Chapter One: Pink
"Y/N..." Hermione moaned as he nibbled at her neck while pinning her down on her bed.
Y/N hummed out a response before kissing at different spots on her neck, his hands tugging at her shirt.
"Y-Y/N my parents are downstairs." Hermione managed to mutter out, pulling her shirt down and pushing Y/N away softly.
Y/N pouted before getting off of her, crossing his legs with Hermione's wrapped around his waist. Hermione chuckled at her boyfriend's response while sitting up onto his lap. She fiddled around with his hair, making it look nice and tidy to ensure that her parents wouldn't suspect their little snogging session.
(A/N: I know some of you thought something else was happening, you little nasties.)
"I love you." Y/N smiled at her serious expression.
"I love you too." Hermione moved her hands from his hair to his cheeks, squishing them while giving him a short kiss on the lips.
"Hermione! Y/N! Tea's ready!" Mrs. Granger called out from downstairs.
"Come on, Y/N." Hermione said, taking his hand and getting off the bed.
Y/N had other plans however, pulling her back to sit on the bed. He then placed both of his hands on her cheeks pressing another kiss onto her lips before peppering her face with little kisses making her giggle.
"Y/NNNN, my mum's calling us." Hermione whined with a smile.
"Give me a kiss first." Y/N smirked, pointing to his own lips.
Hermione forced a sigh before giving him what he wanted. As soon as their lips collided, Y/N wrapped an arm around her waist and another around her head, deepening their kiss as he softly laid her back down onto her soft bed.
Y/N loved being close to Hermione. Her lips tasted like a subtle strawberry flavor. Y/N wasn't sure if her lips tasted naturally sweet due to her not really wearing makeup but he didn't care. He loved it. She smelled like vanilla essence. Most people would describe that as a classic, boring scent but Y/N felt at ease whenever he'd smell that.
"Hermione! Y/N!" Mrs. Granger called out once more.
The two finally separated from each other's lips due to the lack of air.
"You need to stop doing that." Hermione breathed out, hitting him lightly on the chest.
"Doing what?" Y/N smiled innocently before getting off her.
"Making me feel helpless against your touch..." Hermione admitted with a blush while straightening up her hair.
"Come on, Granger. Just admit you love my lips." Y/N winked at her, fixing his own hair this time.
"You love mine." She whispered into his ear, making him shiver before letting out a cheeky giggle as she made her way out of the door
"You're seriously going to be the death of me, Lion." Y/N sighed, holding a hand over his heart, trying to calm himself.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You really love her, don't you? Our Hermione?" Mr. Granger spoke up as the two sat on a picnic blanket, watching Hermione and Mrs. Granger pick dandelions from the field.
"With everything I've got." Y/N replied, staring at Hermione with the softest expression Mr. Granger had ever seen.
"How would you describe her to a stranger?" Mr. Granger questioned him, making sure that he was suitable for his only daughter.
Y/N went quiet, his eyes following the brunette smiling with her mother.
"Her name's Hermione. But I call her Granger." Y/N started, his eyes remaining locked onto his girlfriend.
"Why is that?" Mr. Granger questioned, pretending to be a stranger.
"It annoys her." Y/N chuckled, remembering the stern look she would sometimes give him when he'd tease her.
"She's cute when she's annoyed."
"Really? Go on." Mr. Granger raised an eyebrow at the light haired boy.
"She's got bushy hair. She hates it sometimes but I love it. I think it's beautiful." Y/N continued on, the soft smile never leaving his face.
Mr. Granger studied the boy's expression as Y/N continued on speaking.
"She loves books but also things you'd expect a girl to, like, flowers and romance novels. I don't admit it but I began reading them myself even if I don't like it just so she'd have someone to talk about them with."
"I see. Take good care of her." Mr. Granger pat him on the back, his eyes now following his own wife.
Y/N nodded as Hermione and her mother made their way back to them.
"Y/N!" Hermione ran at him with her arms wide open and the cutest little smile.
"Lion." Y/N grinned at her, opening his own arms, ready to catch her.
Hermione leaped at him, wrapping her arms around his neck, making him fall over on the picnic blanket he sat on. Y/N and Hermione giggled as Y/N sat back up with Hermione still on his lap. Her hands found themselves on his chest while Y/N's arms snaked their way around her waist, her legs wrapped around him.
