Transfer (02)

There are many types of people in this world, with varying flaws and virtues. Unfortunately, it seems some people are a bit more flawed than others. That seemed to be the unanimous, silent, consensus of the Vocals and Dance department regarding Yunhee's introduction.

Some of the more hopeful students tried to push past that, maybe it was just a cultural or language barrier from being abroad for so long?

"Yunhee, you lived in Europe for a while, right? Which country was it? England, Germany, France?" A girl presses, as a few more students begin to crowd her new, non-stolen, desk. Notably, quite a few kept their distance from her neighbor, despite his supposed growing fame as a rapper.

"Well it was Europe."

"Yeah, but where?"

"Europe?"

"Which country in Europe?" Some in the crowd begin to shift uncomfortably, unsure whether there was a point sticking around.

"..."

The girl is stalwart, despite Yunhee's silence. It's possible she refuses to throw away a rare chance to talk to a foreigner, and no amount of... Well whatever the case, she won't let Yunhee leave without answering.

"Maybe it was America?"

A lesson: America is not in Europe.

"Really? Ah, I've always wanted to go to America!" She yells.

Yunhee smiles, well a smile is a bit too kind, really she looks rather smug, mouth open just enough to let out a simple 'heh'.

A startling portion of the huddle fails to notice the flawed answer or Yunhee's laugh, instead too excited over their "friend's" origins. Of course a few want to speak up, but wouldn't that just ruin the mood?

Certainly at least one brat-shades-doesn't care about such pleasantries, and has to call it out: "That's an even broader answer moron! They already know you're from Europe, you don't answer Korea if they want to know where in Seoul you're from!"

A lesson: Europe is not in America. This, at least, seems to be known by the crowd, as soon enough they're silently exchanging glances. Though, they'll clearly remain silent, as no one bothers to look at Shades, and even a few utter quick affirmations or nods as a means of defense.

Yunhee has no such intentions however, "Ah, so top of the class isn't a highly coveted position then."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Shades is quick to respond but obviously not quick to catch on.

"You're an idiot."

Shades' face grows red as he pushes himself closer to the desk, almost knocking Yunhee's neighbor out of his seat. The girl lagging behind Shades-a blondie- is also quite red in the face, but that may be from holding in laughter. "Wanna repeat that four eyes?"

"Ah yeah, that was rude. You're all idiots." And with that, the huddle dissipates, making sure Shades had a clear path and won't mistakenly hit a bystander. Blondie also seems to lose her composure, as she keels over from laughter.

"Can it Mary! This airhead insulted you too!"

"But she's not even wrong, Vin! You said Europe was in America so confidently!"

'Vin' turns away from Mary in a huff, and slams a hand onto Yunhee's desk. "Going around pissing me off after messing with my desk, do you have anything to say about that?"

Yunhee pauses, probably rummaging through her memories for whatever desk Vin was pissed about. Soon enough, she sits at attention. "Ah, yeah the desk. You're welcome."

Oh, Mary's crying now.

Vin's hands reach to grab the front legs of Yunhee's desk, but the neighbor shoots up from his desk and pushes in between Vin and the desk, extending his rather short arms, almost as a barrier for Yunhee.

"You can't just beat her up because you're angry, Vin!" The short, stocky boy really is trying to be a shield. Sadly, that passion won't do him much good it seems. Yunhee might be in awe by his kindness as she seems to be staring at him, but that's short lived as she begins scrolling through her phone.

"Oh Duke, volunteering as today's punching bag?" Vin steps back, preparing a fist.

"Yunhee, you should stay behind me okay?" 'Duke' is trembling, but refuses to budge nonetheless.

"Unfortunately you're not at the top of the list, fatty, so wait your turn!" Quickly darting around the desk, his aim is dead set on Yunhee. She's faster though.

Shooting up from her desk with her bag, Yunhee steps back, the fist whizzing past her, she clearly was prepared-

"Why the hell are you looking at your phone four-eyes?!"

"Ah, forgot to eat, see ya." She raises her arm in an unenthusiastic salute and walks out of the room, never once noting the fight she was technically a part of.

The entire class is left silent, many with their mouths agape. She got away from Vin after starting a fight, that should be cool on its own, but somehow she turned a reckless and cool act into confusion and left most of the class mildly disappointed. Some seemed to have hoped for retribution against her insult.

The only one who seemed more disappointing and pathetic would be Vin, as he started a fight with an airhead and couldn't even land a hit after talking oh so big.

"Damn it! This is all pissin me off!"

Duke tenses, he seems to know what's coming next.

"Just get out of my way will you!" Or not, as Vin pushes to the doorway, dragging Mary from her fetal position on the ground.

"Ow, ow, Vin! It hurts to move right now, my sides are killing me!"

"Shut it."

"'You're welcome!' And then you just miss!"

"Shut it!" And just like that, the room was at peace again. Not a single hit was landed, but still the transfer student certainly left an impact in her three hours at school. Though, one would hardly call it positive, since most students were dreading her return for the next class.

"Not even a day and she's starting fights", "Insulting people that are trying to be friendly? Grow up", "She practically ignored everyone until the teacher called her out" and on and on it went. Usually it would take longer to commit social suicide, but Yunhee managed to set a new record. Among the gossip no one even bothered to whisper, Duke remained quiet. She may have been a bit- or honestly extremely- rude, but she did only just transfer from another continent, so she may just not be adjusting well enough. Regardless, Duke knew better than anyone what being alone and mocked openly by classmates is like, and the only reason he escaped it was because of Daniel giving him a chance to prove himself.

Duke can't just leave her be anyway, either the class will eat her alive or Vin will bash her face in. Determined to at least try, he collects his belongings and begins searching the grounds for Yunhee.
