Chapter 33 - An Embarrassing Two Days: Day 1 (Part 3)

(3rd and last time I do this...probably)

Please let me know if I'm going too slow, or if there isn't as much action included to make things interesting. I have a lot of different places and ideas I can take with this story with plenty of things I can show still, but I may have to make a poll about such decisions sometime soon...
(Unedited)

<Redline>

Freija and Wreign spent the next seven hours forcing me to wear different types and styles of dresses all throughout the store; She dragged me through all five floors on search of 'something that fits' me...Eventually, after what felt like thousands of times going in and out of dressing rooms and through the various columns and halls of each section on every floor. And Wreign just followed along with that smug look of his the entire time!!

Though I had forced him out when she'd gotten to the undergarments area, not relenting on letting him into the entire floor until Freija had him behind a two-layered barrier that would last for until we found him again. She said "he'd bathed and taken care of me since I was 9" and that "this was something that shouldn't embarrass me anymore," but it did, and I was not about to let him see me in...in those scraps without being on death's door or an equivalent situation.

I still hadn't gotten over being seen by Sc'the in my nighties, so there was no way in Hell I was going to let Wreign see me in something worse

Thankfully Freija had had enough as the time neared 20pm and forced me to store four dresses that she'd set aside after buying them for me. They were in my storage ring now, and I was never going to take them out again...ever. She'd also paid for a few other things from the store that the attendants put in cute paw-shaped bags for Freija, for me, whenever she'd said she was "getting those." I couldn't even fight it, and I knew that she wouldn't be budging so eventually I just ended up having to distract her back to the other sections of the store, and then into leaving.

She was extremely hesitant to leave the store and wanted to keep looking around for things that she'd like on me, but I argued that she'd already spent nearly 70 Gold on just the dresses alone and that was all I would ever need, and so came the next thing: it was dinner, thankfully as I was getting hungry now and I could tell that Wreign was as well, but the place Freija had brought us to was a luxurious place that was open 24/10; where nearly everything on the menu was at least 20 Silver and barely big enough to satiate a human, let alone three high-leveled beast-kin that could eat several times their weight in food and still be hungry two hours later...

A room in a second circle inn was 23 Silver a night for Moons sake! And the provided meals were only around 35 Copper to, at most, a Silver when not provided for the stay. After getting to the entrance of the building, Freija had walked past the line nearly going around the building, and with a glance the attendant at the front dropped everything, grabbed three menu's, and directed us to a third floor private room with appetizer bread sticks included: Already steaming-hot on the table.

After getting seated Freija grabbed a bread-stick and Wreign immediately started looking through the menu's, yes there were another set of drink menu's already on the table, "Since we didn't spend nearly as much as I thought we would in the store feel free to get as much as you want here." She said and I couldn't help but stare at her in pure exasperation.

Spending nearly a hundred gold was on the low end of shopping?! I just couldn't wrap my tail around that; How often did she go shopping, and for how long, that spending a hundred gold was on the low end of a shopping trip!? Before I could get over my shock a Blue-Green Serval-Kin waitress came over with a deep bow.

"Hello Esteemed Patrons, my name is Elena and I will be serving you this evening."

She stayed like that awkwardly, and Freija spoke up addressing me, "Wreign and I already know what we want so while we order think about what you want, and remember there is no limit this evening..." I nodded meekly, still looking at the absurd prices listed on the menu's. Freija turned to Elena this time to address her.

"Thank you for waiting patiently Elena. I am a rather simple woman so I'll let Wreign order first." Elena stood straight after being addressed and beamed toward Freija with a smile.

"Of course! I'm more than happy to serve one of our most esteemed of Patrons in the long-time establishment of The Deep!" She went into another deep bow, "I will see to it anything you ask it fulfilled, no matter the trouble!"

"Alright! Foxy can wait her turn, I'll get--" Wreign then went on to order a bunch of different dishes, most of which had names that I didn't even recognize as language, and Elena recorded all 36 of them with surprising speed. I looked at Wreign, then at the menu, then at Freija and she could tell how overwhelmed I was at this because she just tapped my leg lightly with her own under the table.

