern Baby since he left for the lab with Tony, which was yesterday.
He saw him briefly this morning as he and Tony left, Steve guessed to take the kid to school.
Steve had a theory that Intern Baby was Tony's secret child, it hasn't been completely confirmed yet though.
He walked in the kitchen to see Intern Baby sitting at the counter, drinking apple juice and eating cookies.
"Hey." Steve said, getting a cup from the cabinets.
"Hi Mr. Rogers." Intern Baby replied, taking a sip of his juice from a straw.
"So, how was school?" Steve asked.
Intern Baby looked up before taking a bite of his cookie.
"It was okay, I guess."
"You guess?"
"I don't like school." Intern Baby said.
"Why not?"
"People are assholes sometimes."
"Language!" Tony said, hitting Intern Baby lightly on his head.
"Hey! That's child abuse." Intern Baby said, "I'm gonna report you."
"Not if I can catch you."
Intern Baby's eyes widened. "No, I'm sorry! Don't tickle me!" He stumbled off his stool and ran out of the kitchen.
Tony laughed, taking a sip of coffee.
"Is he yours?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, he's my intern." Tony left the room, probably to go find Intern Baby.
Steve sighed, at least he had more proof Intern Baby was Tony's kid.
Sam:
Intern Baby was very annoying.
He was always talking and always bouncing around. He's just a ball of happy energy.
Sam bad woken up in the middle of the night and his stomach was acing for something to eat. He threw off his covers and made his way to the kitchen.
"Oh, hi Mr. Wilson!"
"Ah!" Sam stumbled back and turned towards to stove. There Intern Baby was, cooking something in a pan.
"Sorry, did I scare you?"
"No shit, why are you up this late?"
Intern Baby put something on a plate, put some white stuff on top and slid it over to Sam, along with a bottle of syrup.
"French toast." Intern Baby said, sitting across from him with his own.
"Why are you up, if you don't mind me asking?" Intern baby asked, pouring some syrup on his toast.
"Woke up, got hungry."
Intern Baby nodded, making a noise of understanding.
"What about you?" Sam suspected he couldn't sleep because he had so much energy.
Intern Baby shrugged, shifting in his seat. It was obvious he didn't want to talk about it and for some reason Sam suddenly felt protective of him.
"Don't want to talk about it?" He asked.
Intern Baby shook his head. "Thanks though, Mr. Wilson."
"P- kiddo? Friday told me you were awake. You have school tomorrow." Sam recognized the voice as Tony's.
"I know." Intern Baby pushed his toast around on his plate.
"C'mon, let's talk about it." The gentleness in Tony's voice shocked Sam a little bit, he definitely didn't think that kid was just his intern.
Intern Baby sighed, throwing away the food and putting the dish in the sink.
The two left the kitchen and Sam sat there, wondering what the hell just happened.
"What in the fucking fatherly hell?"
Natasha:
Intern Baby was very interesting.
He was very secretive and she couldn't find out anything about him, due to Friday.
"You do not have access to that information."
She watched him with interest, picking up on his small habits.
He would rub the back of his neck in awkward situations, wring his hands behind his back if he was in trouble, stutter when he was nervous or scared. She picked up on the little things.
She wanted to get to know him, but she couldn't due to Friday and Tony hogging him all day and night.
Luckily for her the opportunity fell into her lap at three in the morning.
Natasha woke with a start, she was sweating and her breath was uneven.
She dreamed about it again. She didn't like dreaming about it. So she got out of bed and made her way to the kitchen for hot chocolate.
She got a mug and the packet, poured in some milk, and heated it up. When she turned around Intern Baby could barely be seen down the hallway, coming towards the kitchen.
She smiled and pulled out another mug and packet.
"Oh, hi Ms. Romanoff. What are your doing up?" Intern Baby took a seat at the bar.
Natasha thought for a moment before speaking. "Do you like peppermint in your hot chocolate?"
"No thank you." Natasha put a stick of peppermint in hers and gave Intern Baby one without.
"Bad dream. What about you?" She said after a moment, taking a sip of hot chocolate.
Intern Baby hesitated. She could tell what he was thinking by the look in his face. He didn't want to give away anything about himself, but he thinks he can trust her.
It made her smirk a little.
