Chapter 5
I looked behind me and saw hundreds of aliens at different machines controlling the crystal wall. The aliens were stealing our natural resources. Our oil from ground, our oxygen from the sky. I jumped up off the ground and started backing away with horror. They were taking everything from us. I started to inch away from the wall, but I was tripped by someone. I yelped as I was dragged into an opening between the first house and an entrance.
"Shut up and duck, they will find you." A random voice commented after they stopped dragging me. I looked behind me to see who had spoken. A girl and a boy stood over me. The girl looked around 14 and the boy looked 5, maybe 6.
"Sorry." I whispered. The girl rolled her eyes and went to look at the aliens again. I looked around the gap. It was very dark and I couldn't really see anything. I saw lots of pipes and trash everywhere. The ground was all muddy and the air was all smogy. I could barely breathe.
"She's a little stir crazy right now, but it's ok. She's not usually like this." The little boy smiled up at me. "My name i-"
"I said SHUT UP!" The girl whisper-yelled as she interrupted him.
"We don't tell strangers our name. He could be an alien for all we knows" she glared at me directly.
"Then why did you grab him?" The little boy argued with her.
"He was waddling around us and attracting eyes, he would've blown our cover completely." She whipped her head back to look on guard so fast, her pony tail hit her in the eye.
"Ow, fuck. My eye," she attempted to swear under her breath. I sighed and looked at the little boy. He was beaming with joy to have someone else to talk to. I sat up and got comfortable, this was going to be a long night. I looked the boy up and down. He was wearing a white and green striped shirt, jeans and his hair was a mess. As I looked him up and down, I noticed he was shivering, goosebumps all over his body.
"Are you ok? Do you need a blanket or something?" I went over to the boy. As I reached for the boys arm to comfort him, my hand was slapped out of the way.
"Don't touch him. I will help him, you stay away from him." The girl growled at me and she gave the boy her jean jacket.
"Maybe you should do a better job of helping him?" I didn't mean to sound rude, but the way she looked at me made me regret speaking. I went back to my spot and tried to fall asleep.

"Aye, time to get up sleeping beauty," I was poked in the face with a stick.
"What do you mean?" I rose and rubbed my groggily eyes. I took the stick from the person who was poking me with it and I threw it away.
"We have to keep moving, we can't let them discover us," it was the girl and she was helping me up.
"Why are you bringing me, anyway? You think I'm an alien," I was still very tired and I let her pull me along.
"Well, if you are an alien, we can use you as our way out of here. If you're human, then I guess we're saving you," she informed me.
"Well thanks for saving me then," I was starting to wake up. I looked around and the entire area was all smoggy and the buildings were steel. The whole area was so grey, boring and lonely. I wonder how Zinnia was doing right now.
"Hey, what happens on the learning side anyways?" I asked the girl. She ignored me.
"It's not about learning, the aliens feed off sorrow, yet there's no aliens to feed from. They decided to keep humans captive so they can eat our sorrow." The little boy whispered to me once we were out of ear-shot from his sister. I sort of understood, but why didn't they capture all of us together? I kept thinking that thought and didn't even notice we were in a whole new area.
"Put this on," the girl shoved a school uniform in my direction and sent me to a change room.
"What's this for?" I said as I walked out of the room, fully clothed in a very itchy uniform.
"School, duh? We have to blend in to not be suspicious," The girl rolled her eyes at me as she took her hair out. She put on a black bow as a headband and combed her fingers through the little boys' hair to make it seem a little neater. I sat on a bench and waited for them as they made a plan. The girl kissed the boy on the forehead and grabbed our hands.
After walking down a few hallways and what felt like hours, a bell rang.
"Act normal," the girl whispered to us.
Hundreds of kids walked out of classrooms and we merged within the group. I tightly held her hand and followed her to a classroom. Kids had already found their seats and the teacher was writing on the board. We had just about made it when the teacher turned around and said,"Miss Jutsky, why are you and your brother late to my class? Again?"
"Lost track of time."
"Who is this boy with you?"
"A friend of my brothers. He found a way to cross over."
"What's his name?"
"He's not in records yet."
"Name please young lady."
"Baxter Phoenix Dustyven," the girl rolled her eyes as she made up my name. The teacher walked over to me. He looked at me and slanted his eyebrow. Or, what was supposed to be his eyebrow. His eyebrow was a bunch of skin and wrinkles. I looked at his hair and it was a huge bald spot of grey skin. His side burns were a light shade of neon green. It looked like he had radioactive hair that was glowing. While he strutted over to me, it was hard to maintain eye contact because his eyes were gleaming white and because he was so tall and intimidating.