'Don't worry' She mouthed, but I couldn't get all of this out of my head: There were just so many choices, and they were all so expensive; Doing something like this every day...just a few times a week even...was just so far above anything I could realistically do. Even with the amount I made doing normal jobs for the guild, and the allowance that Pops gave me weekly wasn't enough to even try this for more than once a month. It must've been pretty clear how overwhelmed I was because Wreign pulled me in and started to rub the top of my head, like he used to when I was younger and had daily panic attacks after I first started living with Pops in his giant mansion of a home.

I didn't resist the feeling this time either; one of the few moments Wreign knew exactly what to do to calm me down in a way that worked. Any other time he tried rubbing the top of my head and behind the ears like this I would scratch at him and dig my claws in as deep as possible--the cuts never deterred him though; in fact, they probably only made him want to do it more...

"Calm down Kitty. You're fine. It's okay here." I let myself melt into his hug and didn't focus on  anything else but that until I was able to open my eyes again. The waitress, Elena was gone and both Freija and Wreign were looking at me with that stupid expression of adoration again. Every time they brought me to new environments like this one of them would have to comfort me until I calmed down enough to function again. It was so embarrassing and I swore that they did it to me on purpose...

...Actually, now that I could think clearly again, they probably did do this kind of thing on purpose. And I couldn't even be mad about it because this whole thing was the result of calling in a favor from Freija! And she always knew when I was thinking about this because she had that stupid mischievous grin on that stupid, sly, foxy muzzle of hers!!

"Why do you do this to me?" I groaned, sinking down to lay my head on Wreign's lap and grumbling to myself under my breath, in a way they wouldn't hear...

"Because it's so fucking adorable when you get all overwhelmed like this." Wreign smirked, I could sense Freija's approving smirk on the other side of the table too.

"No wonder you two take turns sitting next to me on outings, or in places like this." I didn't know how to feel about it, "You take turns comforting me in public places!" I sat up fully at this realization and they both suddenly found the table-top much more interesting. "I--I can't believe you two! You--"

"Calm down little kitten, we are in a dining place with a rather prestigious name..." Wreign pulled me back into the seat gently. I was barely able to suppress the embarrassed-anger reverberating through my entire body as a suppressed yowl-hissing as I sat back down: crossing my arms and looking at the wall next to us with a sudden 'fascination' to it's shiny metallic black polish; Wait, that was actually pretty cool...

"Sorry Red." Freija whisper-giggled, sounding super apologetic for this, "You know I can't help but embarrass you so much sometimes; You're like a younger sister for me, a friend, and I just want to help you as much as I can..."

"Plus it's not like you could refuse anyways," Wreign poked my shoulder playfully, "You were the one that decided to make this an extra day of torture for yourself."

"Mwwrrrr. You're right!" I settled on whisper-yelling as well to at least act out a little bit of my displeasure...wait, I didn't order anything. "Hey, did you order for me or something? I don't remember--"

"Yep" Oh Moons, Wreign ordered for me..."Everything I'm getting I also ordered for you, so if you end up not liking something I can just have two servings and little effort!"

"Oh Moons..." I wanted to bury myself in these, surprisingly comfy, booth seats...

"Oh don't worry little Red. I did tell you to get whatever you wanted," Freija pointed out, "Plus you and Wreign have similar food palates so I doubt there'll be much you won't like." Again, I didn't need to see the glares the two traded over me to know that they were doing it.

"You two should just get over yourselves and marry the other already." I taunted, both of them froze at the comment: their tails and fur puffing up and going still as the thought wrecked havoc in both of their minds. Then they turned to me with equally malicious grins...

"It seems we've been too nice to our beloved Kitten this time around huh?" Wreign growled, glaring at me, and Freija answered in kind.

"Yes. It seems I'll have to take it up a notch for the remainder of our time together..." I looked away from her as that gleam to her eyes passed over me for the second time today.

I was saved from their suffocating maliciousness when the Serval-Kin, Elena, came by with our first round of food. The two immediately took their eyes off of my as soon as the wondrous smell entered the room and I was met with a giant bluish steak--with an assortment of different greens and reds to make the plate colorful--put before me. With an equally wondrous smell wafting off it and I nearly lost composure and started ripping into the entire thing like Sc'the does with all meat back home...

Speaking of Sc'the; I should probably save him something just in case...

I'll be having the next few chapters in Red's POV, maybe Wreign or Freija's depending on whether it would make the chapter smoother, or if requested...

Thanks for reading and I'll see you next time!!