"Uh, bad dream." He finally said.
"Want to talk about it? Talking about my bad dreams always helps me."
Intern Baby looked up, before looking back at his hot chocolate. He was contemplating on whether or not he should tell her.
Insight on Intern Baby's mind: i can't tell her I'm spiderman that's a no no. I can't tell her about Ben, that's also a no no. I can't talk her about anything. I have to say something though, I can't say no, well I can but that might be rude. Ah shit I'm just going say that first thing that comes out.
Back to Natasha.
Natasha sat there waiting for him to come to a decision.
Intern Baby sighed, causing her to look away from her half empty mug.
"It was about my friends." He finally said.
"Your friends?"
"Yeah, my two best friends. They got hurt and I couldn't do anything about it. It's a sucky feeling and I guess I just got a bit shaken up."
Natasha couldn't read him. For the first time since she got here, she couldn't read him. She had no idea if he was lying or telling her the truth.
It was a bit unsettling, not being able to tell the truth or not. But she shook it off, she had to keep going if she wanted to find out more about him.
"How did your friends get hurt?" Intern Baby winced, she made the wrong move.
Intern Baby suddenly shook his head. "I don't want to talk about it anymore."
Natasha nodded, she wanted to know more but she knew her boundaries.
"Do you want a hug?" She asked, she had seen Tony hug him when she passed Intern Baby's room one time. It looked like he likes hugs.
Intern Baby nodded. She got up and wrapped her arms around him, him doing the same.
"Don't worry little one, you're safe here." She pulled away from him, giving him a small smile.
She was so out of character right now, but she couldn't bring herself to care she was showing him her soft side.
"I know." He smiled back.
"Do you want to talk about your dream?" He asked.
Natasha shook her head. "Talking to you made me feel better."
"Are you sure?" Intern Baby asked.
"Yeah."
"I'm here if you need me."
"Thanks."
Natasha suddenly sat back down. "So, what is your relationship with Tony?"
"I'm his intern."
Dammit, she tried.
"Kid, you in here?" Tony's voice called out.
"Yeah."
Tony took one look at Intern Baby and Natasha could basically see him soften.
"Bad dream?" He asked.
Intern Baby nodded, "Yeah."
Tony opened an arm, "C'mon."
Intern Baby smiled and allowed Tony to put an arm over his shoulder, Intern Baby clinging onto his waist.
"Good night Ms. Romanoff." He called over his shoulder.
"Good night."
She laughed to herself, that definitely didn't look like a mentor and mentee relationship. More like father and son.
She would find out what they're hiding soon.
Bucky:
Bucky didn't really care about Intern Baby. The kid just looked weird and nerdy, nothing he should think about.
Bucky's arm needed fixing, so he couldn't go on the mission with everyone else, but Tony said he would look at it when they got back.
Bucky forgot about Intern Baby's existence until he heard the elevator ding and the sound of baby footsteps coming towards the living room.
Intern Baby had his hood up, so he couldn't see his face.
Bucky felt a pain in his chest. Something about Intern Baby made him uneasy.
"Hey, can you help me with my arm?"
"Huh? Yeah sure, just let me put my stuff up." Intern Baby sounded shocked at the question, Bucky was shocked too. He wasn't even going to say anything to him.
Intern Baby came back and led him to a lab, face still hidden.
Bucky showed him how to take off his arm, watching how he started cleaning it.
Bucky has no idea what came over him, he doesn't know why he did it. But he's glad be did.
Bucky reached out and pulled down the kids hood, showing a bruised cheek.
Intern Baby squeaked and pulled the hood back up.
"It's too late kid, I already saw the bruise."
"Please don't tell, he'll make such a big deal about it and I don't want him to do anything bad!" Intern Baby started spewing words like a waterfall. He didn't even have to ask to know he was talking about Tony.
Bucky put his flesh arm in Intern Baby's shoulder.
"Don't worry I won't tell, as long as you tell me what happened." He bargained.
"There's this kid that picks on me-"
"Bully?"
"No! It's mainly just a sarcastic friendship-"
"But hit you."
"He felt really bad about it though, he looked sad and ran away after. He's already texted me and apologized too." Intern Baby finished Bucky's arm, letting Bucky show him how to put it back on.
