Chapter One
"HEY PARKER!" I called out to the boy standing a few lockers down from me. He turned in my direction, as a smile grew on his face.
"Hey Rushman," he said as he walked over to me. "You headed home now?" he asked, gesturing to the crowd of students that were moving toward the doors of the school to get ready for the weekend.
"Where else would I go? You know me, I never go anywhere on the weekends!" I said as I put all the books I needed for the weekend in my backpack, which was designed by my dad in case anyone figured out my real name, and tried to shoot, stab, etc. in my back.
"I forgot that you never did anything on the weekends." he chuckled.
"You don't have much room to talk, Peter. You don't go anywhere. The only place you go is to Tony Stark's tower for that internship you landed. Still don't know how you were able to do that by the way." I laughed as we headed for the main doors of the school.
"Trust me, sometimes I don't believe that I have this internship. It's like a dream come true! It's so weird to think that I can see Mr. Stark on a random basis when he needs me for something." I smiled at him, he spoke so highly of dad. Maybe one day they would run Stark industries side by side.
I turned to look at him. I've known him since the seventh grade which was when my father was certain I was good to go to regular school. Of course, they explained to me that I would have to use a completely different name to squash any suspicions about any family relation. If it meant that I wasn't going to cooped up in the same building day after day, and night after night, I would change my name and my entire appearance!
I looked away as I realized that I was staring at Peter because I was lost in my thoughts about the year that we met. The rest of the walk out of school didn't contain much talking, we were tired after a long week of school, and our own lives at home and work. I bid him goodbye, and walked to the car that sat waiting for me. I stepped inside, and looked out the window at the school to see Peter still standing there. I waved, he waved back, and then the car drove off. Leaving the boy behind to start his trek home.
"Alright, Happy, what do we have ourselves tonight?"
"I'll let your dad brief you on that when we get to the tower.
