Chapter 47 - Some Unwanted Attention (Part 3)
I'm procrastinating again:
The Procrastination of a Nation,
Put in a Mason.
All of my Nation,
BURNS.
<3rd POV>
Shri'n'thyl screamed in pain as Wreign's claws dug into his face; they both went crashing to the side, dragging a large funnel through the ground. Wreign continuing to claw, bite, and rip the Blood-Moons Elf to shreds as they destroyed the ground in their path. Freija watched on in fascination and slight discomfort knowing how much more powerful Wreign could get at any moment. Getting to a point where even Pops might have trouble keeping him contained enough for the spell to wear off without hurting Wreign too much.
Shri'n'thyl screamed in pain again as the gigantic wolf-man on-top of him tore into his arm with his maw, unable to go for this neck due to the bands of fire constantly assailing him from every direction as the Elf fought for an ounce of freedom from under the onslaught of a (Berserk) Wolf. Shri'n'thyl gathered enough power to blast Wreign into the air only a length up, but it was enough for the Elf to disappear from that spot and reappear several lengths in the air, between the two of us with a reddish potion already in hand.
Luckily he didn't waste time drinking it as Wreign immediately turned and lept in his direction, aiming to once again get his claws hooked into anywhere they could get and take the Elf out of the air again. Freija decided to let this play out and take more of a background role in assisting Wreign. Since the wolf had pretty much turned the fight from being outgunned to a one-sided beat-down. She put up barriers in Wreign's blind-spots when Shri'n'thyl tried to attack with whips or spikes, and when he tried to focus on her Wreign jumped in and took a piece from the Elf...literally.
But they were on a clock, as with every strike Wreign grew more and more powerful, his strikes and strength being fueled by the anger he'd been consumed by when realizing what Shri'n'thyl planned to do with Freija. Making him helpless and unaware to her pain due to being trapped in a reality-bending illusion.
The only reason he'd broken out of it was because of (Berserk) and hearing Freija's shouts of pain under Shri'n'thyl's assault of pseudo-flame constructs: He'd ignored the onslaught of enemies before him in favor of leaping directly towards where she'd screamed, growing ever angrier the closer he'd gotten.
(Berserk) was a skill that amplified the strength of all stats by 200% for a period of around ten minutes at the highest level, but Wreign's level for the skills was still in the single digits so he was only able to use at most a minute if he pushed himself past the limit. Freija kept Wreign from harm with her barriers and Wreign kept at pressuring the Elf into a proverbial corner but Shri'n'thyl wasn't having any of it.
Shri'n'thyl's face had healed from the myriad of cuts inflicted upon it by Wreign and the potion he'd taken was able to fully heal the arm from it's state of being half torn off, and as the seconds ticked by the more and more the Elf healed from any wounds.
"I was having fun earlier," Shri'n'thyl growled, "You just had to go mad and ruin it." He then disappeared and the next instant he reappeared before Wreign, a fist deep into his chest: following through with the punch and blasting Wreign into the far distance before turning to Freija with an angry glare.
Freija looked towards where Wreign had been blasted out at in shock and dread. If Wreign wasn't able to completely overpower this Elf alone, even with her help, that meant that his ability either wasn't as powerful as she thought, or that Pops' had been going easy on them the entire time...throughout all of the many duels they'd had against The Demon, and yet it seemed like they hadn't even come close to a challenge for him.
"I'm going to trap you in an illusion so strong you won't have to worry about dying from it first," He rose higher into the air and rose both arms, pointed at Freija. "You'll just lose your mind first, you pest" He seemed to just about to cast the spell when what looked like a vial of glass hit his side at an incredibly high speed.
The object exploded into a giant cloud of greenish-blue smoke that caused a sizzling sound and the smell of burning flesh to permeate the surrounding area. A figure dressed with a Green camouflage patterned cloak and what looked like a partial filtration mask jumped into the area to stand beside Freija, not even flinching at the scream of pain coming from the Elf as he checked on his team-member.
Another figure jumped out of the woods: a anthropomorphic Alligator with a giant tower-shield held in one arm and a great-sword in the other. He was so large that the sword looked normal size from as he swung it at Shri'n'thyl's head. His perception kicked in just in time to make him activate his movement Skill and (Teleport) out of the poison cloud and away from the new figures in the battle. The Alligator-Kin landed in-front of Freija and the other figure with his tower shield lifted up just enough to see over.
"Sorry we're late" The Alligator-Kin rasped, his voice was deep and strained due to the little amounts of social interactions he's had over the years, "Would've come sooner. If knew about battle."
"It's alright Slythr, Sleeper," Freija smiled, nodding to them both in turn. "You two are here now, so lets focus on taking out this Elf Punk for now." She looked up at where Shri'n'thyl was floating in the air, healed anew once again with insane regeneration speeds. "Things to note: high regeneration, Illusion Fire magic, Reality bending Properties, and he's a Blood-Moons Elf"
"An Elf?" Sleeper sighed, "This is going to be rather troublesome."