"Wow kid, this feels great."
"Thanks." Intern Baby beamed at the compliment.
"Are you sure that kid isn't bothering you?" He asked.
"Yep."
"Why don't you want Tony to know?" Bucky was suddenly curious of his relationship with the man.
"Oh, since I'm his intern he liked to take really great care of me and-"
"Oh bullshit." Bucky interrupted.
"Huh?"
"You live here, and you're a minor. You have to be his son."
Intern Baby's face was as red as a tomato. "No, no! It's nothing like that, he's just my mentor."
"Okay, whatever you say." Bucky didn't want to push the kid too much.
Later that day Bucky found Intern Baby sitting on the couch watching tv. He had just gotten off the phone with Steve and was going to tell him that they were ok their way back.
"They're on their way back." He said.
Intern Baby jumped up. "Really! When will they be back?"
"Soon."
Intern Baby looked disappointed.
Bucky sighed, "Steve said they'll be back around five. So in two hours."
Intern Baby nodded before his phone started to ring.
He dig it out of his pocket and answered, "Hello?"
"What? But Bucky said that Steve said-"
Bucky raised an eyebrow, to which Intern Baby shrugged to.
"You'll be back tomorrow?" Intern Baby deflated, he look disappointed.
"No, Bucky is really nice. Why did Steve tell him five? Oh, okay."
Bucky sat down on the couch, waiting to see what the hell was going on.
"Yeah I will. Bye, love you too." Intern Baby hug up and plopped on the couch beside Bucky.
"Was that Tony?" Bucky asked.
"Uh yeah. He said they'll be back tomorrow, more evil robots showed up."
Bucky nodded, "You look a little down."
"Oh yeah, just not used to him staying out all night."
"Is he your dad or something?"
Intern Baby shook his head. "He's just my mentor."
"You and your mentor say you love each other."
Intern Baby rubbed the back of his neck. "You heard that?"
"Yep. So is he your dad?"
"Nope, I'm just his intern." Intern Baby got up and left, leaving Bucky in the couch.
"Who the fuck is this kid?" He mumbled out loud.
"Tony's intern."
"God dammit!" Bucky fell off the couch.
Scott:
Intern Baby seemed nice, Scott likes Intern Baby.
Team Cap had gone out, well Tony was supposed to go but he said he had other plans. Scott turned down the offer because it was Scott time.
Scott had every thing planned out. Movies, face masks, popcorn, candy. It was heaven. He had a Scott night once every month, and it was the best night of the month.
Scott was half way through Tangled when he ran out of popcorn. Scott paused the movie and went to go get more popcorn from the kitchen.
He passed through the living room, Tony was watching Brave, Scott guessed that was his other plans.
Scott got his popcorn, popped it, and started to leave the kitchen.
He heard sniffles, it sounded like someone was crying. Was Tony crying?
Scott went to investigate, but stopped short when be heard Tony speak.
"Why are you crying kiddo?"
Tony wasn't the one that was crying?
"Because the mom and the bear and then Merida, she-"
Scott peaked his head around the corner to see Tony hugging something wrapped in a blanket.
"It's alright kiddy." Tony turned back to the tv, an arm around Intern Baby.
Is that Tony's kid?
Scott stepped out of the kitchen, popcorn bowl I'm hand.
"Father-son night?" He asked.
"Holy-!"
"Shoot!" Intern Baby finished.
Tony shook his head. "He's just my intern."
"Yeah, I'm his intern."
"You were hugging and watching a movie with your intern?" Scott asked.
"Well-" Tony started.
"It's an off day and we got a little bored, so we decided to watch a movie. He wasn't hugging me he was reaching for something beside me." Intern Baby explained.
Tony nodded along while Intern Baby spoke. "Yeah, explained it down to the dot, kid."
Scott nodded. "Uh, okay."
Tony nodded, as did Intern Baby.
The two stared Scott down, making him smile nervously.
"Well, I'm just going to- to go," Scott pointed towards the hallway and walked out.
As soon as he got to his room and turned back on Tangled.
"What the literal fuck?"
Clint:
Clint liked Intern Baby. He was funny and would play Mario Cart with him until Tony dragged him away.
