Chapter 74: Sir Exorcist and the Spider's Manor

So, after a lot of debating, mostly with myself, I've decided that it is high-time I update this book. I thank all those who have been patiently awaiting this and the wait is over.

3rd Person's POV

Inside Naraku's castle, Naraku sat and watched from Kanna's mirror Kagura letting Kogi get away. "Another failure on Kagura's part," Naraku stated. Soon a smirk came to his face. "However, it shall not matter soon. Now I have all the resources I need to finally get it; I shall finally have the sacred jewel. This time, my wish shall not to to waste."

Kanna remained silent as she listened to Naraku speak. She knew exactly what Naraku was going to do and what he would wish for. If only the gang knew what was coming their way.

Izayoi's POV

After hours of conversing, Kogi agreed to give the village of half-demons a try and went to stay there, under my recommendation, for at least a month. If she didn't like it, than she could leave whenever she wanted to. We decided to get moving as well. For a change, I decided to ride on Kilala's back with Ayuma. We were in the air, looking down on everyone else from below.

"Sure is a nice view, huh?" Ayuma commented.

"It sure is," I agreed. The breeze blew through my hair and felt amazing. My mind was able to be cleared and I felt there was no need to worry in that moment. Of course it was only a moment, which ended up not lasting. (Can't I get a break here?)

Kilala started growling for some reason, which got our attention. "What's the matter Kilala?" Ayuma asked the giant cat demon.

That's when I sensed the demonic presence that was down below. I jumped off of Kilala and landed safely on a tree branch just as young man, maybe in his late teens, went running by with a bear demon right on his trail. He came out to an open field, stopped, and turned to face the demon. "Foul demon! You do not scare me!" he shouted as he started throwing salt at it.

The bear demon roared in anger and went charging at the young man. I decided to make my move and jump and grab this guy before he became bear chow. He was certainly surprised when I saved him from certain doom. "Hey! What's the big idea?!" he shouted after I set him down in a safe location.

"I just saved your life! You should be greatful," I told him as I got out my bow. I quickly drew it back and aimed right for the bear's forehead. Then I released it and it hit the bear right in the head, causing it to disintegrate completely. "Good, now that that's taken care of-"

As I turned to face the young man, he started throwing the salt in my face! I coughed after the first round of salt stopped.

"What's the big idea?!" I shouted at him.

"You may have the apperance of a woman, but ye be a demon!" he shouted at me, throwing more salt in my face.

"Cut it out already!"

Soon, the others caught up and got the guy to stop throwing salt in my face. He then introduced himself; "I am Sir Exorcist, apprentice of Madam Exorcist, and Protector of the Innocent!"

All of us had sweatdrops form on the back of our heads. All this guy needed to do was some stupid pose and the gimmick he was doing would be complete.

"So you know Madam Exorcist then?" He asked after his speech.

"We met her many years ago, yes," Miroku told him. "She was a...a surprising help for us."

"So how is the old bat anyway? Has she finally kicked the bucket?" Papa asked.

"Inuyasha! Don't be so rude!" Mama told him, tugging on Papa's ear and making him wince.

"Madam Exorcist is retired now and resting comfortably. She is being honored for her reveared work slaying demons," Sir Exorcist stated.

"You mean she was that lucky and defeated so many demons?" Shippo whispered to Sango.

"I suppose so," Sango whispered back.

"This kid isn't gonna last long against demons the way he's going at it," I whispered to Papa.

Mama sent a glare my way and I quickly shut my mouth, imagining what she was saying with that glare.

"Well, I am glad to have met you all, but I must be on my way," Sir Exorcist stated, getting up.

"Where are you going?" Kayuma asked.

"There is a manor not too far from here and they have requested my assistance in slaying a spider demon that has plagued their home."

When he said spider demon, we all silently gasped. I mean, this had to be a lead on where to find Naraku, right? How many other spider demons were out there anyway? Even if Naraku wasn't involved, helping people of a manor was certainly something we all wanted to do.

We convinced Sir Exorcist to let us accompany him to the manor. When we saw the manor, immediately, shivers ran down my spine. The demonic aura was humongous and we hadn't even set foot on the grounds yet! I got a bad feeling about this, I thought as we walked up to the manor.

The guards led is inside and soon took us to the headman, who told is the while situation; "We've dealt with this demon for some time now. It's killed several of my servants and has run most of them off!" he exclaimed. "You and your group will deal with this matter, won't you Sir Exorcist?"

"Of course we will," Sir Exorcist stated. "And we will do this for fre-"

Before Sir Exorcist could finish his sentence, Miroku pulled him aside and began talking to him; "My friend, you are quite the generous fellow. However, it seems to me that with a case such as this, you will be here for a while. It would be best to request some rooms, meals, and a little extra money on the side for good measure," Miroku told him.

"Do you really believe that it is wise monk?" Sir Exorcist asked.

"Most definitely."

"Miroku!" Sango silently growled.

Some things never change.

3rd Person's POV

From a few miles away, Arrosa came to a stop after sensing the evil demonic presence at the manor. That presence, she thought. It feels so ominous. It's not Naraku, but it bears a similar resemblance to his. Could it be, a new incarnation of Naraku?

Is Arrosa right? And if she is, what is the group walking into? We'll find out in the next chapter! (Again, I apologize for not updating but I was super busy!)
