Chapter 78: A Day in the Village

Izayoi's POV

Two days after receiving the mind-blowing news from Arrosa, we went out on the road. Arrosa was hard to convince to come with us but we got her to agree. Papa was even somewhat nice to her! (If that happened than you know that what was happening was bigger than all of us). I was glad that we were putting all our differences aside to work on stopping Naraku.

We decided to check out a village nearby that had caught Miroku's attention. When we got there, we found that the village seemed quite peaceful. However, Miroku insisted that there was a "demonic presence" in the air that needed to be investigated. He took Mochigo, when Sango and the twins weren't looking, and the two went on to "search" for the demon responsible. (In all actuality, Miroku was trying to convince Mochigo to find a woman that would bear Miroku a grandson). Sango and the twins followed suit, leaving my parents, Arrosa, Shippo and I to look about the rest of the village, finding that we had some down time.

3rd Person's POV

Miroku took his young son to a house where there were many young women walking about. "Now Mochigo, you want to approach only the most beautiful of women," Miroku instructed. He then noticed such a woman walking out of the crowd. "Such as that one over there," He said, pointing to the unsuspecting woman.

"Father, is this really necessary?" Mochigo questioned.

"Of course," Miroku insisted. "You need to find a wife one day and how else will you do it if you do not go out and venture my son?"

Just then, Sango came over to Miroku and smacked him on his right cheek before grabbing him by his collar. "You and I need to have a word on raising our son," Sango scolded as she dragged Miroku. Mochigo followed the two as they were walking away.

"This, Mochigo, is your first lesson," Miroku told his son as he was being dragged off.

"Which is what Father?" Mochigo asked.

"There is no fury like that of a woman when she is upset," Miroku stated as Sango dragged him away.

"That's one thing you've gotten right about this whole situation," Sango admitted.

The twins watched in disappointment as they watched their Father get dragged into a vacant hut, where they heard another loud smack that made them wince.

"Father will never learn will he?" Ayuma sighed.

"Unfortunately, probably not," Kayuma sighed.

Near one of the many stands in the village, Kagome, Inuyasha and Shippo were buying food for dinner. "Let's see," Kagome said, looking at the large assortments of food. "What are you two hungry for?"

"It doesn't really matter to me," Inuyasha shrugged. "Just as long as we have enough of it to fill us up."

"I wish you had some more of your instant noodles Kagome," Shippo admitted as his stomach growled. "Maybe when we get back to your village you can go to the future and get some more of that stuff."

"I guess we can do that," Kagome said. "I haven't seen Mom, Grandpa, and Souta in so long. It'd be a good idea to go see them all."

"Yeah, I suppose," Inuyasha stated. "Until then though, you can suck it up Shippo."

"I'm just saying Inuyasha. That stuff is so good."

"You can live without it."

Soon Shippo and Inuyasha were getting into a big argument, which was getting a bit out of hand. Kagome tried staying out of it for the most part, figuring that it would all blow over any moment. However, it only seemed to be getting worse and worse. Finally, Kagome stepped in, threatening Inuyasha with a certain word and telling Shippo to not push Inuyasha's buttons any more than he had. "Inuyasha, I will say it if you do not stop," Kagome threatened her husband. "And Shippo, you know how easily frustrated Inuyasha gets so you need to knock it off too."

"Yes Kagome," Both men said.

Then, over near a jewelry stand, Izayoi was showing off to Arrosa pretty set of bracelets that she had found. They were both blue gem-threaded bracelets that were attached through black thread. "Aren't these pretty Arrosa?" Izayoi asked the other teen.

"They are," Arrosa flatly stated, not caring much for jewelry.

"I think they're really nice," Izayoi said before going over to the stand owner and buying the two bracelets for a cheap price. Izayoi smiled and then placed one on her right wrist, finding that it fit perfectly on her. She then went over to Arrosa and grabbed her right wrist, confusing Arrosa for a moment, before placing the other bracelet on the girl's arm.

Arrosa raised an eyebrow in confusion and questioned the peculiar action. "Why did you do that?" Arrosa questioned Izayoi.

Izzy smiled. "It's a friendship bracelet," Izayoi answered. "Don't tell me you've never heard of them."

"To be honest, no," Arrosa admitted.

"Well they're used to symbolize friendship between two good friends. And I want you to have that one. You don't have to wear it all the time but having it on now and again would be nice."

The child of Kikyo looked at the bracelet on her wrist, twirling her wrist left and right to get a better look at it. She found it peculiar how Izayoi treated her. In all honesty, Arrosa assumed that upon meeting one another Izayoi would've been disgusted with her when she would learn the truth of her heritage. However, Izayoi wasn't like that at all. In fact, Ayuma, Kayuma, Mochigo, and Shippo were also all so open-minded about her situation, caring not that she was related to Naraku and Kikyo but caring more about her as the person she was. She still had much to learn about the kindness the once strangers had given her but chose to keep an open mind about it all.

"Do you like it?" Izayoi asked Arrosa after a long pause of silence.

Arrosa softly smiled. "Yes, I do."

Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a demon bear began attacking the village, destroying everything in its path. "Looks like trouble is starting up again," Izayoi sighed. "Can't believe Miroku was right about the demonic aura."

"Or maybe it just happened to show up by coincidence," Arrosa stated. "After all, I think we know the real reason Miroku wished to come here."

Izayoi chuckled. "Yeah. Now why don't we take this thing down?"

"With pleasure."

Things needed to be calm for a bit. Anyway, can the group stop Naraku before he can get his hands on Izzy and bring back the jewel? We shall find out.
