♡♡
After successfully completing our third review, we returned to class and shared our review experiences with our classmates, describing how it went with the two gigantic figures, Aayush sir and Elangovan sir.
As the girls shifted the conversation to the upcoming Industrial Visit, I turned away, smiling, and focused on my phone and the reels. But even then, I could hear the excitement in their voices as they enthusiastically planned the trip.
When I reached for my Airpods, ready to plug them in and distract myself with some reels, a message popped up in the unofficial group chat as,

Then at the end, the finalized package details were shared, including a payment of ₹5100 per head.
I smiled, seeing how excited my classmates were as Charan and Yuvan stepped forward with a few of their friends.
"Okay guys. Plan'laa okay dhane?"
(Okay guys, everyone's okay with the plan, right?)
Charan asked them.
"Yesssss"
They shouted with excitement, and I couldn't help but smile as I watched them.
"Dates and bus ellaam fix panneerlaam but, payment mattum konjo seekro panneerunga. Appodha nalla bus kedaikum"
(Dates and bus are all fixed, but please make sure to pay up soon, guys. That way, we can get a good bus.)
Yuvan said.
"Adhu dha romba important. Nalla bus venum'naa payment neenga evlo seekro pandringlo avlo seekram dha kedaikum"
(That's really important. If you want a good bus, the sooner you make the payment, the better bus we'll get.)
"Adhellaa paathurlaa da vidu"
(Leave it dude, we can make it up)
Kamali said to Charan.
"Mmm. Girls unga amount ellaam Kamali kitta kuduthrunga. Dei, boys ellaarun Yuvan'te kuduthirunga da. Seetha thavara ellaarum varinga dhane?"
(Mmm. Girls, give your amounts to Kamali. And boys, give yours to Yuvan. Everyone will come except Seetha, right?)
I looked around and saw everyone nodding their heads. The boys headed back to their seats, except for Charan, who came towards me but then stopped and turned back to the class.
"Hey, innonu solu marandhutten. Vinitha mam naala avanga paiyana vittutu trip'laa vara mudiyaadhu nu solleetanga. So, ladies staff'le Rekha mam okay solleerkaanga. But, gents staff'le dha yaara koopudradhu nu therila."
(Hey, I forgot to mention something. Vinitha mam refused to come on the trip, as she can't leave her son alone. So, Rekha mam has agreed from the ladies' staff. But, we don't know whom to ask from the gents' staff.)
"Yaara venaa koopdu aana andha Manikandan sir'eh mattum kooptraadha"
(Whoever it is, just don't ask Manikandan sir.)
The whole class laughed at one of the boy's comments, and I smiled.
"So, we have two options. Ippodhaiku single aah irukkardhu, Elangovan sir and Aayush sir. Ivanga rendu perula yaaraadhu vandhaa okay dhane?"
(So, we have two options. For now, it's just Elangovan sir and Aayush sir. If either of them can come, that would be okay, right?)
"Double okay enakku"
(Double okay for me.)
Pooja shouted from the last bench. I turned back to see her grinning, and I sighed as I turned back to the front.
"Unakku Aayush sir vandhaale okay dha.. Deii andha moota poochiye nasuki podunga da"
(If Aayush sir comes, it's okay for you, right? Dude, just kill that silly girl.)
Charan commented, then came over and sat on the empty bench in front of me and Kamali's.
"Seetha. Neeyum varlaa le?"
(Seetha, why can't you come with us?)
He asked me.
"Nallaa sollu. Naan sonnaa dha kekka maatenguraa"
(Ask her yourself. When I say it, she won't listen to me.)
Kamali said, which made me glare at her. Despite knowing the circumstances I live in, she still wasn't supporting me.
"Illa Charan. Eng'aathula vida maataanga"
(No, Charan. My parents never let me go anywhere alone.)
I said, masking my sadness.
"Kamali venaa unga veetla pesi paakattume?"
(Should Kamali talk to your parents?)
I shook my head at him.
"Yaaru pesunaalum vida maataanga Charan"
(Whoever talks to them, they won't let me go, Charan.)
"Illa, idhu namma last IV, adhaa, nee mattum dha varla class laye. Adhaa ketten"
(No, it's our last IV, and you're the only one not coming. So, I asked you.)
"Sorry Charan. Enaala mudiyaadhu. Mudinjirundhaa naan vandhirukka maatenaa?"
(Sorry, Charan. It's just not possible. If it were possible, wouldn't I have come by now?)
"Mmm. Seri last'aah orey oru dhadava try panni paaru engalukkaaga please. Seriyaa?"
(Mmm. Okay, just try one last time for us, please. Will you?)
He pleaded with me. Not wanting to disappoint him, I nodded my head and said,
"Seri pesi paakuren"
(Okay. I'll try to talk with them)
He smiled and, after having a conversation with Kamali about the tour, he left for his place.
