An Invader Zim Special pt. 3

(Yeah. It's been a while since I've made IZ one shots. But here we are, again. The one shot where you're Dib and Gaz's biological mother and Professor Membrane's wife who was locked away in prison for years but got released and found out the two kids you saw at Bloaty's are yours. Gaz looks a lot like you do, just a kid. And Dib like his father.

Also, this chapter's going to be a bit weird because it's just an accurate depiction of a mother talking to her kids as they go through changes. A son with a girl at 'skool' that he likes and a daughter going through a new... cycle. So, yeah.)

A year-in-a half passes. Almost two. You still have not seen this Zim alien Dib had mentioned, but then again you didn't want to assume that he was not there. Because for up to eleven months, you did suspect a green boy in Dib's class with black hair, a red suit, some shell-like thing on his back (That's a pak, btw. Zim cannot live without it after ten minutes of it being off of him. Unaired episode from over 20 years ago.), etc. So, you didn't see Zim in his alien form.

You looked at Dib one of the days you went to skool to visit him and Gaz and you quietly asked, "Is that the Zim person you've been mentioning, honey?" He would nod for yes. At least he knows he gets his suspicions from you as Gaz gets her spitfire attitude from your former self... or still today out of motherly instincts and being in prison for so long, you have to resort to violence to protect your family.

You love your kids and you love your husband. In fact, you love and care about your family so much that you'll resort to being aggressive and violent towards anyone that threatens your children. You pulled out a knife on a man for calling your son a big-headed alien obsessed freak.

Luckily for him, Dib stopped you and comforted you saying, "Mom. Resorting to violence won't solve anything." or, "It's okay. I love you." And so on. Your son's words would soothe you and make you smile. You were thankful your kids looked up to you.

Kids at the skool don't even risk messing with Dib anymore because of the side they saw of you. But then again, some of the kids had enough sense to understand that you're a mother protecting her children... and some of them including Zita knew you were in prison and being incarcerated for up to a decade did that to you.

Right now, you're at home and you're up in yours and Membrane's room. You're lying on the bed because you and your husband helped yourselves to some wine while Dib and Gaz were asleep. You had more than he did, so you're still in bed with a headache.

You groan and you say, "Shiiiit... Ugh. I keep forgetting how much hangovers suck. I've been locked away for so long, I forget booze does this to you." You sigh and you lay there. You close your eyes. You whisper, "I'm just going to lay here for a bit."

You suddenly feel a hand on your head and you hear the familiar voice of your son saying, "Mom... Hey." You sigh and you smile. In your tired state you say, "Hi, baby. How are you? You alright?" You turn to face his way and you see him. You open your eyes and you see Dib.

He says, "Hey, mom. I... I got you something. Here." He's got a glass of water and about two to three pills. You sigh and you sit up. You say, "Awe. Y-you brought this up for me?" He nods and says, "Take these. Please? Dad told me you're... well... hungover."

You say, "Honey. You're old enough to understand all of this. I get it. Thanks, baby." You take the pills and water and you lean in to kiss him on the forehead. He smiles. You take the pills and you down them with the glass of water. You look at Dib and you say, "Thanks, sweetheart. I really needed this." He says, "Anytime, mom." He looks away.

You say, "Honey. Is there something on your mind that you need to talk about?" He shakes his head for no. You say, "Dib." He looks at you and you say, "Is it a girl?" He blushes and he says, "O-of course not. No way." He laughs a bit.

You giggle and you say, "Ooh, I know. You're a growing young man. You're almost fourteen, honey. You're at that age where you'll be thinking about all of that. A mother always knows, honey. Who is she?"

Dib sighs and says, "Okay. You got me." He looks you and he says, "She's a new girl at the skool. Just transferred from Italy. She... Well..." He looks away and rubs the back of his head. You say, "Dib." He looks at you and he says, "She's really cute. A-and she's into the same things I am. That makes it better."

You say, "Have you talked to her?" He says, "A little. Not too much. I... I guess I'm just too... nervous. And awkward. I was never the most popular guy in skool." You cup his face and you say, "Sweetheart. Don't shy away. This girl is obviously into the same stuff you are, right?" He nods for yes.

