【SEASON 6 EPISODE 9: PART TWO】
Miyagi-Do got fifteen minutes between their fight with the Rendentores and Cobra Kai to rest, stretch, or do anything else they needed to do.
The nine students just sat in the locker room; Lexi, Jules, and Eli sat on one bench, Julianna resting her head on the boys shoulder as she nervously picked at her nail polish while Lexi sat beside her. Lexi looked down at Julianna's hands and quickly reached over, interlacing their fingers so Jules would stop messing with her nails.
On the bench across from them was Demetri and Kenny while Miguel, Robby, Sam, and Devon sat on the bench in between the two.
No one spoke. You could hear a pin drop. Jules was too nervous to even take a sip of her water incase it would awkwardly break the already uncomfortable silence.
Not being able to pick at her nails or drink water, Julianna's leg started to bounce.
Robby noticed his twins nervousness and decided to be the one to finally break the silence. He let out a small laugh, looking between his teammates. "Come on, guys. We've beat Cobra Kai before. We can do it again." He said and Miguel nodded from beside him.
"One more time. Let's send our captains into the finals." Miguel said, waiting for Jules to look at him. When she did, Miguel sent her a big smile, hoping to calm her nerves.
Julianna felt her eyes sting as she smiled back to Miguel. This would be her last time fighting with Miguel. It started with just the two of them and now, it was ending.
"One last time. Win or lose, this is the last time we'll ever fight together as a team." Sam muttered. Jules could hear the girls voice waver in her words, and it only made Julianna's heart sink more. She didn't want this to end. Not yet.
Miguel took a deep breath and nervously ran his hands up and down his legs. "Damn, I guess. I've never thought about it like that."
"It's all I've been thinking about." Jules finally spoke, her voice raspy from trying her hardest not to let it shake. She felt Lexi squeeze her hand as she lifted her head to face her team. "After everything we've been though this..." Julianna's heart clenched, stopping her from speaking.
"This is it." Miguel finished for her and Julianna gratefully nodded her head, worried that if she tried to smile at Miguel, she would only start crying.
Robby watched Jules, wishing he could go over and sit by her and give her the biggest hug. Jules was able to be there for him when he needed it earlier in the day and now, all he wanted was to be there for her.
Ever since the were little, Robby always struggled being around Julianna was she was crying. Maybe it was an older brother instinct or maybe it was because he couldn't watch her big eyes slowly start to fill with tears and her bottom lip tremble before he felt like he was starting to cry as well.
But Jules was sandwiched in between Lexi and Hawk so Robby couldn't get to her. Since he couldn't be right beside her, Robby couldn't look at her. He couldn't cry too.
"So? How do we wanna go out?" He asked, looking to the rest of his team.
Jules kept her eyes down, taking deep breaths to control her emotions.
From across the locker room, Demetri slowly raised his head, his eyes glued on the boy across from him. "Eli?" He called out.
Julianna and Eli both lifted their heads, Eli looking to Demetri and Jules looking to Eli. She watched the tears start to prickle in Eli's eyes before he shot off the bench. "Dude. I'm really sorry."
In seconds, Demetri was up and meeting Eli in the middle for a hug. Jules let out a relieved breath, leaning on the lockers behind her. "Oh, thank God." She muttered so only Lexi next to her could hear her.
"I didn't mean to hurt you." Eli said into Demetri's shoulder and when they pulled away, the taller boy nodded his head reassuringly. "I know you didn't. I'm just scared of losing my best friend. I'm gonna miss you so much, man." Demetri whispered.
Demetri's words hit Julianna like a truck. This wasn't about karate anymore. These next few months would be the last time Julianna would see her friends every single day. Once they're off to college, it'll only be a handful of times every couple months.
Julianna spent almost all thirteen years of school with Eli, Lexi, and Demetri right beside her and once they graduate, it would never be like that again.
She felt her eyes start to water and in seconds, her vision blurred and she quickly tried to wipe her eyes before any tears fell, but she was too late.
Devon, tearing up at Eli and Demetri's interaction, turned to look at Jules when she saw the girl moving out of the corner of her eyes. When she saw Jules crying, it only made Devon let out a small cry mixed with a laugh. "Okay, that's enough. There's no crying in karate." Devon giggled out, wiping her own eyes.
Demetri and Eli turned to see what Devon was talking about and when their eyes fell on Jules, Eli's shoulders slumped, both he and Demetri let out bittersweet laughs at the sight.
