Chapter Two: On The Verge Of Insanity

Everyday, I keep seeing that white guy. And everyday, he sits next to me. And creeps me out. I mean, damn! Am I going crazy or something?

I need to find out who he is, and why he is here. Mostly because he seriously makes me shiver and has a cold atmosphere lingering about his that makes me feel like I'm slowly going insane. And sometimes, I feel like my blood is boiling and my skin prickles with apprehension.

"Hey, Hikari," Moku waved a hand in front of my face," Don't zone out, okay?" Oh, yeah. I was still in school. I smiled warmly. It had been a week since I met Moku, and I had grown fond of him. He was compassionate and warmhearted.

"Sorry," I laughed. My smiled suddenly began to fade as a pair of cold eyes turned on me. The owner of the eyes was behind me, but I could feel his stare burning into the back of my head. It was that white kid.

"What's the matter?" Moku asked, concern in his light voice," Is it... that?"

I nodded solemnly. That stupid white kid is really getting on my nerves. Today is the day that I am going to settle things with him.

"You do believe me, right?" I asked. Moku gripped my shoulders reassuringly.

"Hikari," Moku's face reddened," I would believe you if you told me that the sky was falling. You don't seem like one who would lie about that kind of stuff." My face flushed in embarrasssement. Why does he has to be so nice all the time? How is it possible to be so kind?

"Thank you," I said softly. Moku released me and turned towards the front of the classroom as Mrs.Koru began her early morning lectures.

-----

Later in the school day, I heard that weird white kid muttering to himself. He kept staring at me, and I had to pretend not to see him, but I don't think I did to well. Every time he would stare at me, I would break into a cold sweat and my hands would tremble for unknown reasons.

"Damn, all these girls are pretty cute, especially the chick in the brown jacket..." I heard the white kid say. He thinks I'm cute? What the hell? I'm pretty sure I'm the only chick, his words, not mine, in the classroom that wears a brown jacket.

There was a strange twinge in my stomach. My face felt like it was on fire. What is it with this kid?

-----

"Do you want me to walk you home?" Moku asked as we left the school. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw that weird white kid running down the street. Damn it! I have to catch up with him!

"Sorry, Moku," I apologized as I ran off," I have something I need to do."

My feet pounded the ground as I chased after the white kid. His white hair ruffled in the wind as he ran, and I had to run even faster to keep pace with him. In a quick motion, he turned and darted down a dark alley, and I followed him.

To my surprise, the man had disappeared, leaving me alone in the alley. My chest heaved as I attempted to catch my breath, and I leaned against the brick wall in exhaustion. Deep, throaty laughter rose up from the darker side of the alley, and I saw five large figures standing in the shadows. They came closer, and I noticed how tall they were. Seven feet at the shortest, maybe even eight feet.

My heart caught in my throat when I got a good look at them. They each wore white reptilian masks, and red eyes glowed from the holes in the mask. Their bodies were like that of a croccodile, scaly and green, and they had long tails. They were about five meters away from me, and they continued to advance. I noticed that they each had a hole through their chests, and I wondered what it was.

"Well, look at this little beauty!" the leader snickered. He made a few jerking motions with his claws, and his four comrades ran up to me, trapping me against the wall.

I want to run. But I can't move at all. Sweat trickled down my chin and onto the concrete below. Damn it! Move, you idiot! I threw myself at one of the creatures, but he grabbed one of my wrists and pinned it to the wall above my head.

Pin her to the wall, ya lugs!" one of the creatures snarled. Each of the four creatures pinned one of my limbs to the wall, and I struggled against them. I couldn't loosen their grip, and I hung my head in defeat.

"What do you want with me?" I snapped at the leader, who now stood in front of me. He traced his hand along my jaw, stroking my face lustfully.

"Nothing much. Just a little fun," he hissed in my ear," Call me Master, if you will." His forked tongue slid along the outside of my ear and slipped inside, and I growled and squirmed away from him.

"No way, you pervert," I said, my voice dangerously low," Unhand me this instant!"

The leader laughed and slid his scaly fingers over my neck. What do these stupid reptiles want to do with me? Are they like some kind of gang? I didn't want to even consider the last thought that came to my mind, but I knew it was probably the right answer.

"Or what? What're you going to do," the leader whispered as he slipped my jacket from my shoulders. He shoved his snout near the collar of my shirt and bit into the fabric, ripping it. I felt him rip the front of my school shirt until all that was left was my undergarments. I groaned in frustration and struggled against the four creatures that we pinning me, but to no avail.

The leader raised his face to mine and licked my chin delightfully. His tongue brushed against my lips, and I recoiled in disgust. He slipped his forked tongue into my mouth, and I screamed. Not just any scream. I could've sworn you could hear it from the other side of town. Before the creature could do anything else, we heard somebody clear his throat.

When I turned, I could see a man out of the corner of my eye. White skin. Black and gold eyes. An evil grin. It was the strange man from my class. This time, instead of wearing school clothes, he wore a white kimono. He took a step forward and I felt his cold presence fill the air. What is he doing here?

"Let me in on this, too," he said in a slow and evil voice.
