Zim wasn't exactly a cheater, per se, rather an individual that didn't care about your feelings.

Mini moose could sense your sadness, and cuddled up in your lap to make you feel better, same with Gir. Except they were laying next to you on the couch as they watched their shows on the TV.
ZiM never loved you, no matter what you would do, you could never make him happy.
Just to annoy him, yet he let you stay in his house.
You two have been "dating" for a few months now and he still refuses to actually spend time with you.

It does hurt, but now the only reason you still come over is to hangout with Mini moose and Gir and hopefully ZiM, but he never leaves the lab.

After a while you looked at the clock and realized it was getting late, and carefully removed a sleeping Mini moose from your lap.
"Bye guys." You whispered, as you slipped your jacket on and put your shoes back on.
Gir waved and smiled as Mini moose just drowsily yawned.
Then you walked out.

As you closed the door behind you, you sighed and started to walk out of the yard, only to be jumped by a figure in the darkness.
"What's the big idea?!" You yelled.
"Oh I'm sorry, I thought you were Zim," the figure wheezed.
"I'm clearly not," you grabbed the mask off the figure to reveal it's owner "Dib."
"Yeah I know that now." He said.
"Zim is down in the lab. He hasn't left since skool let out." You sigh and started to walk away.
"Thanks, you going home?" He kind of noticed your tone, but already knew about the situation of you and Zim. And after a while of trying to convince you to break up, he gave up.
But I think he was right after all.

"Yeah."
"Let me walk you home." He offered
"I live across town, are you sure?"
"It's the least I can do for jumping you, just now." He smiled nervously.
"Okay. Lets go." You chuckle.
