"In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much scratch that glass," Nick Fury presses a button and suddenly the ground is gone from underneath the round cell. "Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?" The ground closes underneath the cell and Fury points to Loki, "Ant," then he points at the button. "Boot,"

Loki only smirks, "It's an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me,"

Fury answers, "Built for something a lot stronger than you,"

"Oh, I've heard." Loki slowly turns to look into the camera as if he's staring straight at us.

Bruce Banner. They built a cage for Bruce Banner, a human. Last time I checked, Banner was a human, not a animal or criminal.

"The mindless beast makes play he's still a man," Loki mocks. "How desperate are you that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?"

"How desperate am I!? You threaten my world with war," Fury says. "You steal a force that you can't hope to control. You talk about peace and you kill cause it's fun. You have make me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did,"

"Oh," Loki squints a little before titling his head forward to mock Fury. "It burns you to come so close,"

"To have the Tesseract, to have power," Loki leans his head back as he steps backwards, "Unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is."

Fury smirks and begins to leave the room, "Well, you let me know if real power wants a magazine or something."

Bruce suddenly speaks with irritability, "He really grows on you, doesn't he?"

"Loki's gonna drag this out," Steve speaks up. "So, Thor, what's his play?"

Thor turns to face everyone, "He has an army called the Chitauri. They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract."

"An army?" Steve ask. "From outer space?"

"So he's building another portal. That's what he needs Erik Selvig for," Bruce says.

"Selvig?" Thor looks confused.

Bruce quickly explains, "He's an astrophysicist."

"He's a friend," Thor responds, a look of concern on his face.

"Loki has him under some kind of spell," Natasha says before quietly adding, "Along with one of ours."

"I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here," Steve says.

"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him," Bruce insults the man as he shakes his head.

"Have care how you speak," Thor replies. "Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother."

With a deadpanned expression, Natasha responds flatly, "He killed eighty people in two days."

Thor seems to contemplate this before deflating slightly and saying, "He's adopted."

I gazed out of the rest of the conversation. Something just doesn't feel right. Loki has to be planning something. Why else would he give himself up so easily?

"AJ, right?" I ask.

She nodded, "Yeah. It's Briana, right?"

I nodded. "Yeah, that's me."

It was quiet between the two of us for a while now.

"So..." I said softly, breaking the silence. "Your dad knew my grandfather?"

"Howard Stark? Yeah." AJ said.

I nodded, "I don't remember much of my grandparents. They died in a car crash when I was really little. All I really know is that my dad never got along with my grandfather,"

"I heard about what happened to them. Sorry about it," AJ said.

"It's okay,"

Another silence. Oh god, how do you start a conversation with someone who everyone thought was, well you know, dead?

"Did it hurt?"

I looked at her, confused. "What do you mean?"

She points to the arc reactor glowing behind my purple shirt. "That,"

I gazed down to my shirt to stare at the arc reactor. "Oh, well, I'm not sure. I was unconscious when I got it in me. And now.....I can't live without it,"

Mika, her dead body, her last words, the soldiers dying. All of it. Everything goes flying back through my head. Living with this in my chest.....it's a terrible privilege.

"What about you? Does anything hurt?" I ask.

"Well....Before the whole getting frozen in ice and waking up, I did had a normal life with my dad, my mom, and my sister." She began.

Wait. Sister? Steve Rogers had another daughter?

"Sister?" I ask. "No offense, but I thought that Steve Rogers had one daughter,"

"None taken," she said. "My sister was adopted. I'm the only biological daughter of my dad and mom,"

I nodded.

"Growing up, you can say that I always admired my dad and wanted to be a hero like him. But one day, HYDRA somehow found out about me and my sister. So while my dad was out on a mission with my Uncle Bucky, HYDRA captured me and my sister. They killed my sister and froze me in ice; in a way, they were using me and my sister as bait. But HYDRA also used me for.....experiments." She said. "When I was removed the ice, I was back with my father but my sister was dead."

"Sorry about what happened to you," I said. "Who was Bucky?"

"Oh, Bucky was my dad's best friend. He was like a uncle to me and my sister," AJ explained.

I nodded.

"How do you do it?" AJ ask.

"Do what?" I ask.

"Staying brave when you're trying not to show that you're scared."

"It's not easy," I said. "But being a hero may be scary sometimes, and yes, there has been times where I would sometimes question what I'm doing and sometimes think about it stopping. But I made a promise to a good friend of mine to help others keep their lives, and I've been trying to work on that promise and do my best to keep it. You'll find what you're meant to do too, I just know it."

AJ smiled. "Something tells me we're gonna get along just great,"

I smiled. "Me too, I get the feeling that we're gonna be best friends. But anyways, what about you? Met any boys that you like since you woke up?"

AJ blushed lightly, "Well...there is this one guy,"

I smirked. "Oooh! Spill the details."

She giggled and smiled, "Okay. His names Nate and we met when......"