"Very well then. Baxter, you will fit right into this class," the teacher strutted back to the class and continued on the board. Once the teacher moved and started to speak, I tuned him out to scan the board and to understand what the subject was. I saw aliens all over the board, just playing. The drawings looked 3D. I looked up at the top of the board.
'His story of aliens?' I read to myself. Who's story about aliens were we learning about? The boy must've seen my face and moved his chair closer to mine.
"It's history class, we're learning about the alien race and their histories," he smiled and went back to his desk. I looked up and listened to the professor.
"As you all should know, our planet was dying and we came to yours so we could have a place to live while ours is rebuilt. We are teaching you young humans our culture for if we ever come back to your planet, but you already know all of this. Our planet was similar to yours. It had plenty of vegetation and buildings. There was plenty of smoke and smog, like here. It was a pretty simple place and we all loved it. It was such a small planet and everyone lived in one city and of course it was a huge city. We all got along and there was one grand ruler. Grandmaster Senag, or in human English it's grandmaster Agnes. He kept everything in order and in peace. In fact he is making a special guest appearance today, welcome grandmaster Senag," the teacher faced the doorway and bowed. I looked at the entrance and no one walked in. I looked around the classroom and a bunch of students had started to stand up and bow. I was so confused and looked over at the boy and he pointed his eyes downwards. I stood up and right in front of my desk was a small alien man. He had pointy ears and was bald. His eyes were pure black and he was glowering at me. He was very short and he was a magenta colour.
"Bow," the small alien demanded.
"Yes sire," I ducked into a bow as the alien walked away.
"You all may rise, I am grandmaster Senag or Agnes," he raised his scaley hand and everyone went to sit again. I sighed and turned my head to look out the window. I hoped life wasn't always going to be like this.
After class was over, Grand master Agnes was bowing everyone out and answering any questions given to him. I ducked my head and walked out with the girl and the young boy. The walk back to the hiding hole near the wall was quiet. It gave my time to think up some questions.
"Where are your parents?" I asked once we got to the spot.
"Mom's on the other side, we think. Dads in that building over there," the boy pointed to a very new looking building and said before his sister could say something.
"It's for humans the aliens are ready to feed off of," he sighed and laid his sister's jacket on the ground. We had changed out of the uncomfortable uniforms.
"Is this where you guys live?" I asked as I sat beside him.
"No, we live in that building, we just prefer to sleep out here to keep an eye on the door. Ka-"
"What did I say about saying our names? We can't reveal our information to someone we know nothing about!" The girl ran over and pushed me out of my spot.
"Well I am happy to reveal information," I waved from behind her.
"Fine, what's your name? You don't seem to have any caution whatsoever," she stood up and glared down at me with crossed arms.
"I'm Orion, like the constellation. My mother loves space. My sister's Zinna, she was named after the first ever flower to survive in space. I am 7 years old and I was forced on this side, our mothers on this side. Also, I've never had schooling, and our father is the spawn of Satan himself and-"
"I only asked for your name, weirdo," The girl rolled her eyes and walked away.
"And your name is like an aliens name, so that doesn't help your case," the girl went back to watching out the crack between the two buildings to keep watch. The little boy just stared at me. I smiled at him and just waved and he just kept staring at me in amazement. I just ignored him, to prevent any trouble and I just layed on the ground and thought to myself.

"Orion, are you awake?" I had fallen asleep and was awoken to the young boy waking me up.
"Yeah, I'm awake. What do you need?" I sat up and looked at him.
"I want to hear more about you. You sound very interesting," the boy smiled at me and his eyes sparkled as he talked.
"Oh ok. Well ask me any questions," I got comfy on our scuffy blanket.
"Were you from the town the aliens are currently invading?" The boy asked.
"Yes, born and raised," I answered.
"Do you have any other siblings?"
"No."
"Why is your father the spawn of Satan?"
"He's just mean and picks on us."
"Can I tell you my name? I trust you enough," I nodded my head and looked over at the girl. He crawled closer to me to whisper in my ear.
"My name's Ja-"
"ORION! WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON THIS SIDE?" I looked over and saw my mother, she was hysterical and in tears, she ran over and hugged me, salty tears streamed down her rosy cheeks.
"Mom?"