"Take a picture, Granger. It'll last longer." Y/N teased her after their long staring contest.
"Oh, shut up." Hermione chuckled, wrapping her arms around his neck once more.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been a few days since Y/N and Hermione were summoned to Grimmauld Place. They were told that it was the headquarters of those who fought in the first wizarding world war. Y/N and Hermione's were instincts were to send an owl to Harry but the adults warned them not to. They thought it was completely unfair, most of the Weasley's family was there and yet the boy who lived himself wasn't aware of it. They did need to let it go though, they were only kids. The adults wouldn't take their arguing for anything.
So now, Y/N, Hermione, Ron, Ginny and the Weasley twins were sat in the living room, playing around.
"Once I make my move. You're free to check the king." Ginny mocked Ron, pointing at his brother.
"No. Ron. No!" Fred imitated Harry's voice from when they were first years.
Y/N giggled at him while Ron shot him a glare. It was Y/N who told the others about the conversation while they were in the trapdoor.
"What is it?" George exclaimed with a towel on his head, pretending to be Hermione.
Y/N laughed so hard, clutching his stomach. Hermione groaned at him, throwing a pillow at Y/N, making him fall off his chair but continued laughing on the floor.
"W-Weasley plans on sacrificing himself!" Y/N stuttered out, continuing their 'play' while laying on the ground.
"No you can't! There must be another way!" George cried out dramatically, falling to his knees and reaching his hands towards Hermione, making her throw another pillow at him this time.
"Do you wanna stop Snape from getting that stone or not?!" Ginny got up from her seat, stomping over to her older brothers.
"Harry, it's you that has to go on! I know it! Not me." She pointed at Ron who hid his face with a pillow in embarrassment.
"Not Malfoy." She nudged the blonde haired boy on the floor with her foot, making him sit up.
"Not Hermione." Ginny turned her gaze at the bushy haired girl who's face was as bright as Ginny's hair.
"YoHH!!" Ginny dramatically pointed to Fred.
The four of them antagonizing Ron all ended up laughing so much, they fell down onto the ground.
"Y/N you're a bad influence on Ginny." Hermione groaned as her boyfriend made her way towards the couch, taking a seat next to her.
"It's only Ginny that I've taught." Y/N chuckled, tucking her hair behind her ear.
"You'd tell the whole world about the trapdoor if you could." She puffed out her cheeks.
"Already have." Y/N's smile formed into a cheeky grin as he pulled her onto his lap.
Hermione allowed him to pull her onto his lap, sitting on his sideways with her arms crossed.
"Cause you're my world." Y/N whispered into her ears, making her whole face turn bright red as he embraced her tightly.
Hermione seemed satisfied by flirting, leaning her head onto his chest while uncrossing her arms. Y/N took her hands into his, allowing her to play with the ring on his fingers.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh, Harry!" Hermione exclaimed, instantly embracing the raven-haired boy just as the door opened.
Harry yelped in surprise but accepted the hug until Hermione pulled away.
"Are you alright? We overheard them talking about the Dementor attack. You must tell us everything."
"Let the man breathe, Hermione." Ron spat, furrowing his eyebrows at her.
"Yeah, he just got sucked in the wrong way." Y/N chuckled, fist bumping Harry.
"Y/N!" Hermione scolded, hitting him on the shoulder.
"Sorry." Y/N muttered, rubbing his arm.
"And this hearing at the Ministry. It's just outrageous!" Hermione spoke fast, she had been the most worried for Harry out of the three.
"I've looked it up with Y/N. They simply can't expel you. It's completely unfair."
"Yeah. There's a lot of that going round at the moment." Harry sounded completely defeated as he walked into the room.
"So what is this place?"
"It's the headquarters." Ron replied, pocketing his hands into his jeans.
"Of the Order of the Phoenix. It's a secret society." Hermione added.
"Dumbledore formed it back when they fought Voldemort." Y/N explained, taking a seat on the oddly placed couch.
"Couldn't have put any of this in a letter, I suppose?" Harry asked them sarcastically.
"I've gone all summer without a scrap of news."
"What's with you Gryffindor's and your trust issues?" Y/N complained, folding his legs.
"We wanted to write, mate. Really, we did." Ron answered quietly.
"Only-"
"Only what?" Harry spat.