Julianna quickly waved her hands around, wanting the attention off of her. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's all just hitting me." She cried, her voice wavering as she tried to laugh so people would stop looking at her.
Eli frowned, walking toward her. "Come here, baby." Eli breathed out, holding his hand out to pull her up. Immediately, Jules grabbed his hand and Eli pulled her into her and Demetri's arms.
As soon as she felt the four arms wrap around her, Jules finally let it out. Her shoulders shook as she cried into their arms.
After a couple seconds of hugging Jules and rubbing her back, Demetri decided to back away and let Eli take care of her. As soon as Demetri stepped back, Miguel jumped up and ran toward Demetri, pulling him into a hug.
Eli kissed the top of Julianna's head just as she turned. Her eyes fell on Lexi now sitting alone at the bench and Jules sniffled.
"Lex, get over here!" She called out and Lexi, who was teary eyed and trying her hardest not the cry, let out a small laugh and walked toward Jules.
Julianna pulled the girl into a hug just as Miguel wrapped his arm around Eli, ultimately pulling him, Jules, and Lexi into his hug with Demetri.
The two girls looked up to Miguel, who had a smile so big, it spread across his entire face. "The OG five." He said happily.
Jules snickered, remembering Miguel's first day of school with his braces, and Demetri's horrible comments. From beside her, Lexi groaned, shaking her head. "Ew." She muttered harmlessly.
Miguel's smile softened as he looked between Demetri and Eli. "You guys are always gonna be my brothers too." He said happily before his eyes loved to Jules and Lexi. "And sisters." Miguel added.
He moved his hand that was wrapped around Demetri to lightly punch Julianna's shoulder. "Literally." He giggled out, making Julianna roll her eyes and pull Miguel into a hug as she bit back a smile.
"We're a family. All of us." Sam said as Jules pulled away from her hug with Miguel. She looked around her team, and slowly, her shoulder started to straighten up.
"Can't believe I'm doing this, but..." She quickly sniffled and wiped her tears, a confident look now in her eyes. "Who are we?"
Lexi raised her eyebrows and laughed at Julianna's words. "Really?" She asked, making the blonde turn back to her. Jules quickly shrugged defensively, shaking her head. "What? We just watched High School Musical last night."
Robby stood up from the bench and walked toward his twin. "Miyagi-Do." He and the rest of the team said.
Jules turned to her brother as Sam, Devon, and Kenny all started to stand too. She nodded to him, silently thanking him for getting up and he returned the gesture.
Once the two captains were standing side by side, they looked around at their team. "Who are we?" Robby asked, his voice a little loud to hype up the team.
"Miyagi-Do."
With a smile, Jules laughed a little at everyone starting to get more pumped up. "We said, who are we?" She yelled and her team cheered around the twins.
"Miyagi-Do!"
As soon as her teams words left their mouths, Jules was thrown into a hug by Sam and Devon. The blonde let out a shocked yelp, laughing once she calmed down a bit.
She laughed at the hug Lexi got thrown into, the shorter girl being lifted by Eli as Miguel practically screamed in her face.
"You know, we did have one real doozy of an inspirational speech planned but it looks like you guys beat us to it.." Daniel said from the doorway of the locker room.
Slowly, the teams celebrating started to cue out and they turned to their senseis.
Jules smiled at the men, dipping her head to the two of them. "Our senseis taught us well." She hummed, her eyes mainly on her dad, making him smirk.
Although he admire his daughters words, and was proud, he didn't want to make it a "thing" right then. He clapped his hands, moving to look at his other students. "Enough of this kumbaya crap. It's time to get out there and kick some Cobra Kai ass!"
"Yeah!" The teens cheered, following their senseis out of the locker room.
Demetri, who was trialing the back of the group, stared at the back of Lexi's head in front of him. The girl was walking side by side with Sam, her arm wrapped around the LaRusso's shoulders while Sam had her arm wrapped around Lexi's waist.
"Lexi?" Demetri called out, his steps freezing when both Lexi and Sam turned around to look at him. Lexi looked to Sam beside her, her eyes a little wider than normal and her mouth opening and closing.
Sam gave Lexi a small smile, rubbing her back as some encouragement before she left the two alone, running to check up with her team.
There was six feet between Lexi and Demetri, but Demetri felt like he was miles away from her.
He felt all of the words he was planning to say get caught in his throat, refusing to come out. His heart started to beat faster the longer he watched Lexi. Watched the way her foot tapped nervously, and the way her fingers fidgeted with the sleeve of her gi.
