Hi! I'm Claire, I'll be your interviewer today. How are you doing?

Hey, I'm Hades. I'm pretty good! I've been super excited about this interview so I'm glad to sit down and do it.

That's good to know, it'll be also a pleasure too to interview you as you'll be my first client. I also noticed that you have 5 works in your profile, which is good.

Let's focus on your writing world; What inspired you to write your stories and what motivated you to complete them?

Well, from a young age, I've been writing. I've always been inspired by the stories around me, often times inserting myself into the story and acting it out. It's fun to be able to add something that hasn't been done before - or something that I think is compelling.

The motivation for my stories came from the comments and reactions of the readers. When I first started writing on Wattpad, I received high praise for my writing style and my ideas, which motivated me to continue writing.

Getting praise from readers was really a breath of fresh air since previously the feedback I had received from friends was less than kind.

That's great! Out of all the characters you have created, who is your favorite and worst character and why?

A character I've created that's my favorite would have to be one that hasn't appeared on Wattpad before, but they might later. Her name is Kodi and she was inspired by the film Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, but since then she has drifted far from that concept. She has a unique ability that makes her carefree and unkillable by unnatural means, giving her a brutal and fun style. She's a mess, but she's amazing for that. Though I could've answered this with a character from my upcoming Wattpad story Always Saving Me, I want to keep that under wraps until it releases!

My least favorite character might be a character called Jayden from my story Professor Romanoff's Angel, while he was inspired by a real person, I didn't take time to make him human. Rather than making him a human with faults and desires and other things, I made him a punching bag for the reader's hate. I think if I could rewrite him, I could make his involvement in the story much more compelling.

That's interesting, maybe I can try to read some of your works to know more of the characters you mentioned.

What are your favorite genres to write and read and why?

Genre has always been difficult for me to figure out. When it comes to writing, I honestly never know what genre I'm actually writing in, though I've found I'm surprisingly good at writing sweet romance. I wasn't expecting it considering I don't read romance very much, nor do I watch romance films.

Reading is a different story, as I just mentioned. I think my favourite genre when it comes to reading would be fantasy, I really enjoy mystical storylines with magic and magnificent landscapes and other fantasy things like that. I love a good action story too.

That's great to know! Are there any deleted or changed chapters from a completed book that you could share?

There were a lot of changes to Professor Romanoff's Angel, and other stories too.

For my short story book, Romanoff's Red Room, there's an entire short story of 1300 words that I didn't post at all. It's nothing special though, it had no real story which is why I didn't post it!

I honestly can't remember the deleted content from Professor Romanoff's Angel - apart from maybe the vows. Originally, their vows were completely different, made up of things they had said to each other in the past. But it was unnatural and seemed too forceful so I cut it.

On the wedding chapter, it was also originally interrupted by Wanda, though that was changed too - it felt like drama for no reason and ruined the flow of the chapter, added word count, and accidentally forgot it.

I see, it's great that you could change some parts that weren't pleasing enough because some of its parts might look ugly too if the readers might notice it.

Out of all the books you have written, which one is your favorite?

Professor Romanoff's Angel is for sure my favourite, though my work-in-progress might overtake it once it's published. It was my first completed story and it ended up being the length of two average novels. Being able to complete that made me more confident in writing other novels! It was a real confidence booster and a learning experience too.

That's amazing! Did you ever expect your work, Professor Romanoff's Angel, to ever get to almost 325k reads and so be reaching for 12k votes?

I definitely didn't expect the large number of people that would read and support it. Even now, getting notifications for comments or votes on the earlier chapters warms my heart a little.

It means so much to me that people enjoy my writing, which is why I try my best to interact with any readers that leave a comment or two, just to show my appreciation for them.

That's what every author can explain though if someone voted, commented, and supported their work, I wanted to give you huge congratulations for that impressive amount of reads and votes for your work as well.

If you wrote an alternate ending for your completed book, Professor Romanoff's Angel, what would happen?

That's an interesting question, honestly. I had the ending decided from an early place in the story so I never considered other options.

Though, if Wanda interrupted the wedding as originally planned, maybe they wouldn't have gone through with the marriage and the ending would've been much more somber, with both of them alone.

That's quite impressive, it'll be more like an interesting plot twist as well.

Have you already placed Professor Romanoff's Angel or some of your works in any contests or review shops? If so, what place did you earn or what did you learn from the review?

I haven't actually, though maybe I will in the future! I've had beta readers on my work-in-progress though, and most of the advice from them could be applied to Professor Romanoff's Angel too.

I have definitely realised that I use 'said' too much, which I need to work on. And for some reason, I tend to add the word 'over' in places it shouldn't be. For example: "I closed the door over."

I've definitely been keeping this in mind with my new works.

That's nice to know!

Tell me about your writing journey and how it has progressed.

I've definitely come a long way. My first ever work was a nonsensical story about medieval England, assassins and for some reason, the protagonist was a paper boy with no real relation to the story.

I've improved severely from writing continuously, listening to feedback and taking inspiration from other works. Now I know how to develop characters and storylines, which I'd say is a large improvement.

It's good that you could develop more in your writing journey. I'm looking forward to seeing the best of you.

What's the mood of your writing space and how do you do your research?

I normally make a playlist for my characters and stories. Music has a large impact on my mood so it helps a lot. I also have an LED light which I change with the scene, if I'm writing a sad scene, I'll make it blue to immerse me in the moody atmosphere.

Research for me comes from reading articles and taking notes in my mess of a notebook. I also talk to people. Talking to people similar to my characters definitely gives me more insight. I remember when I reached out to a friend who is an Ex SWAT member to give me more insight into a project, which made the story much more realistic.

Normally I'll create a separate document with notes from my research to pull from while I write.

Creating playlists for stories and characters would help a lot in writing as I also like to do playlists for my works, I might do the same too someday whenever I'm writing.

Did you ever feel like giving up writing?

I have considered it. I've had a few experiences that are extremely demotivating. Nothing feels worse than a friend telling you that there's nothing good about your writing, or having to delete all your work for the day because of an error or just out of frustration.

But I have a lot of supportive people, my writing got me into college, which means it's worth something. It's hard some days still, but my work makes me and other people happy and that thought normally brings me back.

That's great to know. What are your hobbies or interests outside of writing?

I love drawing, though I don't do it very often anymore. I love working out too, I'm not sure if that's a hobby but it can't harm to mention it. I play video games a lot, usually creative ones, and I enjoy voice acting too. Though, in recent years, writing has become my main focus.

That's impressive! I'm pleased that you can do your hobbies well.

Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

Advice isn't my strong suit but considering I've been doing this for years, I'll give it my best shot.

Your writing might not start off amazing, and that's okay. Writing doesn't need to be perfect, I've learned that the hard way. Writing is supposed to be fun and fulfilling. Write what you would want to read, there will be others who enjoy the same, even if you don't find it right away.

Though, that doesn't mean you should ignore criticism, it's not a personal attack, it's feedback. If one person says it, sure, ignore it but if 5 people tell you the same thing, maybe you should look at working on it. Be open to change.

All right, I hereby end our interview here, thank you for your time Hades, I truly wish you the best and so, thank you very much for being my first client for the job.

Thank you! I've loved doing this, you're a great interviewer. I'll definitely be reading your other interviews as you post them!
