I pulled myself out of my warm and cozy bed before throwing on a long black sleeve shirt with some jeans. As I had told Mars, I have no neon so she's just gonna have to make do with it. I then just freshened up my makeup from earlier today and threw my hair into a low bun.

I walked out of my room seeing my brother, Benji, sitting at the table eating cereal while watching something on his phone, "Where you going?" he questioned pausing his video and looking up at me confused.

"Mars is forcing me to go to the football game" I complained rolling my eyes and walking towards him
before sitting down in the chair across from him.

"Guessing she just wants to stare at Evelyn all night?"

"Yes dude! Like that's literally the only reason we go to any of these games! She should be happy she picked cheer instead of some random ass sport like curling," I responded laughing as I leaned back on the chair making the front legs come off the floor slightly.

"So," he started saying dragging out the end of the word, "you coming home tonight or staying at Mars'?"

"Don't worry dude I'll be back. Plus moms not getting home till late. I can't just leave you alone," I responded with a small laugh before feeling my phone vibrate. I picked up seeing Mars' name across my screen with the text "here!" on it. "Love you! Bye!" I yelled as I walked away from Benji and towards the door. I walked out my door and then ran down the stairs until my feet hit the pavement and I saw Mars sitting in hair staring down at her phone as she waited for me. I pulled on the door handle which caused her to whip her head around and face me as I hopped in the car and dropped down in the seat.

"Took you long enough," she laughed before pulling her car into drive and started heading to school.

"Whatever, you're the one whos making me go to this," I replied as I looked out the window and watched the trees as we drove through the streets.

"You're not even in theme, but don't worry I picked up some stuff for you!" Mars exclaimed as she reached in her backseat and pulled out a Walmart bag before throwing it in my lap. "I got you some glow stick necklaces and bracelets and other shit," she spoke as she took a left turn into the student parking lot. I pulled out the collection of glow sticks before cracking all of them and attaching the ends to each other so that we could both put them on. "Ooo I want the purple one," Mars smiled as she reached over and threw on the purple colored glow stick necklace before I threw on a couple necklaces and bracelets.

"Do I have to go?" I complained turning my head to look at Mars who was messing with her hair.

"Yes, you're literally already here and I'm not driving your ass back home," she gave me a tight lipped smile before reaching over and opening up the glovebox and pulling out two small Tito's vodka bottles and handing one to me. "Trust me," she smiled before we both opened the bottles and downed them quickly.

"God that's disgusting," I scrunched my nose and shook my head at the taste of the alcohol before putting both glasses back into the glovebox. Once Mars turned her car off we both got out and entered the chilly night and started walking towards the football field that was filled with hundreds of our classmates. And to be honest I probably know like a lot less than half of them unlike Mars who probably knows a good majority of them from going to parties and shit like that.

We walked through the gates and entered without paying since we're students and headed over to the student section. It was already the end of the first quarter when we arrived, so when we got to the stands Mars yelled, "Seniors!" to everyone which allowed us to get in front of the underclassmen and juniors.

"How stupid is it that we're only here because of your crush!" I said loud enough for her to hear but quiet enough for no one else to hear the conversation.

"Oh shut up! At least I try to flirt with her," Mars rolled her eyes in response to my comment on the reason for us being here. "You should try to get out of your comfort zone! Talk to new people besides me and Jason for once!"

"Fine" I don't know if it was the help of liquid courage or whatever but I took my phone out and randomly clicked numbers from our senior group chat and added them all to a another one.
