Dad Day

"Oh. Alright. Thanks May" Tony said, sighing as he turned the phone off. He should have known Peter would be busy with the Decathlon team.

He looked down at the photo of him and Pete on his desk, smiling a bit. Shaking off a bit of his sadness, he walked out of the room towards the kitchen. He had like 3 other children, maybe.

"Harley... Peter... Nebula..." he mumbled, counting off the names on his finger. "Oh. Just three then. Unless you count Clint because that man needs a babysitter, god"

He walked into the kitchen where he found Peter Quill stuffing food into all the little pockets in his jacket. In his mouth was a half eaten sandwich.

It took Quill a few moments to notice the man standing next to the fridge but when he did, he screamed, and the sandwich fell out of his mouth.

"Whatcha doing, Quill?" He asked, incredibly calm for the circumstances. The other man stared for a moment, before answering.

"Getting.... getting snacks" he said, slowly inching himself away from the billionaire and towards the exit. Tony raised an eyebrow. "So we don't get hungry"

"Why would you be going hungry?" He asked, casually picking up an apple that had rolled away from Peter and taking a bite from it.

"There's not a lot of food in the middle of space man, and we all need food. I think. Actually I'm not sure Nebula actually needs food to survive, now that I think about it"

"You guys are leaving?" He asked, making extremely sure that his voice stayed steady and ok.

"Yeah, Rocket found some man hunt in a star system a few hundred light years away and decided that we could use the cash" Tony didn't tell him he was literally a billionaire and could pay for whatever.

"Well then, Quill, see ya!" He said faking a happy tone, pushing the man out the door, a few of the snacks piled in his arms flying out backwards. A package of baby carrots hit Tony in the face.

Once Peter was definitely gone, Tony sighed, running his hand down his face. In his head, he crossed Nebula off the checklist. Just one kid left then.

"Would Harley be able to make it here?" Tony asked himself quietly. He mulled it over in his mind. "Yeah, I've got private jets. I'm sure Harley has his own Iron Man suit he stole from me. He'll be here"

Calling the teen, he smiled when the boy picked up. "Hey Harls"

"What, old man?"

"Ouch. That's kind of harsh"

"Tony do you KNOW what time it is here?" Tony rolled his eyes.

"Harley we're only like an hour ahead of you"

"Well I was sleeping"

"Harley it's 4 pm" Tony grumbled, slightly worried for his kid.

"Your point? You woke me up from my nap. What a terrible parental figure" Harley said. Tony laughed and rolled his eyes.

"You doing anything today?" He asked and immediately cringed, realizing he sounded like a teenage girl twirling her finger around the phone cord.

"Cut to the chase old man, I've got stuff to do"

"You were literally sleeping Harley"

"What do you want, Tony?"

"You wanna come up to New York for the week? It's-"

"Are you suggesting I skip school for a week? Tony how COULD YOU?"

"Of course not, it was j- wait aren't you on summer break?"

Harley hung up. Tony sighed, giving up, and started walking to his lab.

"This is why I never try to plan anything for holidays" he muttered to himself, fully prepared to spend the next few days drowning himself in work.

"Where do you think you're going, looking all mopey like that?" Stephen asked from behind him, startling Tony to no end.

"Jesus H CHRIST" he yelled. "God. We need to put a bell on you" he said, his heart thumping in his chest. "You have to stop portaling everywhere and scaring the living shit out of me"

"I came to this floor on the elevator. You were just too sad to notice me" Stephen said, smirking a bit. Tony huffed, before the cloak wrapped itself around him.

"Stephanieeeeeeeeee... whyyyyyyyyyy?" He groaned, struggling to free himself from the fabric. The man only smiled, before pressing a gentle kiss to his fiancé's forehead.

"We've somewhere to be" Was all he said, as he walked and Tony floated along. The mechanic only mockingly repeated him, just wishing he could mope by himself.

"Happy Father's Day, by the way, even though you're not my dad. That'd be weird" Tony mumbled, smiling a bit at his fiancé. The other man grinned down at him, pressing a small kiss to his cheek.

"In here" Stephen finally said as the cloak dropped him, motioning to a door in front of him. "I've prepared a surprise for you," he said, smiling as Tony opened the door.

"SURPRISE!!!" He gasped at the display in front of him. All gathered together was Pepper, Rhodey, Happy, Stephen, Nebula, Harley, and Peter. They were smiling and all wearing birthday hats, and Peter was blowing on a noise maker. "HAPPY FATHERS DAY"

"Wha-" Tony gasped, looking at all his family. "I thought you were all busy?"

"Yeah Tony. We lied to you. It's a surprise party" Harley deadpanned, while smiling. The billionaire snorted, and looked around.

"You didn't have to do this guys. It's just Father's Day" he said, smiling a bit to show that he was still thankful for his kids and friends.

"It's Father's Day, Tony, and as much as you try to say otherwise, you're VERY clearly our dad" Harley said, smirking as Peter nodded behind him.

"Besides, you were in a coma on your birthday so we needed to celebrate you" Nebula added, not reading the room very well as it was a terrible time to bring up the whole coma thing.

"Thanks guys" Tony said again, ignoring Nebula, instead giving each of his children a hug. "It means a lot" he said, smiling.

"Aww you're welcome Mr. Stark, thanks for being our father figure, you know?" He said enjoying the hug. "And happy Father's Day to you too, Mr. Dr. Dad!" Peter said, and Stephen smiled gently.

"I love you rowdy kids" Tony mumbled into Peters shirt.

"Love you too"

Originally this was going to be a birthday chapter but then I was like "oh shit it's Father's Day... and my book is about... father figure Tony Stark..." so yeah.

Happy Father's Day!
