Shawn:

I kissed Venus's forehead, she looked beautiful sleeping. I cautiously slipped out of the bed, hoping that Venus's senses weren't active. Venus moved and rolled over, placing her hand on where I had been. I made a small fire ball, one that she could hold in her hand. I placed it in the palm of her hand and she pulled it close to her. She's odd, but that's why I love her.

"I love you Venus" I whispered before grabbing my shoes, and coat and running out the door

I went in through the woods, stealthily moving through the trees and barely making a sound. I couldn't help it, I had to check... I had to see. What if she wasn't there? Aaliyah... She brought Venus and I together with her little promise of hope. If she was hurt, or in some possible danger, its my fault. I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if she died. I slowed my pace down as I got close to the edge of the town. I peeked out of the edge, the market place was empty and dimly lit. I stepped out and ran up to a building, alright I haven't done his in a while... I jumped up and focused my energy on staying in the air... Stay suspended Shawn, you can do this.. And it happened. I wasn't falling to the ground! I flew up and landed on the top of the building. No more flying, I still have yet to control that. I walked across the roof to see the distance I had to jump to the next building.. Not that much. I backed up before running and jumping. I landed on the opposite roof and didn't bother to stop, I just kept running and jumping. My house was near the center of the city, but on an elevated level. I felt adrenaline pump through me, the wind blowing in my face and my body felt like it was flying in the air. I let out a little laugh, this felt good! I closed and opened my eyes, oh crap... I tried to stop but I was going way to fast, I was forced to jump and tumble through an open window. I landed on my back and all the wind was knocked out of me. I groaned as I stood up, where was I? My eyes widened when I realized, I was in my room! I had done it! I was back home! I heard footsteps come up the stairs, crap I got to hide! I crawled under my bed and held my breath, maybe they'll not come in here. My door opened, oh god...

"Did you hear that?" Mum?

"Look its only the pot" I heard Dad say

I looked back and saw that on the floor was a flower pot that must've also fallen when I landed in.

"Oh okay, come on" I heard Mum say

I heard the window close then footsteps leading out of the room. They left the door open, perfect cause my door squeaks. I climbed out from under the bed and cautiously creeped out of my room. I checked the halls, no one. I went to my right, and down the hall to Aaliyah's room door. I held my breath, she could be here, she could not. I carefully wrapped my fingers around the door knob and slowly opened the door. At first all I saw was her bed. Her empty, still made bed. My heart began to race as I continued to open the door all the way, she wasn't here.

"Shawn?" I heard a whisper say

My head snapped in the direction of Aaliyah's window where she sat in her pajama gown. She ran up to me and hugged me, my breathing slowing down as I hugged her back. She was alive, and looking okay.

"Oh Aaliyah your okay" I whispered

"Of course I'm okay Shawn, why wouldn't I be?" she asked in her perfectly soft calm voice

I looked around and shut the door, wouldn't be wise to keep it open. I looked out the window and shut it, just as a helicopter passed by. I drew the curtains and turned around to see a confused Aaliyah.

"Shawn what's going o-"

"Aaliyah listen to me. I'm here to save you"

She stared at me blankly.

"Save me? Shawn you're the one that needs saving. Your lucky I didn't scream"

I shook my head, how was she going to believe our whole lives were lies? I took in a deep breath and began from the beginning. I explained to her what I had learned, what Julia had told me, how Venus and I were held captive by the council, and now. When I finished Aaliyah stared at me blankly.

"I've... I've always known..." she whispered, looking down at her lap

"You've always known what?" I asked

"That I was a special... I thought if I could hide it, I didn't have to live as carefully as you did Shawn... I knew I should have told you and I didn't.." she whispered

She sniffled, and I saw several tears fall onto her lap. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her close to me. She was afraid of being pressured with the weight I had been carrying on my shoulders.

"Its okay Aaliyah.." I whispered into her hair

"Shawn we have to go.." she said, looking up at me

I gave her a confused look. Go? Go where?

"If what you say is true about Mum and Dad NOT being Mum and Dad, its not safe here for either of us. I have to go with you" she said getting up and grabbing her bag hanging on her bed post

"That's why I came back Aaliyah, for you."

She smiled and she packed up several personal belongings. I watched as she swiftly went around the room, almost as light as air.

"I'll be right back Aaliyah, I have some stuff I would like to get from my room." I said

She nodded and I opened the door quietly and went back to my open room. I looked in the closet and found my guitar and note book, I have a feeling Venus is going to be happy. I packed up several clothes and other personals. There was a sudden pounding below and the sound of wood breaking.

"Where's your daughter?!" I heard someone shout from below.

There was a small gush of wind and Aaliyah was in my room.

"We have to go!" she said

I nodded, they were after Aaliyah.

Venus:

I felt the warmth suddenly diminish. I opened my eyes and saw the empty space in my bed. What? I looked down at my hand and saw a small glowing orb before it flickered and went out. Where did Shawn go? I jumped out of bed and called out his name. No answer. I ran out of my room and called him again. No answer. I ran down the stairs and called his name one more time. No answer. I began to panic, where did he go?! I ran up the stairs and into Nicks room where Jacob was sleeping.

"Jacob wake up!" I shouted, shaking him awake

"Wha-?" he opened his eyes and rubbed them

"I-its Shawn!"

"What about him?"

"He's gone!"

Jacob stared at me blankly.

"What do you mean he's 'gone'" he hissed, jumping out of the bed

I followed him as he ran out of the room, slipping in his shoes.

"Where could've he gone?" Jacob asked after searching the whole house

I shrugged. Where could've Shawn gone?! Did he leave on purpose? What could have been so important that he couldn't have told us? I felt an odd feeling come over me. Danger...

"Jacob get the stuff and go put it in the car" I blurted out

He looked like he was going to speak but I silenced him.

"No questions asked" I hissed

He ran up the stairs and I ran out to the car. It was semi ready, we'll need to make one more stop before making the full journey. I took off the sheet that covered the car and in several swift motions put the car piece back in and pushed it out. Jacob ran out with all our bags and the pups at his heels. We shoved everything into the car and I felt the world suddenly go still. Everything was silent, Jacob and I stared at each other and breathed heavily. Something was wrong...

"Danger" we both said at the same time

Suddenly Shawn and Aaliyah came from around the corner, bags on the backs and out of breath.

"Where THE HECK WHERE YOU?!"
