Chapter 32. (AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON)
Briana Stark
"Language!" I dodge more bombs sent around in my direction while Steve's voice rings in my ears. "The central building is protected by some kind of energy shield," Jarvis says.
"Strucker's technology is well beyond any other HYDRA base we've taken," C.A.S.S adds.
"Loki's scepter must be here," I hear Thor respond as his hammer smashes into soldiers' bodies, "Strucker couldn't mount this defense without it. At long last,"
Natasha yells back, "At long last is lasting a little long,"
More gunfire echoes across the line before Clint calls to us all, "Yeah. Think we lost the element of surprise,"
No duh.
"Wait a second," dad says, "No one else is gonna deal with the fact that Cap just said 'language'?"
"I know," Steve says then something whirls through the air, "Just slipped out,"
I continue to dodge bullets and shoot some blasts of my own back.
"Sir," Jarvis's voice reaches my ear. "The City is taking fire,"
"Well," dad answers back. "We know Strucker's not gonna worry about civilian casualties. Jarvis! Send in my boys,"
I shoot at oncoming soldiers when Steve says, "We have an Enhanced in the field,"
"Clint's hit!" Natasha's panicked and yet somehow still irritated voice that I hear next says, "Somebody want to deal with that bunker?" I hear a loud roar and then Natasha says in a little, sweet voice, "Thank you,"
I land hard on a patch of snow-covered concrete. My feet slide across the ground as my hands raise and beams of light shoot the oncoming battalion. Men yell and are blasted away, disappearing over the ledge. I then launch back into the air.
"There's a particle wave below the North Tower,"
"Great, I want to poke it with something," dad launches a missile into the side of the hill.
The shimmering blue shield shudders down, leaving the base defenseless.
Thor's voice says, "You, AJ, Stark, and Briana secure the scepter,"
"Copy that," Steve answers.
"Looks like they're lining up," Thor says, referring to something on their side of the battle.
"Well, they're excited,"
"Find the scepter,"
"And for gosh's sake, watch your language!" Dad says.
I snort and I hear AJ giggle a bit through the comms while Steve sighs, "That's not going away anytime soon,"
I crash through a pane of hazy glass. The soldiers inside begins yelling and shouting, firing their machine guns in a crazed panic. My suit takes every shot, clinging as the bullets make contact.
"Guys, stop, we gotta talk about this," I said.
Small missiles blast from my suit, taking each and every one of them. The group of nearly twenty men all crumpet to the ground, rolling and groaning in pain.
Still hovering above them, I looked around and said, "Good talk,"
"No, it wasn't," I hear a little voice moan out.
I drop to the ground and my metal boots clink as I walked down into the heart of the mansion. Then dad comes into the room and lands on the ground, both of our suits open up and we stepped out. Dad moves to the computers and plugs a device into the side of the extension, making a blue hologram rise up.
"Okay, Jarvis, you know," dad says. "I want it all. Make sure you copy Hill at HQ,"
"I know you're hiding more than files," dad says, pulling away from the computer and looking around. "Hey, J, give us an IR scan of the room, real quick,"
Jarvis's bright red light scans the area before he informs us, "The wall to your left. I'm reading steel reinforcement, and an air current,"
Dad looks the wall up and down, "Please be a secret door, please be a secret door, please be a secret door," he rests his hands on it and gives it a push, making it jolt back and open.
We both quietly chime out, "Yay!"
Dad quickly steps into the blackness of the secret door and I follow. He moves in smoothly, sliding his hand along the wall as he does.
"We have a second enhanced. Female. Do not engage," Steve tells everyone as dad and I continue side-by-side.
"Guys, I got Strucker," he adds in a few moments later.
A strange blue lit room stretches out before we step past the threshold. "Yeah, I got," dad pauses, looking up at the metal beast above us, "something bigger,"
A massive room stretches out before us as blue fog hovers around, climbing up towards the ceiling that practically seems like it's not there. Metal chains and locks stretch along the walls, the Chitauri leviathan hangs up there. Other broken technology whether made by the Chitauri or HYDRA, lies around, still glowing with life.
We turn around and see the scepter right there, boots of some kind of energy flicker off of the curved, twisted scepter as it sits on a black table. Strange bands of energy circle around it, guarding it from anyone who goes to touch it.
"Thor," dad speaks. "We got eyes on the prize,"
A slight screeching noise echoes through the suddenly cold air, moving like knives against ice as I look to face the red irises of another girl who looks suddenly shocked to be noticed by me. I open my mouth to shout a warning, but there's this sudden red absorbing my sight as the girl's fingers curl and bend.
That's when everything changed.
That's when I saw him.
The sky is completely black expect for the few stars that shine in the distance. Their light feels cold and white and empty. I don't where I am, no one does. My heart is beating hard in my chest as the panic continues to rise.
"Humans," a voice spits out, "They are not the cowering wretches we were promised! They stand. They are unruly and, cannot be ruled!"
I looked and that's when I saw him. A alien with purple skin, glowing blue eyes; he's like a giant purple grape, that's what I'm calling him.
Purple grape.
I felt my breathe get caught in my throat.
"To challenge them is to court death,"
The purple grape then meets my gaze, his glowing blue eyes meet with my brown eyes. I tried to show that I'm not scared, but my legs start to shake with the fear I have. A small, malicious smile forms on his torn, cracked lips. He stands up from his throne and makes his way over to me. I start to back up but the purple grape looks down at me with his cold blue eyes and puts a hand on my shoulder.
I took in a sharp breathe and held it, the fear and panic rises in my chest as the purple grape stares down at me.
"When I come, nothing will be left, not even you," the purple grape tells me.
Then the snap. Everything got blurry, the world started spinning around. I felt sick, I felt like throwing up. I try to walk away, to run, but my legs are so wobbly and shaking with fear that they don't even move a muscle. I look down at my hands and saw them disappearing, turning to dust. I looked back up at him.
"I only hope that they remember you, Stark," he says.
Then everything went black and dark.
I gasped as I snapped back to reality. I felt tiny droplets of sweat running down my forehead. I struggle to breathe out, dad looks at the scepter with a faraway look.
What...what was that? Who was that?
Dad doesn't take his gaze off of the scepter before he suddenly thrusts a hand out and steps around the dark desk where it still sits. A metal glove suddenly envelops his arm before he moves swiftly towards the scepter. His hand swipes across the blue barrier and then the scepter is in his hand. Dad simply cocks his head to the side as his eyes study it.
But my mind still can't get off what I just saw.
Who was he?
And was he actually coming?
Avengers belongs to Marvel
Briana belongs to me
AJ belongs to richnbad0627
