Chapter 70. (ENDGAME)

A BROKEN AND LIGHTLESS MASK sits on a cold metal ground.

An older and wearier hand reaches through the blue misty light to gently tap the old object.

"This thing on?"

The withering Iron Man mask slowly comes to life, and a light shines upon Tony Stark.

"Hey, Ms Potts.... Peps,"

The arc reactor in his chest is fading and his eyes hang heavy.

"If you find this recording..." the man sucks in a hard breath. "Don't post it on social media. It's gonna be a real tear-jerker.

I don't know if you're gonna see these. I don't even know if you're still..." he can't finish the thought. "Oh, god, I hope so..."

"Today is day 21... uh, 22. You know, if it wasn't for the existential terror of staring into the literal void of space, I'd say, I'm feeling a bit better today. The infection's run its course, thanks to the blue meanie back there. You'd love her. Very practical. Only a tiny bit sadistic."

"Some fuel cells were cracked during battle, but we figured out a way to reverse the ion charge to buy ourselves about..." Tony's brow crinkles in thought. "Forty-eight hours of playtime. But it's now dead in the water... we're 1,000 lightyears from the nearest 7-11 Oxygen will run out tomorrow morning."

As he stares off into the light, Tony's voice wavers, "That'll be it,"

He's not Iron Man.

He's not a mechanic.

He's not even a father anymore.

He failed.

"And, Pep, I... I know I said 'no more surprises', but I gotta say, I was really hoping to pull off one last one. But it looks like... well, you know what it looks like. Don't feel bad about this. I mean, actually it'd be good if you grovel for a couple weeks, and then, move on with enormous guilt,"

He feels the guilt and he knows why. He couldn't save Peter or Briana. He couldn't protect them both. He couldn't look out for them. Right now, all he has left is Catherine, who lost her brother and the girl she saw as a sister.

"I should probably lie down. I'm gonna rest my eyes..." the man whispers his final goodbye. "Please know that every night when you go to sleep, that I'm okay, that I'm totally fine. And when I drift off, like everything lately... I'll think about you and our little girl. Because it's always you,"

And he turns the mask off for the last time.

With a soft groan, he painfully tries to get into a comfortable position. Once he was settled, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. Nebula then comes and takes care of Tony the best she can. She wraps him as best as she can in his hoodie, positioning him more comfortable in the front of the ship. Then she lets him rest and goes to check on Catherine.

It feels as if all hope has been lost.

It looks like help will not come in time.

But then, a bright light hovering at the front of the ship forces Tony into consciousness, eyes squinting and hand raised in tired confusion. But his hand slowly lowers and his reddened eyes slowly widen. Because, among the stars, among the bright shining light, hovers a woman, a captain, with a simple smirk.

SOUL REALM

BRIANA STARK'S EYES FLUTTERED OPEN as she looked around the place. It was dark and quiet, like there was no hope left in the world, which was actually true. Everything seemed lost. Everyone who was dusted was now stuck in the soul realm. Briana looked around and saw the hopeless looks, she saw a few people that she recognized and looked over to see a familiar boy meeting her glance.

Her eyes filling with tears of somewhat relief of getting the chance to see him again, she sprints over to him and throws her arms around him for a hug. She feels his arms wrap around tightly her, both of them knowing exactly what happened and how they lost.

As both Briana Stark and Peter Parker embraced each other, the sound of a throat being cleared interrupted them. They both pulled apart and looked to see some dude with a red skull as his face.

"Umm, yes?" Both teens asked in confusion as to who this was.

The red skull, or now known as the Keeper glances at the two teens, his eyes landing on the Stark girl longer. He felt something... different about her. No, it wasn't the arc reactor in her chest that kept the metal away from her heart. He felt... power from her, it was like the stones were part of her. Then again... she was able to move the energy as a way to defend her father back on the planet against the mad titan.

"You can still fix your mistake," the Keeper said.

"How? We're dead." Peter told the red skull, not wanting to be reminded of the fact that they lost the battle.

The Keeper gestures to Briana Stark, "Her,"

"Me? Again, we're dead. What good am I?" She asked.

"The stone knew of Thanos' plan. So before all of this started, a great and strong power came into a girl on the day of her birth," the Keeper explains.

Briana and Peter took a minute to realize what he was trying to said but then Briana's eyes widen in shock, "Wait... are you saying what I think you are?" She asked.

The Keeper nodded, "You are a infinity stone. At least, you have the power of one,"

Briana felt her mind returned to when she shoot that large blast of power in order to defend her father from Thanos. It explains why she was so tired from using that much power. She was the key to winning the battle.

"The battle with Thanos isn't over yet, but..." The Keeper says.

"But what?" Peter asks.

"...There will be a sacrifice from someone,"

Avengers belongs to Marvel

Briana belongs to me

Here's the first chapter of the Endgame saga! Okay, so I know, that we don't exactly know where the people that were dusted went to, but I decided to make it the soul realm. And as for my character sorta being a Infinity Stone or having the power of one, that becomes like a AU of the Infinity Stones for the purpose of the story.

Hope you guys enjoy!