"Only Dumbledore made us swear not to tell you anything." Hermione replied instantly, hating any conflict within their group.
"...Dumbledore said that?" Harry gulped.
"B-But why would he wanna keep me in the dark? Maybe I could help. After all, Y/N and I were the ones who saw Voldemort return... we were the ones who fought him, who saw Cedric Diggory get killed."
"It's exactly that, Harry." Y/N sighed, looking at him.
"You've got a hero complex. You act without thinking. If he had told you earlier, you would've done something that might've gotten you killed."
"Y/N-"
"Harry." The twins cut Harry off, appearing on either side of him.
"Thought we heard your dulcet tones."
"Don't bottle it up, though, mate. Let it out." Fred said with a cheeky smile.
"Anyway, if you're all done shouting... wanna hear something a little more interesting?" George smirked.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"If anyone has a right to know, it's Harry and Y/N. If it wasn't for them... we wouldn't even know Voldemort was back." They lowered a device in the shape of an ear to eavesdrop on the adults.
"They're not children, Molly."
"But they're not adults either!" Mrs. Weasley snapped back.
"They're not James, Sirius. And Y/N is certainly not Lucius!"
"Well, they're not your sons." Sirius argued.
"They might as well be! Y/N desperately tries to stay away from his father and Harry hasn't even got parents, who else have they got?" Molly spat.
"Harry's got me." Sirius said confidently.
"Hey Tangerine." Y/N greeted as the younger girl walked up to them, also eavesdropping.
"Hey Pretty Boy." She smiled at him.
Both of them had gotten quite close with their stay at the headquarters, even making up nicknames for each other. Hermione would always scold Y/N when he'd teach her silly things to torment her older brothers, mostly Ron.
"How touchingly paternal, Black." Snape spat sarcastically.
"Perhaps Potter will grow up to be a felon, just like his godfather."
"Now, you stay out of this, Snivellus." Sirius growled.
"Or perhaps, Y/N will grow up to be as grumpy as his godfather."
"Snape's part of the Order?" Harry questioned.
"Git." Ron spat.
"Granger, your cat." Y/N whispered hastily, pointing at Crookshanks who jumped at the ear.
"Get off it." Fred whispered, shaking the string that held the ear.
"Crookshanks." Hermione tried to call for her cat.
"Stop it."
"Get off, you bloody cat." Ron spat.
"Crookshanks. Leave it alone." Hermione leaned over the railings.
"Granger." Y/N whispered, holding her waist down.
She obviously wasn't going to fall down the steps but that didn't stop him from being worried. Crookshanks kept tugging at the ear before finally snapping the string and running off with it.
"Hermione, I hate your cat." Ron muttered.
"Bad Crookshanks." Hermione scolded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well, we'll be eating down in the kitchen." Molly called out to the teenagers as they made their way down the steps.
"Oh! Just because you're allowed to use magic now does not mean you have to whip your wands out for everything!" She scolded when Fred and George apparated behind her.
Ginny and Ron pushed past their parents while Y/N, Harry and Hermione walked behind.
"You hungry, Harry?" Molly's expression instantly turned into a smile upon seeing him.
"You sure you're alright, Harry? Gave us quite a turn." Arthur Weasley hugged his wife with one arm.
"Come on, love." Hermione pulled Y/N behind her and walked in to give Harry and the adults some space.
"Love?" Y/N chuckled, obviously loving the new nickname.
"Don't say anything or I'm never calling you that ever again." Hermione muttered without turning to face him but Y/N could see her reddened ears.
He smiled as the two sat down opposite Ginny and an older girl they had met, Tonks. They chuckled as she turned her face into a pig's and then to a duck. Y/N held Hermione's hand under the table, interlocking their fingers.
"It seems your hearing in the Ministry is to be before the entire Wizengamot." Arthur Weasley explained as Harry took a seat opposite Lupin.
"I don't understand. What has the Ministry of Magic got against me?" Harry questioned.
"Show him. He'll find out soon enough." Moody growled, folding his arms.
Everyone went quiet as an Auror, Kingsley Shacklebolt, handed him the newspaper.
"The boy who lies." Y/N interrupted the silence with a sarcastic tone.
"He's been attacking Dumbledore as well." Arthur tried to reassure Harry.