She was waiting, but Demetri knew the silence was killing her too so he did everything he could the get the words out.
He took a step forward. Five feet now.
And suddenly, the words started to pour out of him.
"Lex, I'm so sorry for how I've been acting. Just... the thought of being far from you and not getting to see you everyday once you're at NYU and I'm at MIT, it's been killing me. Especially after we've gotten to spend these last couple nights literally falling asleep next to each other." Demetri rambled, worried that if he stopped to get a breath in, the words would get stuck again.
He watched as Lexi struggled keeping eye contact with her. Her eyes moving back and forth between her shoes and his eyes.
Demetri sighed, his shoulders deflating. "I know you have different interests than me. I've just..."
Now, Demetri was struggling to look at Lexi. His eyes moved to the ground and he took a deep breath to try and gain the courage he needed to look Lexi in the eyes again.
He could feel her looking at her. It was burning him and making a nervous sweat grow on the back of his neck.
Demetri licked his lips and forced himself to look back to Lexi's eyes. His confidence in this conversation was gone completely as his hands moved to twiddled with themselves, almost as if he was guilty of something, which in his mind, he was.
"I've just been worried that when you stop seeing me everyday, I won't be one of them anymore." Demetri admitted, his words quieter than before.
He watched Lexi nervously, waiting to see how she was would react to his words. And Demetri watched as her shoulders slumped and her face fell into a frown.
"Demetri..." Lexi muttered, starting to walk toward him.
Four feet.
Three feet.
Demetri's eyes moved to the ground.
Two feet.
One foot.
He felt Lexi's hands grab his face and move it until he was looking at her.
Lexi's eyes were softer now, and her palms were warm against his skin, but before he could process what was happening, Lexi had pulled his face down until their lips met.
Demetri's breath hitched, and his body still. His brain barely had a chance to catch up before he felt her deepen the kiss, and that was all it took for him to finally move.
His hands found their way to her waist, pulling her closer. It felt like time rewound, back to the first time they'd kissed—filled with the same nervousness.
Lexi pulled away first, her lips lingering close to his, and Demetri's heart raced as he stared into her eyes.
"You'll always be one of them." She whispered, her voice so soft it was almost drowned out by the pounding in his chest.
Relief washed over him in an instant, the weight of their argument and his fears for the past week lifting off his shoulders as her words sank in. He opened his mouth to respond, but before he could, she stepped back, sliding her hand into his.
"We have to go..." She said, a small, almost shy smile tugging at her lips. "The team's waiting on us."
Still dazed, Demetri let her tug him down the hallway, his fingers tightening around hers as he followed her back toward the arena.
When the two reached their team, Johnny was the one to notice them first. "Nice to see you two lovebirds have finally joined us!" Johnny yelled, making all eyes turn to Lexi and Demetri.
Jules wiggled her eyebrows tauntingly at Lexi, and the brunette rolled her eyes, moving to look at Johnny and Daniel.
"Remember, trust, tag, teamwork." Daniel said, and Julianna nodded her head, making sure she kept Daniel's word in her mind once the fight started. "Three T's. Got it." She whispered to himself, but Johnny, who was standing closest to his daughter, snickered at her words.
"Who's in first?" Daniel asked and one by one, every teen turned to Robby.
When the announcer called Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do up to the mat, Johnny and Daniel said their last words of encouragement before letting the kids go off.
Jules took a spot in the circle next to Yoon and based off the look on Kwon's face, she could've bet he was the one that was fighting first.
But as soon as Tory saw Robby walking toward the center, her steps sped up, shoving Kwon out of the way to go into the center.
"Oh no..." Jules whispered under her breath at how angry Tory looked while Kwon took the empty spot beside Jules.
Jules couldn't hear what Tory said to Robby, but she watched her brothers face pale just as the fight started. Tory ran at Robby, throwing every punch and kick she could at him.
Julianna was honestly a little nervous for her brother. She knew how powerful Tory's fighting could be when she was angry or upset.
Tory kicked Robby's forearm, knocking him to the floor, but not earning a point since it was a block.
He landed right at Julianna's feet and Robby looked up at his twin expectantly, waiting for her to stick her hand out to get tagged in.
Jules too a small step back, a nervous laugh leaving her lips. "Do not tag me in!" She whisper yelled.
Robby looked around for the next closest teammate to tag in and rolled toward Sam, who had her hand stretched out for him. He barely missed a kick from Tory as he rolled and from beside Julianna, Kwon chuckled.