I turned to Kamali and glared at her. She raised her brows and shrugged, asking,
"What?"
"Enna what? Nokku theriyaadhaa eng'aathula epdi nu? Charan dha vandhu soldraanaa neeyum nannaaa sollu nu yaethi vidra?"
(What 'what'? Don't you know the circumstances I'm in? Even if you do, you're just encouraging Charan to ask me without supporting me?)
I asked her and she rolled her eyes.
"Naan ippo enna pannen? Avan solliyaadhu keppiyo nu nenachu dha sonnen"
(What did I do now? I just told him to ask you, thinking you might listen to him rather than me)
"Mch, Kamali nokku puriyardhaa, illayaa? Ippo, naan enna nee solli varla'ngra maadhiri nokku thonudhaa?"
(Kamali, don't you understand? Do you feel like I'm not coming on the trip even though you're the one asking me to come?)
I asked her, and she averted her gaze from me and muttered,
"Naan apdi sollala"
(I didn't feel like that.)
"Pinna epid soldra?"
(Then how did you feel?)
"Naan onnume sollala maami vidu"
(I didn't feel anything, just leave it.)
"Kamali sollu"
(Tell me)
I probed her further.
"Aayush sir varuvaaru nu sonnaa'vaadhu varuviyaa?"
(If Aayush sir comes on the trip, will you come then?)
She asked, looking into my eyes, and I stared at her in disbelief.
Here I am, already feeling down for not being able to go on the tour with them, and now she's adding to my feelings with her possessiveness over me.
"Hey, nee soldradha edhaadhu naan seiyaama irundhirukanaa, Kamali? Ennaala ippo mudiyaadhu ngradhu nokku theriyum le? pinna yen ipdi nadandhukura? Aayush sir eh enna vandhu kooptaalum ennaala vara mudiyaadhu Kamali. That's it"
(Hey Kamali, till now did I do anything against your words? You know I can't come on the trip, right? So why are you doing like this? Even if Aayush sir comes and asks, it's not possible for me. That's it.)
I yelled in frustration, stood up, and stormed out of the class, only to bump into a hard surface. I hissed, placing my hand on my forehead, and looked up to see Aayush sir with a concerned expression.
"Are you okay?"
"So... sorry, sir"
I mumbled, quickly turning left and walking away. I heard him calling out my name, but I ignored him and headed towards the restroom.
When I entered the classroom a few minutes later, Aayush sir was still at the center, sitting on the bench and working on his laptop. I gulped and asked for permission to enter. He looked up, examined my face for a moment, then nodded for me to come in.
I walked over, took my seat, and sat down. Kamali sat beside me and tried to grab my wrist, but I shrugged her off and glared at her.
"Sorry, maami"
She apologized, but I laid down on the desk and turned away from her, facing the window.
Kamali fell silent, giving me some space.
I then saw him through the window as he walked away from our class. His laptop bag was slung diagonally across his shoulder, one hand was in his pocket, and the other was running through his hair. Then he disappeared from my view.
"Avaru ivlo neram inga dha irundhaaru. Nee vandhadhum poitaaru"
(He was here for so long, and he left as soon as you came back.)
Kamali whispered in my ear. My lips curved into a slow smile, and I hid my face behind my arm, blushing.
Then, I'm not sure when I fell asleep, but jolted awake when someone stroked my cheek.
Vinitha mam was sitting at the front desk of our bench, and the girls were laughing around me.
I rubbed my face with my palms and smiled at her sleepily.
"Mam"
"Enna nalla thookamaa?"
(Did you have a good nap?)
Vinitha mam ruffled my hair.
"Mam"
"Poi face wash panneetu vaa odu"
(Go wash your face and come)
I nodded and left the class to wash my face, adjusting my dress, dupatta, and hair.
As I walked past his cabin, glanced through the window as usual, and what I saw made me frow and I stormed into the staffroom and then straight to his cabin.
"Enna nadakudhu inga?"
(What is happening here?)
Aayush sir lifted his face from near her neck and Pooja stood up from her knees. Then, they both looked at me, shocked.
"Seetha"
Pooja murmured on seeing me.
I struggled to keep myself from glaring at Aayush sir in front of Pooja.
"Enna pandra inga?"
(What are you doing here?)
I asked Pooja.
"Onnula di"
(Nothing)
"Onnula ma dha nee keela mutti pot.."
(If it's nothing, then why are you kneel...)