Clint wanted to know who Intern Baby was, so he conspired a plan. Plan Catch Intern Baby, or PCIB. No one agreed to do it with him but that doesn't matter, they would all agree soon enough.
Clint didn't spend time with Intern Baby as much as he would like, due to Intern Baby always hanging out with Tony or being out of the tower.
Clint decided to go visit Intern Baby after school. Not in a creepy way, just to get to know him. Clint overheard Tony and Intern Baby having a conversation and learned which school he goes to, something about how the school science needs to be harder or some smart people shit.
He waited outside the school until the bell rang and students started pouring out of the school. Clint watched each student, waiting for Intern Baby.
He finally spotted Intern Baby walking out beside a Filipino kid. He was about to call out, before he remembered he might not answer to Intern Baby. So instead he walked up to him, grabbed him, and took him to his car.
"Mr. Barton, no offense, but you can't just drag me to your car! People probably think I just got kidnapped!"
Clint shook his head. "Offense taken, it's okay no one saw me."
"Mr. Barton everyone saw you."
Clint opened his car door. "Don't worry, I didn't kidnap him!"
"That's Hawkeye!" Is what he got in reply.
Students immediately started coming over to the car.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit." Clint got back in the car and sped out of the school parking lot.
"Mr. Barton you can't just show up to my school! I really hope everyone forgets about this by tomorrow or I'm fucked."
"I don't want Tony on my ass either."
"I need to tell Happy not to pick me up today, since you kidnapped me."
"I didn't kidn-"
"Yeah, hey Happy. No, no, no. No, listen okay? Mr. Barton kidnapped me so you don't have to pick me up. Yes, tell him. Okay bye."
"Tell who?" Clint asked.
"Who do you think?"
"Tony?"
Intern Baby nodded.
"Fuck!"
"Well is he your dad or something?"
"Mentor."
*****
"Want to explain why you kidnapped my intern?"
"No, not really."
Tony stared him down, holding onto Intern Baby's arm.
"Can I go now?" Intern Baby spoke up after a few seconds of silence.
"No." Tony said.
"Explain, Barton. Now."
"I wanted to know his name." Clint said.
"Okay, let me get this straight. You kidnapped my intern, just to know his name?"
Clint nodded. "Among other things."
"You have until I open my eyes to get the fuck out of my sight."
Tony blinked and called his suit.
"Oh shit, I'm sorry!" Clint climbed into the vents, barely missing a shot from Tony.
Team:
"Okay we need to discuss Intern Baby." Clint said in a meeting with Team Cap.
"Intern Baby?" Natasha asked.
"Wait that's not what everyone has been calling him in their inner dialogue?" Scott asked.
"No." Sam said.
It was silent before Clint continued.
"Anyway I'm here to bring up PCIB, who wants to join?"
"What's that again, I don't pay attention when you talk?" Bucky asked.
Clint shrugged, "Plan Catch Intern Baby."
"What do you mean by catch him?" Steve asked.
"Catch his identity."
"Why don't we just grill Tony until he gives in?" Natasha suggested.
"Plan Catch Intern Baby sounds so much cooler though."
"He's right." Steve said, shrugging.
Tony ran through the living room, causing everyone (but Bucky and Natasha) to jump in surprise.
"What the fuck!?" Sam screamed.
The team followed him to wherever he was going, wondering if he was okay.
Tony was seen waiting by the elevator, tapping his foot impatiently.
The doors opened and out walked Intern Baby.
"Are you okay kiddo?" Tony wrapped an arm around him and started walking, the team followed because they're nosey bastards.
"Yeah, it's just a fever." Intern Baby replied.
"I thought you couldn't get sick?"
Intern Baby shrugged, "I did too."
"Either way you're sick and you're bedridden until you're as healthy as a baby." Tony ruffled his hair and pushed him into his room.
"Goodnight little baby." Tony teased, waving at Intern Baby.
"Shut up!" Intern Baby whined, closing his door.
Tony laughed and then turned around, suddenly serious.
"You guys are the definition of stalkers." He stated.
"We just want to know who he is Tony." Steve said, stepping forward.
"Alright fine, I'll tell you who he is," Tony paused dramatically, his team waiting in suspense.
"He's my intern."
Multiple groans were heard, followed by Tony chucking.