You say, "You need to take up the courage to talk to her more. That skool dance is coming up, right?" He says, "Yeah. What about it?" You say, "You could oh, I don't know... ask her to go with you."

He says, "W-what? Me? M-mom, I..." You say, "It'll be alright. But I do want to meet her before that." He says, "O-oh god. I... I don't know. She may like the same stuff, but even SHE may not be interested in me."

You say, "Oh, honey. I'm sure she will be. What's her name?" He says, "Her name's Sofia Bonetti." You say, "I'll come to skool and meet this girl, myself. I always want to know the people who date my kids at one point. You understand, Dib honey?" He nods and says, "Yeah."

You suddenly hear Gaz screaming, "AAAHHHH!!" You gasp and you say, "Gaz?!" Dib looks towards the door with a raised brow. You look at Dib and you get up from the bed saying, "I'll be right back, honey. I need to check on your sister." He says, "That's fine. Go ahead."

You head out of the room and you yell, "Gaz?! Honey?!" You hear her yelling, "Oh god! What's happening to me?!" You hear her in the bathroom and you run over there. You knock and you yell, "Gazlene?! You in there, baby?!" She yells, "M-mother?!" You say, "Honey! Tell me what's going on!" She says, "I-it's... horrible!" You say, "Can I come in? It's just me, honey."

You see the door opening and you walk into the bathroom. You close the door on your way in. You see Gaz sitting on the floor, up against the wall. Eyes wide and nearly shaking. You say, "Honey? Hey, what's wrong?" You approach her and you duck down. You say, "Baby?"

She looks at you and she says, "M-mom. I... I think I'm gonna die, soon." You say, "Gaz. Why do you say that?" She points over at the toilet and you look over. You notice a trail of blood leading from there to herself. You gasp.

She leans in and clings to you. You feel her shaking and you say, "H-honey. Honey, calm down. This is nothing to be scared about." You hold her close. She says, "M-mama. What's happening?" You cup her face and you say, "Honey. Look at mama." She looks up at you.

You say, "Gaz. You're a girl. A girl who's almost thirteen years old." She says, "W-what does that have to do w-with me... b-bleeding from... there?" You say, "Gaz. Every girl around your age goes through this. All girls." She looks at you. You say, "Gaz... You had your period, honey."

(Note: I've thought about this for a while. In the show, Gaz is the only girl living in the house with a brother and father. No mom. No other female but herself. Who was she going to talk to when there came a time where she'd have her?... Yeah. Not to be gross. Just saying. Poor Gaz.)

She says, "My what?" You say, "Did they not teach you this at skool? Honey, no wonder you were trembling a bit." She says, "I-I don't get it. Usually, I never get scared over anything. I've been the scary one for years. B-but this. I... I..." You cup her face and she looks up at you.

You say, "It's okay, baby. Like I said... Every girl goes through with this. And this will happen to you once a month." Her eyes widen and she says, "Every month?!" You say, "It's just a life cycle females go through, honey. You are at that age, now. Come to the store with me and I'll buy you some pads. You'll need to do this every month for years to come. Every girl has to, Gaz."

She looks down at herself and looks at you saying, "B-but I'm still... bleeding." You say, "And you will for five to seven days, honey. Before we go though... wash up. I'll get you a new change of clothes." She says, "You're the only person I'll let go through my room. I'm not hiding anything from you."

You say, "Gaz. I'm not going to snoop through your room without your permission. Same with Dib. I just need to get to your closet, drawers and so on to get a new change of clothes for you." She nods and says, "Th-that's fine." You say, "Sweetie. It's alright. Calm down. Look at mama." She looks at you.

You stroke her face and you say, "Every girl your age goes through this. Some earlier. Some later." She looks at you and she grabs your hand. She says, "Mom. Thanks for having this talk with me. Now that I think about it... It would've been really embarrassing and weird if you hadn't been here for me to talk about this stuff to."

You say, "Baby. Anytime. I'll be back. You just shower, calm yourself and I'll get you to a store for this stuff you need. You are a female." She nods. You lean in and you kiss her on the forehead. You say, "I'll be back for you." You stand up and so does Gaz. You head out of the bathroom and Gaz does as you say.

(Not over yet.)