I raised my voice a little but stopped when,
"Seetha, wait, Pooja review'le avangalukku evlo mark potrukko nu paaka vandhaanga. Paathuttu irukkumbodhu paper keela vilundhiruchu edukalaa nu keela mutti pottu eduthuttu irundhaanga. Appo avanga kaila irundha thread chair oda kambila maatikichu adha eduthuttu irundhaanga. Naanum help pannen. Avlodha"
(Seetha, wait. Pooja just came to check her marks from the review. While she was looking at it, the paper fell down, so she kneeled to pick it up. While doing that, the thread from her bracelet got stuck in the chair. I was just helping her untangle it. That's all.)
He explained calmly, while looking into my eyes.
"Ohh"
I replied, and looked at Pooja.
Pooja left the cabin after seeing her marks, leaving us alone.
"Naan vandhadhum sikkirundha thread epdi correct'aah veliya vandhuchu?"
(How did the thread loosen from being stuck just as I entered at the right time?)
I asked him raising my brows.
"Enakkepdi theriyu?"
(How did I know?)
He shrugged his shoulders and turned back to his laptop.
"Naan serious'aah kettutu irukken. Laptop'eh paakaadhinga"
(I'm asking seriously. Don't look at your laptop.)
He took a deep breath and looked at me.
"Naanu romba serious'aah dha soldren. Nee vandhadhum epdi andha thread'eh edukka mudunjadhu nu therila"
(And I'm being very serious. I don't know how the thread loosened from being stuck just at the right time)
He said, staring my eyes with calmness again. I gulped at the intensity of his eyes but the visual of him being close with another girl only made me more angry with him.
"Yen neenga help panniye dha aaganumaa? avale eduthukka maataalaa? avlo close'aah poi help pannanumaa?"
(Why did you have to help her? Couldn't she have managed on her own? Why were you so close to her and helping her like that?)
He rolled his eyes, averted his gaze, and then looked at me again with a hint of disinterest.
"Mch, Seetha. Oru help ku dha pannen. Nee yen ivlo perusaa eduthukura?"
(Seetha, I just helped her with one thing. Why are you making such a big deal out of it?)
He asked casually.
Am I making it a big deal? Yes, it is a big deal. How could he be so close with another girl like that?
"Paatha enakku dhane pathikittu varudhu?"
(I'm the one who saw it and now I'm burning here)
I glared at him, my fists clenched tightly.
He noticed my clenched fists, then looked at me, raising his eyebrows.
"Ippo enna? unkoodayum dhane bus'le kitta ninnutu vandhen. Adhuvum oru situation. Idhuvum oru situation"
(What now? I stood close to you too on the bus, didn't I? That was a situation, and so is this.)
His words only fueled my anger further.
"Naanum avalum onnaa ungalukku?"
(Is she the same to you as I am?)
"Aama. Rendu perum en student dhane?"
(Yes. Aren't you both my students?)
He asked, his gaze shifting briefly to the laptop screen before returning to me as I said,
"Venaa professor. Naan vera edhaadhu solleerven"
(Don't speak like this, professor. Otherwise, I might say something else)
"Enna solluva?"
The corner of his lips curved into a smirk as he picked up his empty water bottle and stood up.
"Naan sonnaa.."
(If I say..)
I took a step back, abruptly halting my words as he took a step forward-
Towards me !
I gulped.
"Nee sonnaa?"
(If you say..?)
His steps moved closer while mine backed away, and I watched his smirk grow as I gulped nervously.
But, I shuddered and looked behind me as I bumped into the cabin wall. Turning back to him with widened eyes, I saw him still approaching.
My eyes were closed immediately, praying to my 'perumaal(god),' though I wasn't even sure what I was asking for. Because, my mind was too overwhelmed to think clearly.
Feeling no movement from him, I finally opened my eyes. And I was astonished to see him standing so close, his arm near my face, his sleeves rolled up revealing his hairy hand, with his palm pressed against the wall beside my head.
I tried to understand his thoughts from his neutral, unchanging expression. But, could not. So, taking a deep breath, I asked,
"En..enna?"
(Wh..what?)
But he continued to look into my eyes with such intensity that I found myself drowning in his chocolate eyes for the first time, forgetting where I was and who we were to each other. My chest tightened as he parted his lips to say something, which hitched my breath.
"I don't think I'll.."
He stopped suddenly, and I blinked as he shook his head, clicked his tongue, and then said,
"I will never see eyes like these again"
His lips whispered.
The tone.
It was warm and deep, like a tender caress, wrapping around my heart and making it flutter for no reason other than the warmth that radiated from it.
So much affection, so much adoration. But neither he nor I could name the experience we felt in that moment.
We continued to stare at each other, our eyes locked without a single blink. As time passed, I struggled to hold back my breath, finally releasing it forcefully when he opened the door with a thud and left his cabin, leaving me alone.
I panted with a heavy chest, taking deep breaths, and wiped the sweat rolling down from my temple to beside my ear. And I stood there, wondering,
"What the hell had happened to my robot man?"