Jules turned to face the Cobra Kai boy as Robby tagged in Sam. "Siblings always bicker. Even at very important times, hm?" He asked in a mocking tone. Julianna just rolled her eyes, making the boys smirk grow as she turned back to the fight.
Kwon and Julianna turned back ot he fight just as Sam grabbed Tory's leg and threw her to the ground.
The blonde landed right at Kwon's feet and with her arm unintentionally stretched out, Kwon tagged himself in. Kwon took slow strides toward Sam, making the girl take small steps back, but still stand her ground.
Out of nowhere, Kwon bolted toward Sam, letting out a battle cry and he jumped into the air, both of his legs rising as he started to spin. Sam was able to dodge the first kick, but she didn't have time to block the second before she was kicked in the head.
"Point!" The referee yelled as Sam collapsed right in front of Lexi.
"Sam!" Lexi yelled, her hand out for Sam to tag her in right behind her.
Sam looked back and as soon as Sam saw Lexi, the LaRusso girl reached forward, slapping her hand against Lexi's.
Once Lexi was tagged in, she jumped over Sam and ran at Kwon. Lexi threw two punches back to back and when Kwon tried to kick her in the stomach, Lexi jumped back, barely missing her.
Lexi spun around and raised her leg to kick Kwon in the face, but the boy ducked, Lexi's foot missing him by inches.
While Lexi was trying to land her soon without falling, Kwon used those spare few seconds to run toward one of his teammates, hoping to tag them in.
Lexi saw the boy run toward his teammate and she kicked her leg out. Kwon tripped over Lexi's leg sweep, but his movements only stumbled, not falling to the ground. Lexi brought her leg around again and while Kwon was still trying to catch his footing, she kicked him in the stomach.
"Point! Miyagi-Do 1-1!"
Even though Lexi got Kwon away from one team member, her kick only pushed Kwon closer to another.
Kwon tagged Yoon in as soon as he could reach the boy and in an instant, Lexi ran at him, not giving him the time to make the first move.
She aimed to kick in the side, stomach, and head, but the boy blocked all three. Lexi stepped back to catch her breath, and Yoon smirked, not moving. "Come on!" Lexi screamed, but Yoon didn't move.
Lexi's jaw clenched and she ran at Yoon. As she got closer, the boy aimed to punch her, but Lexi saw it coming. She got down to the ground and slid on her knees right under his arm and right toward Jules.
Without saying anything, the girls switched places and Jules ran toward Yoon while his back was still turned.
Just before Julianna could kick the boy and earn her team another point, Yoon turned around and his eyes widened at Jules running at him. He ducked under her kick and as soon as she was standing back up again, Julianna was throwing punches at him.
Yoon raised his arms, blocking all of Julianna's hits with his forearms and Jules tried to throw him off, aiming to knee his side.
He grabbed her leg and instead of striking her in the chest and scoring Cobra Kai a point like Jules thought he would, Yoon threw her knee up, making Julianna fall backward.
As her back started to hit the ground, Jules let herself roll, her hands pressed up by her head to push herself off the ground and roll backward until she was kneeling on the ground, one hand on the floor beside her.
"Jules, tag me in!" She heard someone yell behind her as Yoon started to run at her. Jules looked back and didn't waste a second slapping Demetri's hand.
Just like Lexi did with Sam, Demetri jumped over Julianna, his leg stretched out to kick Yoon.
He didn't land any points, Yoon still having stamina to block hits without even breaking a sweat.
It's wasn't until Demetri tagged Eli in that Julianna realized that was becoming the plan: just tire Yoon out, and don't let him tag anyone in.
Eli ran toward Yoon, jumping into the air and raising his fist to punch the boy in the face. Instead of normally blocking it, Yoon reached out for his arms and tugged him to the side.
His footing stumbled for a second, but Eli quickly recovered and blocked a handful of Yoon's punches before sending a couple of his own.
Hawks fists were fast, and everyone could see the frantic look in Yoon's eyes as he blocked all of them. Suddenly, Yoon started to subtly move toward his team to switch out, but Lexi saw it.
"Eli!" Lexi screamed, watching as Yoon ran toward the Cobra Kai beside her to switch places.
Julianna had never seen the boy run faster. He made it to Lexi before Yoon made it to his teammate. As soon as Lexi was when, she took a single step into the circle and turned to face the two Cobra Kai's.
She kicked Yoon's hand away from the other when he was just a mere few inches of getting out.
Yoon stumbled back and Lexi jumped to try and squeeze a kick in. His eyes widened and he raised his hands at the last second, blocking it.