"Fudge is using all his power, including his influence at the Daily Prophet... to smear anyone who claims the Dark Lord has returned."
"What about Y/N? How come he doesn't have an article on him?" Harry questioned, looking towards the boy who sat at the other end of the table.
"You seem to forget who my father is." Y/N sighed.
Although he father must have been disappointed in him for not staying with him at the graveyard, he still greatly loved Y/N.
"But why would Fudge do that?" Harry changed his question after realizing the Malfoy's power.
"He thinks Dumbledore's after his job." Lupin shook his head.
"But that's insane! No one in their right mind could believe that-"
"Exactly the point. Fudge isn't in his right mind. It's been twisted and warped by fear." Lupin cut Harry off.
"Now, fear makes people do terrible things, Harry. The last time Voldemort gained power... he almost destroyed everything we hold most dear. Now he's returned, and I'm afraid the minister will do almost anything to avoid facing that terrifying truth."
"We think Voldemort wants to build up his army again." Sirius spoke, making eye contact with Y/N.
Y/N felt Hermione's grip on his tighten.
"Fourteen years ago, he had huge numbers at his command. And not just witches and wizards, but all manner of dark creatures. He's been recruiting heavily, and we've been attempting to do the same. But gathering followers isn't the only thing he's interested in."
Moody cleared his throat, not wanting the children to get too involved.
"We believe... Voldemort may be after something." Sirius announced.
"Sirius." Moody scolded.
"Something he didn't have last time." Sirius ignored his warning, turning towards Y/N.
"Y/N... your father would know of a lot of things."
"No." Hermione spoke up immediately knowing where the conversation was going.
"Y/N is not some kind of secret weapon at your disposal!"
"It would certainly help if he was." Sirius scoffed.
"That's enough! He's just a child! They all are!" Molly shouted, walking over to put the paper away.
"You say more and you might as well induct them into the Order straight away."
"Good. I want to join. If Voldemort's raising an army, then I want to fight. And if it wasn't for Y/N's family, I'm sure he'd like to too." Harry argued with her.
"Fight? We're only fifth years, Harry. You think Expelliarmus is going to be enough to defeat them?" Y/N spat, arguing with one of his best friends.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Y/N!" Draco called out from behind the quartet who had just gotten off the Hogwart's Express.
"Draco!" Y/N exclaimed as Draco pulled him into a hug.
"Don't come home. They hold meetings there." Draco whispered into his ear before letting go.
Y/N nodded sternly at his brother before replacing his expression with a smile. They were careful not to let the other's know or else Harry would tell Dumbledore straight away, leading to his father's arrest.
"I'm surprised the Ministry's still letting you walk around free, Potter." Draco began teasing Harry.
"You better enjoy it while you can. I expect there's a cell in Azkaban with your name on it."
Harry tried to lunge at Draco but was held back by Y/N.
"What'd I tell you? Complete nutter." Draco chuckled as he left with his friends.
"Just stay away from me!" Harry yelled.
"I'm sure he wouldn't want to be in the same room as you either, Harry. Just calm down." Y/N sighed, shaking his head as he let him go.
"Rock paper scissors?" Y/N asked his girlfriend, holding his bag and hand out.
"Seriously? What are we, still in the third year?" Hermione rolled her eyes at him.
"Come on... please?" Y/N begged.
Hermione sighed before holding out her hand and obliging. The two of them kept rolling ties until Y/N finally beat her, causing her to groan.
"Yes!" Y/N cheered, pumping his fist in the air before putting his bag around Hermione's shoulder.
"Y/N wins again!"
"You're a big man child." Hermione tried to sound annoyed but couldn't stop the smile forming on her face at Y/N's cuteness.
Y/N poked his tongue out at her, trying to annoy her further. Hermione tried to kick him under the knee but Y/N dodged her. He ran around her and placing both of his hands onto her shoulders, pushing her as they walked through the gravel paths.
Y/N laughed when Harry stopped in his tracks, his jaw dropping when Cho smiled shyly at him.
"You know her boyfriend just died right?" Y/N chuckled beside him, hugging Hermione from behind and resting his head on her shoulder.
"Y/N, that tickles." Hermione giggled.
"Hi, guys." Neville came up next to them, holding an odd plant.
"Hey, Neville." They all greeted in sync.
