Venus:

I woke up with Shawn's arms wrapped around my waist. I flipped over to face him and smiled at his adorable sleeping face. I grazed his cheek with my hand and kissed his forehead. He was there when I was midway down the tunnel of death, he was also very protective and caring and sweet and cute.. Did I mention cute yet cause hes cute. I carefully got out of his arms and stood up stretching and giving a slight shudder from the cold, although I had been warm all night. I looked around and saw that Jacob wasn't around inside, even though I swore he had come back last night and had passed out. You know what I don't even know why I'm concerned about him. He came here because of me even though he knows what I think of him. I have a feeling there's something more to it, like hes not just here for me, like hes intended to do more. I had looked around and my thoughts were snapped when I felt a sharp pain in my neck. I placed my hand on my neck and looked into the metal lid of the care package. The right side of my neck was swollen and red, imprinted with the mark of the council. Is that why they ambushed me? To brand me? Well that's stupid, I mean yes I hate this new mark but like, why go all that way to target me to brand me? I felt arms wrap around me and I jumped slightly, feeling there warm breath on my ear.

"Shh its only me" I heard Shawn whisper into my ear which made me giggle

"Stop doing that, it tickles" I said with a laugh as I covered my ear

He laughed lightly and I smiled. I turned around to face him and I hugged him, mainly just to feel warm. He hugged me back and I felt him move my hair back, revealing the swollen part of my neck.

"Oo that doesn't look to good" he said looking down on me

"It doesn't feel so good" I said covering the swelling with my hand and flinching

He bent down and opened the package and opened up some type of can. He stood up and rubbed it on my neck. It smelt good and I could feel the pain draining away. I looked over his shoulder and smelled Jacob approaching the Igloo. He crawled in and saw Shawn applying the cream to my neck.

"And where the heck have you been?" I asked as he just walked in trying to ignore the fact that Shawn was even touching me

"Out, found where the border is and it shocked me and the council doesn't have control over it so it would mean that you guys have something to do with it" he said sitting down.

Shawn rolled his eyes and I held back from laughing as Shawn put away the cream. We ate some food that came in the package and began to pack up. I mean we couldn't just stay in one place forever and expect to survive, we had to go out and find a way back home. I walked with a bag on my back and my hands in my pockets. I followed Shawn who grudgingly followed Jacob who seemed to know where he was going which seemed odd. There was a sudden space in between the forest and the rest of the biome.

"Where here at the border, who wants to get shocked first?" Jacob asked turning on his heels and looking at Shawn

"Fine" Shawn said, brushing past Jacob

"Be careful" I said in a low voice

Jacobs eyes darted at me and I looked down, but caught myself and looked up. What just happened? Where did my sense of Alpha go? I felt strange, like I wasn't myself for a split second and I snapped back into place. I growled at him and he just rolled his eyes, as if he completely forgot the times I've taken him down or have bitten him. Shawn touched the field and I hoped he wouldn't get hurt. There was a ripple against the field and Jacob smirked.

"Well, its deactivated so stay standing there while I pass" he said, walking in through the barrier

I was hoping Shawn and I were thinking the same thing of closing it while Jacob was right in the middle, cutting him in half, but Shawn didn't take the chance when he had sadly. I ushered Shawn in and he hesitantly went through the barrier leaving me behind in the frozen tundra alone. A cold wind sent shivers down my spine as the cold bit my face. Hopefully this next biome would be hotter. I stepped forward and went through the barrier. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped, my shoulders slumped down and my bag slid down and off my back. Jacob was taking off his jacket and Shawn was just as shocked as I. We were in a desert ish biome. It was extremely hot but off in the distance you could see a forest line, and that was our goal. I immediately began to take off the jacket and snow pants to expose the clothes the plants had made me in the first forest biome. Shawn had his and Jake had just plain black clothes underneath his.

"Okay, I was not loving the cold, now this is some heat" I said wiping my forehead as we walked

"Well be careful what you wish for" Jacob said as he walked ahead

I rolled my eyes and trudged along behind him. Shawn and I walked at the same pace, all was silent and boring and hot and sweaty and- yeah I'm gonna stop there. Lets just say, out of all the adventures I've had so far, nothing has tried to kill us but the sun, and the sun is always out there to kill me. We walked by a cactus and I groaned, I was thirsty. I felt something sharp and spiny suddenly grab ahold of my leg.

"Ouch" I called out as the spines wrapped around me

I suddenly felt my quench for water diminish and my energy levels rise again. Shawn had immediately stopped and watched wide eyed as my tan went away because of the nutrients the plant was giving me to replenish my skin cells. It let go and left some spines in my leg but it was worth it.

"Well, your looking good now" Shawn said, wiping sweat off of his forehead

I smiled and Jacob threw a water bottle at him

"Oh yeah, forgot I had this" Jacob said all grumpy as he continued to walk

I stared after him and Shawn just shrugged and we continued to walk. Its something about Jacob... I can sense it, somethings not right with him, and I sense something different in myself too. We continued to walk for what seemed like forever. How did the players in this biome survive? They probably stuck to the forest line. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I tripped and rolled forward in the sand. I groaned and sat up, shaking my head to get out the sand. Shawn had stopped to laugh. I looked up at him and raised an eyebrow

"What, did you trip over your self?" he asked, trying to get a hold of himself

I rolled my eyes and gave a light laugh, he was just trying to get me back for when I laughed at him back in the forest several days ago. I looked up and my face turned serious as Jacob looked down at me, stretching his arm out for me to take hold of. I suddenly felt a wave of fear take over me and I crawled backwards and picked my self up. I snapped back into place and almost smacked myself. What just happened? I could've grabbed his hand and flipped him into the sand but my pride, my confidence, and my hope just disappeared and reappeared. Shawn had caught me when I stumbled back slightly and I regained my balance, brushing the sand off my legs.

"You okay?" Shawn asked causing me to turn around and face him

Just as I was going to respond, something metal glimmered in the sand over his shoulder. I ignored his question and brushed passed him. I tried to clear the sand and realized what it was. It was one of the pods that lead back home. I looked around, if this was an arena, and this is were the pods were, where did the players have to run?

"Come on leave it alone, we don't have all day" Jacob said motioning us to follow him

"Uh no, shut up and let me think" I hissed showing him just because I acted afraid for no reason, didn't mean I could be messed around with.

Shawn ignored him also and began helping me uncover more of the pod entrance, which is when I realized, the number thirteen was printed in yellow on the top. I gasped and so did Shawn. Remember when we figured out that we were fighting on the ruins of District Thirteen? Well, we were standing where the main capital building should have been, and this pod was an emergency evacuation for the governors and important people! But that would mean... We weren't in a arena at all!