"Trouble?!" Slythr roared, grinning at the other two, "This be Fun."
"Alright. Everyone knows what to do then." Right when Freija finished speaking all three of them disappeared from their spot and that was the start of the end of the battle.
For the next minute the three of them pressured Shri'n'thyl into defending himself as they tore into him from every angle. Taking a moment of pause as Wreign came back with a roar of anger, nearly severing the Elf in two with a three strikes and a bite before his state ran out and he fell to the ground unconscious: Out of the fight.
Shri'n'thyl was barely able to focus on keeping himself together as barriers kept his wounds from healing, and explosions of both concussive force and acid worsened the wound further. He tried to entrap them with a widespread illusion, but that failed when Slythr's shield flared with light and dispelled his illusion's before they could even start to effect everyone's conscious mind.
"You--You're all under level 200!" Shri'n'thyl Roared in anger as he retreated for the near hundredth time, "I'm an Acolyte of The End! I will not be backed into a corner by a bunch of--" His voice suddenly cut off mid-speech and his entire reality stopped working as his head was torn from his shoulders, at the cut formed at the neck before it could start healing again. Shri'n'thyl could only watch as his headless body was then separated into several sections before his very eyes and blasted into the distance by another Blue-green vial made by the cloaked, potion-throwing annoyance.
Shri'n'thyl's head was turned around in the grip of the one that'd torn it from his neck and he found himself facing Wreign. The Wolf-Kin looked beaten and sleep deprived, but in his other hand he held a Blood-Dripping Sword that barely had an edge made of Crystallized Blood. "You talk too much," he growled before tossing him away.
Shri'n'thyl found himself in the arms of Freija, who looked at him with pity and the feline hunger of a cat that's playing with their prey. "You've wasted not only a valuable afternoon spent doing something relaxing, but you also hurt me and my mate, so the remaining three minutes you're still conscious as a decapitated head will be floating here in a soundless light-less barrier, and we'll be leaving you to your eternal torment to die alone." She then tossed him in the air and Shri'n'thyl screamed in pain as the left side of his face was cut off in the formation of the spherical barrier keeping him afloat in the air.
It was made so that light and sound would never penetrate through and no sound could get out, but light was able to reflect off in a way that others on the outside were able to see the floating head as it slowly realized there was no coming back from this fate. Shri'n'thyl could only look through his own memories, as a distraction to keep him from going insane: Where had he gone wrong? It was all going so well before--before what? When?
He had them both firmly in his grasp, completely at the mercy of his power so where had he--Oh. Instead of killing them as he should've, taking their heads and leaving for his next assignment; he decided to play around with the lower leveled vermin, allowing their friends the time to catch up and turn the tables on him. No, it was before that even: it all went bad when he'd stopped paying attention to that Wolf. It was a mistake that almost cost him his life, had he been even a moment too late those claws would've torn his brain to shreds and turned his head inside out.
That wolf was the reason he'd lost.
You've heard the Call of The End
That Wolf Was The Reason For His Pain.
You've been Decided Worthy of our Power.

Everyone gave a collective Sigh as the Kill notification came through. A kill could never be verified as confirmed any other way than through a System-Notified confirmation of a target's demise. Thanks to this system kills were so much easier to be confident over, and there was very little need to get physical confirmation through the use of remains unless there with either a bounty or it was a Guild Request.
Freija took a brief glance at Shri'n'thyl's head just to confirm herself that he was actually dead, and the soulless look in it's eyes told her that there was no way he would be coming back from this. It was finally over--A large explosion in the distance caught everyone's attention and a look from Wreign was all Freija needed before the two of them dashed off in the direction of said explosion.
They used the trees as a more hidden way of travel and once close enough they were able to see the state of Red's body and the three other enemies stalking their way towards her. Freija immediately put of a transparent barrier a few steps ahead of them and turned to Wreign.
"You keep Red alive and get her to safety. I'll handle these guys until Sly and Sleeper get here." Freija growled and Wreign nodded, growling similarly in fury at seeing someone they considered family hurt so gravely. There were no more words needed to be spoken and Freija jumped down as soon as the three of them hit her barrier.
"You thought you could just walk away after almost killing our precious kitten?" She purred dangerously, beyond furious at this point. The female with the whip turned back and took a position between her, the others, and Redline.
"I've got this one you two, just get the target and leave. I'm going to get a little enjoyment from this waste of a perfectly good drinking day." She licked her lips and let the whip loose in her grip. "Your flesh is going to be wonderful, isn't it?"
Alright, so I'm pretty sure I've already said it in an announcement but it doesn't hurt to say it here too: I'm going to be pretty busy over the next 30 days because I'm going to be moving houses soon, so that means a crap ton of cleaning, packing and even more stress X_X
I was hoping on writing two chapters this week, or at least this weekend but that's probably not going to be happening so hopefully one is enough for now...Also It's been a while since I've written anything in the 3rd Person so if you catch any slip-ups in POV please point them out!
Thanks for Reading and I'll see you in the next one!!
