Chapter 81.
"IT'S ALIENS, IT HAS TO BE." Ned said, as he was looking through the tabloids. It was already nighttime, and they were already back inside the hotel lobby.
"Buzzfeed said that it was exposed to an experimental underwater generator and got hydro powers," Flash announced.
"Bro, that site is lame," Starr muttered under her breath.
"Yeah, you should definitely believe everything you read on the Internet," MJ sarcastically replied to what Flash had said.
Flash suddenly scoffed, "Spider-Man could take him."
Briana rolled her eyes as she continued to scroll through her phone, every now and then, her mind wandering back to who that unknown hero was, when she suddenly got a text message from AJ.
AJ : Hey. Heard what happened. Everything okay?
Briana : Yeah, everything's fine, AJ.
AJ : Who was that guy? Any ideas?
Briana : None.
AJ : Well, watch out. I don't trust him. Whoever that is... he or she seems... sketchy.
Briana : Gotcha.
"No, no, no, no —" Peter, who was currently by the stairs, spoke through the phone. "We wanna stay, we wanna stay."
"It's a good thing that I packed your suit, huh?" Aunt May said on the other line, as she was currently inside her office. "I can't believe you forgot it."
"Yeah."
"So, who was that guy you were with? Was that Mr. Strange?"
"Dr. Strange, May," Peter corrected, sighing softly. "And uh, I don't know who that was. He was a new guy. I was trying to help him but —"
"May, tell Happy to quit it!"
"Hey, Happy, that's my lunch, don't eat that one!"
Peter's eyebrows furrowed, "Happy's there?"
There was a slight pause from the other line, before his aunt finally responded, "Yeah, it's Happy. He's here. He came by to volunteer, and he's hanging around in the office. Anyway, your sister and Happy wants to say hi."
"Hey, baby bro!"
"Big sis, I'm not a baby anymore," Peter grumbled out.
"H—hey, Peter. How are you and Briana?"
"Hey, Happy..." the teenager trailed off, quite unsure as to what was currently happening. "What are you doing...?"
"Don't worry, I'm really taking good care of your aunt. And your sister," the phone was then returned back to May, as she continued.
"So, how's the plan going?" Aunt May was fully aware of her nephew's plan.
"Just a few setbacks, for sure,"
"Don't overthink it, okay? I'm sure she'll love it. Just trust your instincts and you'll be fine."
"I know," he nodded. "Love you. Bye."
When the conversation ended, the rest of the group had their eyes glued on the television screen as they watched the news, with a clip of the man on screen once again.
"Who is that guy?" Flynn asked.
"He's like Iron Man and Thor rolled in one,"
Flash shrugged, unimpressed. "He's alright. He's no Spider-Man,"
"What is it with you and Spider-Man?" MJ questioned, a frustrated look on her face.
He turned to her, "What? He's just awesome, okay? He protects the neighborhood, and you know, he's inspiring. He inspires me to become a better man," his gaze then landed on Peter, who now stood beside the stairs where MJ was.
"Sup, dickwad?" He said out loud, earning a look from Peter and a annoyed look from Starr. "Thought you drowned,"
"Sounds like just mom is Mysterio," Flynn says.
"Uomo di Mistero is Italian for Man of Mystery," MJ explained. "They don't actually know who he is,"
Briana's phone then started ringing and she looked at it, answering when she saw who the contact was as she walked towards the back a bit.
"Hey, kid,"
Her eyes widen slightly in surprise, "Uncle Rhodey?"
"Hey, kid. Your mom's cooking for lunch at the moment, so she told me to dial you for a moment. Heard what happened, you alright?"
"I'm good, Uncle Rhodey, everything's fine," she assured her uncle.
"Uncle Rhodey! Is that Bri?"
"It is, you wanna say hi to your sister?"
There was a few muffle noises and then her little sister's voice could be heard on the other side of the call.
"Hi, sissy!"
"Hey, Morgan," Briana said, smiling.
After a few more seconds of talking to them and her mother, they ended the call, resulting to Briana heading back to her friends.

"So, you're telling me that during the Blip, you found out that you have the power of one of the infinity stones — uh, the Power stone inside of you? So, whenever you use it, your eyes start to turn purple?" Maya asked, recalling what her best friend explained, as the two were now in their room, getting ready to call it for the night.
"Basically, you remember Wanda, right?" Briana asked.
Maya nodded, "I do. She was one of my favorite Avengers, asides from—"
She was suddenly stopped mid-sentence, feeling something prickling at her neck, just when she collapsed onto the ground. Briana whirled around, completely stunned while looking at her unconscious friend.
"You're a very difficult person to contact, Iron Girl," a familiar voice says. Briana released a deep breath as she turned to the shadows where Nick Fury sat, holding a tranquilizer gun on his right hand — as he stared at the teenager.
"Seriously, Fury? Shooting Maya? That, and why are you in our room?" Briana asked, a look of annoyance on her face.
"It's a mild tranquilizer, she'll be alright," Fury told him. "We were both at your father's funeral, but that wasn't the right time to talk,"
"Talk about what, Fury? Make this quick," Briana said.
"I used to know everything, then I come back five years later and now, I know nothing. No intel, no team, and two high school kids are dodging my calls," Fury says.
Briana rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath, "All I want is to relax after what happened. Is that too much to ask for?"
Fury continued, "Here's what I do know," he placed a gadget on the table, as it showed a hologram of the world. "A week ago, a village in Mexico was wiped out by a cyclone. Some said that the cyclone had a face. Three days later, a similar event in Morocco, a village was —"
Fury was suddenly interrupted when a knock on the door was heard. They turned their heads, only to see Mr. Harrington.
"Just making rounds, just to see if anyone needed some emotional counseling after today's traumatic events,"
"No, we're okay," Briana immediately responds, terrified and begging that Nick Fury wouldn't fire. "We're fine, thank you,"
Once Mr. Harrington heard Maya's snores, he took it as a sign to leave. Briana then turned back to Fury, completely annoyed, "Can you put that gun away? That was just my teacher, just... ugh, continue on,"
"A village was destroyed about what may will be another world threatening—"
"Sis, you awake? Mom and dad want to know if you're okay," Molly Julien's voice interrupted Fury once again, as she was behind the door.
"Uh, Maya's asleep, Molly!"
"Oh, already?" She asked, as Peter hummed in response. "Okay,"
"That's why it's—" Fury attempted to speak again, but she was also interrupted again. He gave Briana annoyed yet sharp look, his eyebrows raised.
"Another person touches that door, you and I are going to attend another funeral."
*
They entered a secret passage, with Peter and Briana following behind Fury. "Remove the mask," he instructed, "Everyone here has seen you without it."
Peter did so, as he continued to follow the man from behind.
"There we have Maria Hill, that is Dimitri," he introduced, as the two teens looked at them one by one. "And that... is Mister Beck,"
They stopped in their tracks, watching as the mystery man from earlier turn around as he stood there right in front of them, their eyebrows furrowed slightly.
"Mysterio?"
