Solace in a Storm
I headcanon Sasaya to be half Hispanic (mom's family is from Spain) so there are Spanish-speaking parts in this. I'll put a translation of what they're saying in quotations
Takehito grumbled, shifting the bags in his arms to fix his jacket. It was practically pouring out, and he's pretty sure he heard thunder in the shop. His parents were working so it was just him and his Abuela. She was missing a few things and had asked him to get them. In a storm. He was hesitant to do so but knew if he didn't go then she would. So here he was. Carrying a grocery bag in one arm and an umbrella in another. He just wanted to go home, take off his somewhat wet clothes, shower and sleep. At least he was almost home.
As usual, he passed the park on his way back. He was just glancing around when something caught his eye. There was a sakura tree in the middle of the park, with a circle-shaped bench around the trunk. Someone was sitting on its legs on the bench curled up. Weirdly enough, they weren't wearing a jacket.
'Wow. What an idiot.' That's when he noticed the familiar brown, almost black hair with blond strands they had. The fact it was in a braid confirmed who it was 'Wait...That's my idiot.'
That was most definitely Luciel. He did prefer the rain, but never enough to go out with at least a jacket. He had been acting weird recently and had been pretty concerned. And he definitely looked upset. He couldn't just leave him there....
....."You know it's raining cats and dogs right?" Luc flinched, surprised but relaxed. He was still curled up and looking down at the ground. He was completely soaked, signaling he had been here a while. Sasaya was in front of him, holding the umbrella above him in an attempt to keep him dry.
"What are you doing?" No response. "Why don't you have a jacket?" No response. He frowned. "Can you at least look at me?" Luc didn't move and Takehito thought he was going to continue to ignore him but the boy, rather shyly, and he could see why Luc was hiding his face.
He had a huge black eye, taking up half his face. He wasn't wearing his glasses ether, but that wasn't what Takehito was focusing on. The shorter boy also had a sorrowful expression. He couldn't look the other boy in the eye.
"What...happened..." He didn't respond. It was obvious that something happened but he wouldn't be able to get it out of him. But he can't just leave him here, especially like this.
And he was tired of Luc acting weird. He sighed, gently gripping Luc's arm "Come on. Let's go."
"H-huh?"
"I'm not letting you stay out here in the rain. Come on, you can come to my house."
"I'm fine-" Sasaya imminently cut him off
"Luc. It's pouring out. You're shivering. You're coming with me whether you like it or not. And don't even think about running away." Luc paused, before letting out a sigh.
"Okay." He stood up and now Sasaya can see what he had in his arms. It's a backpack. It was pretty dry, but then again Luc was curled up around it so it makes sense. Said boy is shaking like a leaf. Takehito paused, held out the umbrella for the other to take. Luc was confused but t ook it. As soon as he let go of it, Takehito took off and held out his jacket to the other.
"I'm not taking that."
"Luc. You're still shaking."
"I'm soaked."
"Exactly." Luc looked at him, not amused. Sasaya returned his expression "Put it on or I'll put it on you myself." Luc sighed, handing him both his umbrella back and his backpack and putting on the jacket, zipping it up and pulling the hood over his damp hair.
"Better?"
"No." Sasaya gave him a look "Maybe." He just rolled his eyes, making sure they were both under the umbrella before heading back home. Luc had asked for the bag he had been carrying and put it in his own book bag and put it on. He was still shaking, a bit less.
Sasaya gets closer, wrapping an arm around him and pulling him to his side.
"Let go of me. I'm soaked"
"And who's fault is that. And no." Luc didn't make a move to leave, just looked down at the floor. The two walked the rest of the way in silence.
" Abuela, estoy en casa. Tengo a Luc conmigo. (Grandma, I'm home. I have Luc with me.)" Takehito said while closing the umbrella. Luc had taken off his shoes, but didn't follow the other into the hallway, still standing in the entrance. "What are you waiting for?"
"I'm dripping. I'm not making a mess." Sasaya gave him a 'really' look as his abuela came to the doorway. She was a very nice woman who spoke very little Japanese and Luc liked her a lot. And her cooking was to die for.
"¡Nieto! ¡Has vuelto! ¿Qué te llevó tanto tiempo? (Grandson! You're back! What took you so long?)" That's when he noticed Luc and the state he was in "Luc! What happened?" He turned to her grandson with a stern expression on her face "¿Qué estás haciendo de pie? ¡Ve a traerle algo de ropa seca! ¡Y una bolsa de hielo!(What are you doing standing around? Go bring him some dry clothes! And an ice pack!)" Although Luc couldn't speak Spanish, he did know Portuguese which was similar. So he was able to get an idea of what they were talking about.
Takehito rolled his eyes but turned to Luc "Come on. I'll give you some clothes." Luc shook his head.
"No. I'll wait in the bathroom. Less of a mess." Sasaya sighed
"Fine. Go wait. Dry yourself off with a towel in there, okay?" Luc nodded and set his bag down before heading to the bathroom. He had been here enough to know where it was. Sasaya walked to his room and looked around in his drawers for something the shorter could wear. He decided on a sweatshirt and a pair of shorts. He carried them under the arm and was heading to the bathroom but was stopped by his Abelua, who had a worried expression on her face.
"¿Qué le pasó? Su rostro ...(What happened to him? His face...)"
"No sé. No me lo dijo. Pero estuvo bajo la lluvia por un tiempo, así que sea lo que sea, es malo.(I don't know. He didn't tell me. But he was out in the rain for a while, so whatever it is it's bad.)" She frowned but handed him an icepack
"Asegúrate de que esté bien, ¿de acuerdo? (Make sure he's alright, okay?)"
"Lo haré (I will)" He took the icepack and she walked off. Takehito finally goes to the bathroom. Without knocking, he slowly pushed open the bathroom door
"Here, are these good-..." Takehito trailed off. Luc had taken off the jacket he was giving and his shirt and had placed it in the tub. He was facing the mirror and was drying his hair with a towel. He didn't see Takehito come in.
But Takehito could see the huge bruise on his back.