Lexi groaned, but even though she got Yoon away from the one team member, she started to realize that he was backing up rather quickly, his eyes moving behind him to Kwon every few seconds.
"He's slowing down! Don't let him tag out!" Eli yelled as Lexi sent two more kicks and three more punches. With every move Lexi threw at him, she maneuvered around to detour him away from Kwon and back toward the center of the mat.
Her eyes barely moved to Eli, who Yoon was standing in front of. "What do you think I'm doing?!" She yelled as Yoon started to use some of his own power to run at Lexi.
Although Lexi was a little frightened from how fast Yoon was, she was glad he was finally using more fight in the round. He would get tired sooner.
His kicks caused Lexi to take a few steps back to put some space between them.
"Hey, hey, baby!"
Lexi looked back at the sound of Demetri's voice and saw him just a foot away from her. She took another step back and rested out to tag Demetri in.
He gently grabbed Lexi's shoulder, slapping his hand against hers before gently pushing her back.
Demetri ran toward Yoon, his jaw clenched as he aimed to kick him in the chest, but again, Yoon raised his arms, his forearms blocking the hit.
He switched from going high and going low, and Demetri was starting to see Yoon get tired out.
"Demetri!" Kenny yelled from Demetri's right.
Demetri ran toward Kenny, tagging him in, and bending down. Yoon didn't know what Kenny was doing when he threw his back against Demetri's and rolled over the boy so he froze. When Kenny came at him full force, Yoon's movements stuttered.
"We got him! He's out of gas!" Eli yelled just as Kenny's eyes moved to Julianna behind Yoon. He thought about earlier in the day, how Jules was the one to trust him in the other rounds.
She was his captain and she truly cared about winning this thing. Kenny could see it, Miyagi-Do could see it, all the other teams could see it.
So he ran toward her, shocking Julianna since Kenny could be the one that gets the team their point, but she prepped herself up away.
"He's all yours, cap." Kenny said as he tagged her in and immediately crouched to the floor. Jules was a little confused at first but when she saw Yoon running toward her, she decided to do the first thing she could think of.
She gave herself a running start, taking a few steps back before she ran forward. Julianna pressed her foot onto Kenny's back and pushed herself up. She jumped into the air and twisted into a flying tornado kick, finally getting a point on Yoon when she kicked him in the face.
"Point! Miyagi-Do, 2-1!" The referee yelled as Yoon and Jules both collapsed to the floor, Julianna not having time to catch her footing.
The two of them fell right in front of their own teammates on opposite ends of the circle and without missing a beat, Miguel bent down, tagging Jules out, while Kwon did the same with Yoon.
The two boys circled each other, Kwon smirking as he held his arms out. "Okay, let's go, number two." He taunted and Miguel's jaw clenched. He immediately got into his fighting stance, making Kwon let out a yell before he ran toward Miguel.
The two boys went back and forth. Miguel blocking Kwon's kicks, Kwon blocking Miguel's.
Miguel spun in hopes to do a flying tornado kick like Jules had, but Kwon knelt to the ground and kicked Miguel's legs out from under him.
Miguel caught himself on his knees, both of the boys on the floor now. Kwon started to throw as many punches as he could and when Miguel raised his hands to block them, Kwon grabbed Miguel's arm and twisted it. Miguel yelled in pain and having the opening, Kwon punched him in the stomach.
"Point! Cobra Kai, 2-2! Next point wins!"
Miguel fell back at the impact of the punch and before Kwon could come at him again and get Cobra Kai their last point, Miguel tagged Robby in.
Jules let out a nervous breath from the other end of the circle, her hands coming up to bite her nails. "Come on, Robby." She muttered to herself as Kwon ran at Robby.
He went to throw a kick, but Robby raised his own leg, blocking it. When he pushed Kwon back, the Cobra Kai boy chuckled. "It's about time. Let's see what you've got."
Robby ran at Kwon, sending a kick toward the boys head, but Kwon blocked it in the knick of time. On and on, Robby played offense, not even giving Kwon time to hit him with his own moves.
Robby kicked Kwon's head, the hit getting blocked by Kwon's hand. The force of the strike made Kwon stumble and he laughed, his confidence unshaken.
He moved to offense, aiming to kick Robby's face. Robby leaned back, barely dodging it, but Kwon kept attacking.
When Kwon tried to punch him, Robby grabbed his fist and twisted to the side, throwing Kwon onto his back. As Kwon rolled onto his stomach to get up, Robby quickly grabbed a fistful of his hair and pulled his head back until Kwon was upright, still on his knees.