"How did you, a tiny Gryffindor suddenly grow as tall as me?" Y/N questioned him.
"What have you been drinking???"
Neville chuckled as galloping was heard behind them.
"What is it?" Harry asked, looking up at the dark, skinny horse-like creature.
"What's what?" Ron asked as the rest of them turned back around.
"That. Pulling the carriage." Harry said.
"Nothing's pulling the carriage, Harry." Hermione said, wrapping Y/N's bag around his own shoulders once more.
"It's pulling itself, like always."
"No, Granger. It's a strange dark horse." Y/N put a finger on his chin, trying to remember where he had seen the creature before.
The golden quartet and Neville made their way to board the carriage.
"You're not going mad." A girl with a soft voice said.
"I can see them too. You're just as sane as I am."
"Right." Y/N furrowed his eyebrows at her.
Y/N, Hermione and Ron separated from the group to head to the Prefect's carriage. He, Hermione, Ron and even Draco had been chosen to be prefects. Y/N was surprised when Dumbledore had allowed both of the twins to become prefects instead of the usual 1 girl and 1 boy.
"I can't believe this empty headed ginger got chosen over Harry to become a prefect." Y/N spat while he walked hand in hand with Hermione.
"Hey!" Ron exclaimed.
"Did I lie?" Y/N raised his eyebrow at him.
"You'd probably bully the hell out of our Slytherin first years with your newfound power."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Good evening, children." Dumbledore gained the student's attentions.
"Now, we have two changes in staffing this year. We're pleased to welcome back Professor Grubbly-Plank... who'll be taking Care of Magical Creatures... while Professor Hagrid is on temporary leave."
"Pfff. Grubbly-Plank." Draco chuckled causing Y/N and Blaise to laugh.
"We also wish to welcome out new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher... Professor Dolores Umbridge. And I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing the professor good luck." Dumbledore introduced a woman who was dressed up in all pink.
"I didn't know they allowed toads to teach classes." Y/N whispered with a laugh.
Draco had to cover his mouth to keep his laugh from getting too loud.
"Now, as usual, our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you-" Dumbledore started speaking once more.
"Ehm-Ehm." Umbridge cleared her throat in an odd way, cutting Dumbledore off.
Everyone went quiet, casting their eyes at Umbridge as she stood up from her seat and made her way towards the front.
"Psst. Granger." Y/N tried to get the attention of his girlfriend who sat behind him.
Y/N snuck behind her to whisper into her ear while the Professor's were pre-occupied with Umbridge.
"Granger. She's as pink as your pa-" Y/N whispered only to be cut off by Hermione's fork full of cake being shoved into his mouth.
Y/N choked on it, pounding at his chest before swallowing the cake. Hermione had gone bright pink at his words, staring at him in shock.
"How did you know that?!" She whisper-shouted at him.
"Oh my god, it is. I just guessed." Y/N chuckled, teasing his girlfriend.
"I hate you." Hermione muttered, trying to regain her composure.
"You love me." Y/N smirked at her.
"Shut up." Hermione huffed, turning her attention back to the front.
"Give me a kiss first." Y/N placed his thumb and index finger on Hermione's chin to force her to face him.
"If I must." Hermione dramatically sighed before giving him a small peck on the lips.
"Satisfied?"
"It'll have to do." Y/N joked, placing another kiss onto her lips before retreating back into his seat.
"Thank you, headmaster, for those kind words of welcome." Umbridge finally began speaking.
"One day, I swear Granger's going to kill you." Draco teased his brother, having witnessed the whole scene.
"She loves me too much." Y/N chuckled, gently tidying his robes.
"Unfortunately." Draco fake gagged.
"And how lovely to see all your bright... happy faces smiling up at me." Umbridge continued.
No one was smiling.
"I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends."
"God, I hope not." Y/N said, making Draco giggle.
"The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance." Umbridge spoke slowly, using her facial expressions to express her words more deeply.
"Although each headmaster has brought something new to this historic school... progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged. Let us preserve what must be preserved... perfect what can be perfected... and prune practices that ought to be prohibited."
She giggled before leaving the front. The students all clapped with straight faces.
"Thank you, Professor Umbridge. That really was most illuminating." Dumbledore said though sounding unimpressed.
"Now the Ministry's interfering at Hogwarts?" Y/N muttered to himself.