Kwon yelled and from the edge of the circle, Julianna winced, suddenly finding it a little hard to breathe. This fight was getting hard to watch her in eyes, Kwon was getting angrier by the second and frankly, it was making Jules nervous.
Kwon knocked Robby's hand away and pushed forward, trying to shove Robby off. Instead, Robby grabbed Kwon's shoulders and flipped him over, sending him crashing onto his back again.
Robby got back on his feet, turning just in time to see Kwon already standing. They circled each other, Kwon's face red with anger before he charged, throwing a series of kicks, but Robby didn't block them—he stepped back, moving out of reach.
Robby backed up right into Tory's arms, and just as Kwon's kick was about to land, Tory pushed Robby out of the way.
Robby stumbled but he caught himself as fast as he could and sent a kick to Kwon's forearm, knocking him to the ground. Kwon slapped the floor in frustration, screaming, making Julianna flinch. He jumped back to his feet, his body trembling with anger.
Both fighters ran at each other, jumping into the air simultaneously, legs raised in hopes they kick the other in the face.
And Robby's kick struck first. Kwon hit the ground hard, and once Robby landed more graceful than Kwon had, it became so silent in the arena, you could hear a pin drop.
But then, the referee stepped forward, his hand raised and pointed toward Robby.
"Point! Miyagi-Do wins!"
Jules stood frozen for a moment, letting the weight of the moment settle in. They did it. Her team did it. "Oh my God." She whispered under her breath.
"With the win, Miyagi-Do advances to the tournament of champions!"
Jules took a small step toward the center as the rest of her team started to move from their spots around the circle to celebrate. Her eyes went to Robby first, the boy looking to her at the same time, grinning ear to ear.
Robby barely had time to take a step before she ran toward him. "We're going to the finals, Juli!" He cried out, meeting Jules halfway, crashing into her arms.
"We did it!" Jules yelped, her voice muffled as she buried her face in his shoulder. They swayed slightly in their hug, both of them in shock, yet still giggling over the win.
Robby was suddenly tugged away by Demetri, who shouted something before pulling him into a hug. Jules barely had time to process Robby's absence when Eli appeared in front of her, his excitement radiating like a firework. Without a word, he cupped her face and kissed her. Jules gasped against his lips, caught off guard but quickly melting into the moment.
As Eli lifted her off the ground, spinning her slightly, Jules couldn't help but laugh against his mouth. When he finally set her down, his hands stayed on her waist, steadying her as she caught her breath.
"You are gonna be on TV, Sunshine" Eli said, his voice soft and out of breath yet buzzing with excitement. His smile was the widest she'd seen in a long time, lighting up his entire face.
Jules giggled, still processing the win, and even though her heart stopped a little when he mentioned her being on TV, Julianna only felt excitement in that moment. "TV!" She repeated back, not knowing if she'd be able to say anything else.
Her hands held tightly onto Eli's in front of her before her eyes caught someone out of the corner of her eyes. Jules turned her head, and her smile fell as she watched Cobra Kai slowly walk by, frowns on all of their faces, but Jules only cared about Tory's.
Feeling eyes on her, Tory stopped walking with her team and looked up to see who was watching her. Her eyes widened just a bit when she saw Jules and Hawk standing in front of her.
Jules fought her mind on what to do and without thinking much on it, she walked toward Tory and wrapped her arms around her. She felt Tory tense in her arms, but Julianna knew deep down Tory needed this.
"I wish you could be celebrating with us." She murmured into Tory's shoulder and it was as if Julianna's words finally let Tory's wall fall, even if it was only for a few seconds.
Her arms wrapped around Julianna, hugging her back and squeezing as if to soak up the moment before she let go. The hug lasted for maybe three seconds, but Jules took what she could get.
Tory didn't look her or Eli in the eyes after that, turning her head and walking after Cobra Kai almost as if she was hypnotized.
Julianna's eyes stayed on Tory as she walked away and Eli frowned and how quickly her mood dropped. He remembered getting a call from Jules the morning after the sleepover Johnny planned with all the girls. Jules was so excited to have Tory back and she talked to Eli about it for over an hour and now, Jules lost her all over again.
He took a small step toward Jules and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, pulling her into his side, but her eyes still stayed on where Tory once was.
"She'll come around." Eli whispered into Julianna's hairline before kissing her forehead. Julianna's frowned deepened, hoping his words would come true sooner rather than later.
